Object of Kindness

Hello my crafty peeps! We have another great challenge over at Fresh Brewed Designs.

The challenge theme today is: Objects (non living things - balloons, table, coffee cup ... )

For my "Object" - I printed the the digi image Brighten My Day - Table along with a digi sentiment. All my coloring is done with Spectrum Noir Markers: LG1, JG1, EB6, GG1, GG2, GG3, BT4, BT5, CT2, CT4, CG1, BT1, Blender

I printed the image again and then colored only the lamp shade to cut out and pop up on the card. Gives just the perfect bit of dimension to the imags. I also added a single orange rhinestone to the little flower. Yep...got my bling bling on there. :)

Totally lovin' this CAS design. So fresh and clean too! Now it's your turn!

Happy Birthday full of Sparkle

I've always loved playing challenges. They inspire me and give that extra little "push" to be creative in so many different ways. Plus...we all love to win prizes...so that was even more reason to enter...right? ha. Gotta love gettin' that free happy mail! So how about you? Are you a challenge player?

I combined both challenges to come up with my card design. I mean...come on! Birthdays and Sparkle belong together! LOL

Isn't that soooo fun?!!! A birthday card that is FULL of the most wonderful sparkly things! The digi stamp is from Fresh Brewed Designs new release. It's called Lil Sweetie Make A Wish. ADORABLE!

I colored it with Spectrum Noir Markers:

• Frosting - LG1, LG3, LG5
• Cupcake - DG1, CG1, CG3, CG4
• Arms/Legs - LG1, LG3, LG4
• Candle - CT1, CT3, CT4
• Shading - GG1, GG2, GG3

Then I colored with some Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pens:

• Frosting & Green Candle Stripes - Soft Jade
• Cupcake Wrapper, White Candle Stripes & Under Feet of Cupcake - Clear

For even MORE sparkle, I added yellow glitter on the candle flame, and crystal glitter on the cake and frosting!

AND...for even MORE sparkly birthday fun, a shaker window overflowing with shinny sequins and seed beads. The stitched dies are from My Favorite Things and Lawn Fawn. All the fun sequins is from Pretty Pink Posh. LOVE that stuff! I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment from Simon Says Stamp.

Lil Sweetie Happy Birthday

It's time once again for a Fresh Brewed Designs Challenge.

The theme is: Anything Goes!

I used one of the brand new digi images: Lil Sweetie Happy Birthday. Isn't it so fun!

I colored with Spectrum Noir Markers: BT2, BT4, BT6, GB1, GB6

To make the fun balloons, I just printed a couple more, cut out and hand drew the strings. Load of glitter made it really happy. Which...by the way...qualifies for this months challenge over at Spectrum Noir - Show Us Your Sparkle! Another great challenge to get your craftin'

Oh So Girly

YES!!! NEW Digi Images and a NEW Challenge over at Fresh Brewed Designs. WOOT WOOT!

The Challenge Theme: Oh So Girly

The new digi I used is called Caffeinated Escape. She was super fun to color. I also used the Coffee House Menu digi image and To Have and To Hold digi sentiment. BTW - if you want to purchase a digi from the Fresh Brewed Designs webstore...but you can't find it...just shoot them a quick email and let them know what images you are looking for.

I colored using Spectrum Noir Markers along with Spectrum Noir Colored Pencils. The pencils colored on top of the markers  REALLY add the extra depth and shading! If you've never tried that...I highly suggest. I have a tutorial over on the Spectrum Noir Blog about coloring pencils over markers. That will help you get started with this technique. Check it out HERE.

Here's all the colors I used:

• Markers - FS2, FS3, FS6, CR2, PP1, PP4, PP5, HB1, TN3, EB1, EB3, EB5, GB8, CG2, DG2, BG2, BG4, BG6, BG8
• Pencils - 001, 031, 033, 111, 115

The sentiment I picked to go along with my card design is really intended for a wedding card. I thought it worked perfectly for this project- giving it just a touch of humor...in an "Oh So Girly" way.

OH MY is this ever SWEET STUFF! The digi stamps I used are Sweetie with Balloon and Could You Be Any Sweeter Cupcakes. Don't those cupcakes look soooo yummy! I make them all chocolate cake! My fav!

Warm and Cozy

Nothing better than your favorite hot beverage to keep you warm and cozy at Christmas...

I really love this holiday to-go coffee cup (or hot cocoa) image from Fresh Brewed Designs. Both the Candy Cane Latte and Warm and Cozy Sentiment are digi images. I've used this cup images many times. It's one of my fav's!

Colored with Spectrum Noir Markers:

• Bow - GB1, GB4, GB7, GB9
• Cup - FS1, BG1, Blender
• Candy Cane - CR3, CR9, Blender

I added clear glaze over the candy cane. It looks soooo yummy!  The gold accent ric-rack ribbon goes perfectly with the gold ribbon and bow.

Build A Snowman

Hello crafty peeps! Here's the new challenge for this week over at Fresh Brewed Designs.

The Challenge Theme:  Build A Snowman

Since I didn't have an official "snowman digi image" from FBD, I had to think out of the box to complete this challenge. Here's what I came up with...

I made a DIY snowman and tucked him on a coffee mug. HA! Hey...I got the job done...and it turned out pretty darn cute if I do say so myself.
 

All the coloring is done with Spectrum Noir Markers:

• Greens - CG4, CG3, CG1
• Reds - DR2, DR5, PP1
• Shading on bow and candy cane - GG1, Blender
• Shading on showman -  IB1, Blender

I printed the Candy Cane Latte Digi stamp image and Let it Snow Digi sentiment directly on the white card base. I printed the mug 2 more times, colored, fussy cut and layered with dimensional tape. The snowman eyes are black pearls. His cute little smile I drew by hand with a black marker. A few snowflakes for good measure and enough sparkly glitter to build the rest of the snowman!

Green Slime Challenge

Hello Crafters! Today starts another great challenge over at Fresh Brewed Designs. Check it out...

GREEN SLIME
For this challenge theme all you need to do is use lots of GREEN or GREEN as your POP of color.  Visit the Fresh Brewed Designs Blog for more details, and to see other samples for inspiration. The challenge runs until Nov. 3rd, so you have plenty of time to get your "green slime" on :)

I used the Could You Be Any Sweeter Cupcakes Digi Image along with the Fall Digi Sentiment.

I thought it would fun to give a nice shimmer and shine to my fall cupcake frosting - so I painted over with Smooch Illuminate and then embossed in clear. Kinda gives a "green slime" effect.

Happy Fall

Hello Friends! It's been a over a week since I posted last. YIKES! I was on a special assignment with a tight deadline, so bloggin' had to step aside for a bit.

Here's a card I made for this weeks Fresh Brewed Designs Challenge:
THE GREAT OUTDOORS - Anything that celebrates outdoors. Wildlife, Animals, trees, outdoor scenes, etc. 

I used Fresh Brewed Designs digi images: Fox, Beaver and Bear.  Aren't they soooo cute?!!! The sentiment is also from FBD - Fall (Handwritten). I adore Heather's handwritten sentiments.
 ...and I will continue to nag her about creating sentiments when she draws new images LOL

All the coloring is done with Spectrum Noir Markers: TN2, TN3, TN4, TN6, TN7, EB1, EB2, EB4, EB6, GB7, FS7, DG3, CG2, BG1, BG2, BG3, BG5, BG7, BG9

 After coloring the images, I trimmed and adhered with foam adhesive. They turned out so CUTE! Some fun die-cuts and leaf shaped sequins added great texture. This challenge is open to so many ideas! I had a great time coloring and creating this one.

Best Friends 4Ever

I thought this digi image worked out perfectly for my card design and "yellow" challenge. Is that fun or what?! The image is called "Reach for the Stars"

Since the image is a digi, I was able to type text on the star before printing. Awesome!

Window Shopping with Fresh Brewed Designs

Hello friends! Fresh Brewed Designs has a couple NEW digi images being released today. Check out Shoe Sale.

I love coloring fun stuff like this. And because it's a digi image, I was able to size it exactly to fit the diecut frame. To color, I used Spectrum Noir Marker:

• Skin - TN3, FS2, CR2
• Hair - GB4, GB8, GB10
• Awning - BT6, BT4, BT2, BT1
• Brick Wall and Ground - BG3, BG2, BG1, Blender
• Shelf in window - IG2, IG1, Blender
• Boot - EB6, EB2
• Blue and Black shoe - IG3, IG8, BT2, BT4
• Reds - DR2, CR5, PP3
• Sky - BT1, Blender
• Outlining - BG2, BG1

I colored a bit of clear glitter pen on the dress and the window. Actually, on the window, I can't remember if I scribbles a bit of IB1 marker and then lightened it with the blender. HA! But I do remember coloring the shimmer on it.

Fun in the Sun

Time for our next challenge over at Fresh Brewed Designs. So let's have some Fun in the Sun!

I used the Cutie Bug Snorkel digi image to create this tag.

Colored with Spectrum Noir Markers:

• Starfish - OR2, GB3, GB2, Blender
• Mask, fins, snorkel - IB1, IB2, IB3
• Bug - BGR5, BGR3, BGR1
• Ground - BT1, BT3, BT4 
• Image Outline - BT1, Blender

I added Crystal glitter to the bug wings and Art Glitter Blue Water glitter to the waves and ground. After I colored the starfish, I used the Blender marker and "dotted" with the marker tip, to create some texture. Then I added a few dots of white gel pen. Little details like that really make a big difference. To make the swim mask have shinny glass, I colored over with a Versamark marker - then heat embossed with clear embossing powder.
