Hello friends. It's been a while since I blogged or even really crafted. I got a horrible flu bug the first day of CHA and I've been down ever since. I'm finally today feeling human enough to get a quick project done and posted.

It's time again for another month in my desktop calendar. I always have fun coming up with designs that will fit in the small space I have to create in. For this month I used a really fun Mask & Stencil Set along with 2 stamp sets by Leonie Pujol for Crafter's Companion.

I took the stencils and placed it down on the page. Then I blended some Picked Raspberry and Wilted Violet Distress Inks over the mask. Next I stamped the little images with black ink. Once done stamping, I removed the stencil mask to reveal the most perfect "Love" sentiment. I love how this turned out!

I added a few bright pink rhinestones and a piece of washi tape in the corner for added texture and interest. That's it! These stencils and stamp really are a load of fun to create with. Check out all the different stencil and stamp sets over at Crafter's Companion HERE.

Fab 60's Watercolor

Here's another card I created using the brand new Sheena Douglass Groovin' 60's collection from Crafter's Companion.

Everything is watercolored with Spectrum Noir AquaBlend Watercolor Pencils. As you can see, these pencil colors are super rich and vibrant! Fab...right?!

• Background - Sky Blue, Regal Blue
• Skin - Apricot, Coral, Sorrel
• Hair - Beeswax, Sorrel
• Lips - Watermelon, Strawberry
• Hat & Gemstone - Petunia, Anthracite
• Hat Band & Jacket - Kiwi, Cypress

I made the card base from Spectrum Aqua Watercolour Cardstock, as well as the additional cut out pieces.  Everything is stamped and heat embossed. The flowers have glitter glue in the centers.

To make the heart, I brushed anti-static powder on a small piece of watercolor cardstock, placed the Groovy Flower Power Stencil on top and dabbed black pigment ink only in the dashed areas of the heart. After lifting off the stencil, I heat embossed in clear. Next, I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment in the center. To finish, I trimmed out and attached to card with dimensional foam adhesive.

Crafter's Companion Edge'ables Sneak Peek

COMING SOON to Crafter's Companion USA: Edge'ables

I'm super excited about these new dies! I could hardly contain myself waiting for the day I could show a sneak peek. These new Die'sire Edge'ables dies from Crafter's Companion USA are da' BOMB!

I used the new Celebrate Edge'ables Die on this card. The dies are sized perfectly for a standard A2 card. I diecut White Pearl Shimmering Cardstock, trimming it slightly smaller than the card base, and popped up with dimensional foam tape.

To make the graduation hat, I hand-cut pieces from Black Pearl Shimmering Cardstock, adding a black brad and tassel made from gold thread. Turned out super cute! (Confession -- It took me a few tries to make the hat. I spend way more time making that the rest of the card. HA!)

On the black card base I used the Burst Stencil with Versamark Ink on a dauber - then embossed with Ranger Holographic Embossing Powder.

You make every day Amazing

I love anything coffee related. And I do believe my wonderful yummy flavored creamers definitely make for a "skinny drink"... right? *wink*

This digi image from Fresh Brewed Designs is great. It's called Skinny Latte.I looked at it and totally thought how amazing a good cuppa tastes. It does make every day amazing! I wanted this card to be all girl. I do believe I accomplished that.

Colored with Spectrum Noir Markers:

• Coffee Mug PP1, PP4, PP5, IG4, IG6, IG8, IG10
• Tape Measure GB1, GB4, BG7 Coffee EB2, EB7
• Ground GB1, GB4, Blender
• Outline IG1, Blender

The shape of the mug is a cylinder - or tube shaped. Coloring the highlight along the center length gives the mug dimension. For more details info on coloring cylinders and building dimension with color, click HERE to check out a previous post over on the Spectrum Noir Blog. I also colored the main front section of the mug on another piece of cardstock, then cut out and adhered with foam adhesive. That adds even more texture and dimension.

On the pink card base, I used Tim Holtz - Stampers Anoymous Measured Stencil and sponged with Versamark. Next I gave it a light mist of Sparkle Sheer Shimmer Spritz. Looooove that stuff! I colored over the coffee with a clear glaze pen and added a flower shaped sequin from Lawn Fawn with small gold sequin from Pretty Pink Posh and rhinestone in the center. Va Va Voom!

Hippity Hoppity

Hello friends! Happy Easter!

I just adore Brewster the bunny from Eat Cake Graphics. Naturally, I had to make an Easter card with him, but I'll be using him for some upcoming birthday cards. Getting more out of my stamps makes me wanna hippity hop down the bunny trail too! LOL!

To make the background, I sponged the clouds using a stencil and the hills with a hand-cut mask. The grass on the hills was stamped with the mask in place. The trees are stamped on white cardstock, colored, trimmed and adhered flat. Wanna know a great trick? Of course you do! The little areas on the trees, where the branches to into the tree...I didn't cut out those areas. I just colored the white cardstock using a blue marker to match the background sky color.

 
I also stamped the baby's breath with the mask down, using VersaMark ink and heat embossing with white ep. And because I just LOOOOVE glitter, I added on the flowers :) The sentiment banner is hand-cut and edged in crystal glitter. All the coloring is done with Spectrum Noir Markers. For a bit more bling, I added little a few colored sequins. Kinda looks like colored Easter eggs. I also used a couple die-cuts to make the frame for the card base.

Magical Green Watercolored Texture Paste

Happy St. Patrick's Day. No pinchin' here :)

This card is LOADED with green. I made the textured background with a stencil and texture paste on a panel of watercolor cardstock. Once it was completely dry, I painted on the panel with Spectrum Aqua Watercolor Markers (Lime, Moss and Bud Green). Then I spayed the entire panel with Sparkle Sheer Shimmer Spritz.

The images are stamped and colored with Spectrum Noir Markers. Normally I would color this dude with red hair, but this time I decided to go black for a change of pace. I painted the over the clovers, grass hills, hat and shoe buckles with Sparkle Shimmer. There's 1 little green rhinestone is in the center of the 4 leaf clover that is being held. To make the sentiment panel, I stamped the shamrock with Memento New Sprout Ink and then stamped the sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black.  The clouds are stamped and paper pieced with gingham patterned paper. FUN!

All the coloring was done with Spectrum Noir Markers:
Bunny - BG1, BG3, BG5, CR2, Blender
Leaves - CG1, CG3, DG3
Flowers - CT2, CT4, GB5
Watering Can - CT2, CT4, BT1, BT4, BG3
Butterflies - BG1, BT4, PP3, PP5

All the images are stamped, colored, cut out and mounted to the stenciled background panel, which I created using a new Sheena Douglass Stencil called Shady Meadow. Perfect..right :) You can see the one ear on the bunny I popped up higher, and the same for the spout on the watering can. And of COURSE glitter all over the place.





Here's how I made the stenciled background:

Place cardstock panel in cardboard box to protect your workspace from overspray.  Position stencil over cardstock. If needed, use painters tape or washi tape to hold stencil and cardstock in place.

Spray Fireworks over stencil. If needed, spray again to add more color.

Carefully lift off stencil from cardstock. Let dry.

NEW Stencils from Crafter's Companion USA

Today is the DAY!!! Crafter's Compaion USA is releasing 8 NEW Sheena Douglass Decorative Stencils!!! WOOHOO!

I made this card using two of the new stencils - Distress Grid and Shady Meadow.

Stencils are SO popular! You can do just about everything with them. On my card, I used a portion of the Shady Meadow Stencil to sponge Peacock Feathers Distress Ink on the card base. What an easy way to make designer cards! I just put the stencil down where I wanted some of the pattern, sponged the ink, moved the stencil to another spot on the card and sponged again. So simple! And cleanup of the stencil is so easy, because distress inks just wipe right off.

Next, I die-cut a heart and sponged on Spun Sugar distress ink over the Distress Grid Stencil. Then I stamped a the flower with Warm Lipstick Distress Ink and the little hearts with Peacock Feathers Distress Ink. I added a little shading on the flower by using an Aquabrush and a little of the Peacock Feathers Ink.

All around the edges of the heart is Silver Halo Glitter Mix from Stampendous. I could EAT that stuff!

I decided I wanted the heart to be thick like chipboard. So I die-cut like 3 more hearts out of white cardstock, then adhered them all together on back of the decorated heart. I love how it turned out. The sentiment is stamped and heat embossed in white on a scrap piece of Rose Pearl Shimmering Cardstock. and popped up with foam tape. A few rhinestones in the center of the flower and then popped the entire piece on the card front with foam adhesive.

Sneak Peek Time

Hello everyone. Today I get to give a sneak peek of the NEW Crafter's Companion Sheena Distressed Grid Decorative Stencil that will be coming soon!

This new stencil is fantastic! It's 7" x 7" and gives you so much room to work with. I can't wait for you to see all the other new stencils that are being released. THUD!



To make the design on my card, I placed the stencil over the white cardstock panel and sponged with Antique Linen Distress Ink. Next, I die-cut a heart and placed the negative piece over the white cardstock panel and sponged with Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick and Antique Linen Distress Inks. The sentiment is stamped with Memento Luxe Espresso Truffle ink and heat embossed.

I also die-cut a heart from kraft cardstock, sponged with Antique Linen Distress Ink, and topped with ribbons, twine and button.

For the inside of the card, I die-cut the heart and used the negative piece to sponge.  Then I used the new stencil and sponged distress ink over the top.

eBrush Fall Leaves

Today I have another way to use Spectrum Noir markers with a stencil. The eBrush!!!

Isn't it amazing how you can transform a plain white cardstock into a beautiful focal piece for a card! So quick and easy! I sprayed each leaf by masking off the others. Then I ran the panel through my die cutting machine to emboss. Lastly, I sprayed the outer edges with GB8. See where I got a little red over-spray? That's because I didn't get those spots masked off all the way when spraying. I'm totally fine with it ;)

Here's the Spectrum Noir markers I used with the eBrush:

Hey bloggers! I'm back again today with another post. That's because I couldn't wait to show you this FUN and EASY technique I spotted over on the Spectrum Noir Blog - Stenciling with Spectrum Noir.

I followed the instructions to do the technique. I used a metal stencil with the following Spectrum Noir Markers:

• Red Leaf - CR6, CR8
• Yellow Leaf - GB3, OR1
• Tan Leaf - GB1, GB8
• Green Leaf - DG2, DG4

I added a couple little extra touches to the leaves :)  I ran the  piece with the stencil through my die cutting machine. Then, leaving the die in place, I added clear embossing ink to the raised leaf images. Next I removed the stencil, covered the leaves with clear embossing powder and heat embossed.

Sooo CAS cool! I think I wanna play with this technique all day long! I certainly have enough stencils to keep me busy for months ;)

Good Times Perspectives

Hey Hey Crafters!  Here's another card I designed with one of the NEW Sheena Decorative Stencil from Crafter's Companion USA. This stencil is called Perspectives.

To get all the shading on my design, I used several colors of Distress Inks with ink blending tools. It was super easy! Whatever color felt good to use...I went for it :)  I know you're gonna have fun with this stencil and all your inks! Seriously...you can't go wrong!

The sentiment is from Crafter's Companion Vintage Sentimentals - Verses set. I stamped on vellum and heat embossed with black embossing powder. I adhered the chipboard speech bubble over the vellum piece and trimmed - then popped it up on the card using clear dimensional adhesive. Didn't this turn out sooo cool!?!

These new stencils are 8" x 6".  Remember...you don't need to use the entire stencil when creating. As you can see on my card, I only used a portion of it. Stencils are SO POPULAR! I just can't get enough of them!

NEW Decorative Stencils from Crafter's Companion

I'm SUPER EXCITED to share the NEW Sheena Decorative Stencils that are now available from Crafter's Companion USA. In addition to the new stencils, there's NEW stamp sets added to the Sheena Douglass - A Little Bit Magical Collection. Great new products!

For my card design, I used the new Deer and City Trees stencils. Each stencil is 8" x 6", but I only used a portion of each.

I was able to achieve this stunning texture on the trees by using Glossy White Dreamweaver Embossing Paste mixed with some Eye of the Tiger Dreamweaver Metallic F/X. I spread the paste over the stencil on Gold Dust Shimmering Cardstock. After removing the stencil, I immediately dusted additional metallic powder over the wet embossing paste. I let the paste dry slightly (15 - 20 minutes or so) then used a soft paintbrush to brush around the loose metallic powder. Next I heat it with my embossing gun. The result was an awesome bumpy texture...which I LOVE!

Once the piece was cooled off, I used a soft rag to rub the excess powder around the cardstock -- and help clean off any loose powder. (Actually...I think I used my finger...and then the soft rag! LOL) This is just one of the ways you can use the embossing pastes. If you prefer a smooth finish, don't use a heat gun. Just let the paste dry completely on it's own.

I sponged the deer onto the piece with Aged Mahogany Distress Ink. For the snow, I spread the white embossing paste freehand using the Palette Knife. While still wet, I sprinkled with glitter - then let completely dry.

The sentiment is from Vintage Christmas Collection Sentimentals - Season's Greetings set. I've stamped on vellum and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I added a little chipboard star as if it were on top of the tree.
