Scruffy Little Kitten Sneak Peek

A fun NEW collection is coming! Scruffy Little Kitten from Crafter's Companion USA. These images are so cute and fun to color! Here's a card I designed using the new Billie set:

Isn't he the best?!!! This new collection is from the creator of the highly-popular Scruffy Little Cat range. There will be 12 new lovable stamp sets - 6 boys and 6 girls -- along with a NEW Papercrafting CD-ROM Collection.

I colored with Spectrum Noir Markers:
  • Skin - TN3, FS4, FS2, CR2
  • Hair - TN3, TN7
  • Pants - EB6, EB2
  • Shoes, Hat, Belt and Horse Mane - IG8, IG6, IG4, IG1
  • Shirt - IG4, IG1, EB1, Blender
  • Horse - EB6, EB2, EB5
  • Reds - DR6, CR11, CR5, IG6
  • Ground - EB1, EB2
  • Cactus - DG3, DG2
  • Image Outlining - IG1, IG2

The black and white gingham paper is from the Scruffy Little Cat 6" x 6" Premium Darks Paper Pad. I also used the Starry Eyed Embossing Folder with some red paper, and die-cut & embossed Die'sire Essentials Stars from the same paper. The sentiment is stamped and adhered on a die-cut from Die'sire Scalloped Tags die set.

I painted on some accents of the Brushed Pewter Distress Stain, and added some straw speckles to the ground. I had a few scraps left over, so I decorated the inside of the card.

Stay tuned! The Scruffy Little Kitten Collection is set to be released at Crafter's Companion USA very very soon!

Destinations Spirit of Adventure

Have you had a chance to see the NEW Destinations Collection that was released over at Crafter's Companion USA? Magnaficient images, sentiments and a Papercrafting Twin CD-ROM! THUD!

Here's a card I made using the new Spirit of Adventure stamp set along with some of the printed digital papers and elements.

This looks like several layers of designer papers, but it's only 3 panels. Just wait till you see all the goodies on the Destinations Papercrafting CD-ROM. Thousands! All I did was print, trim, ink the edges and add glitter to the base layer. No hoarding these beautiful designer papers. Go ahead and cut 'em up. Yeah...YOU know what I'm talkin' about...
  Just print more. ;)

The image and sentiment are stamped on white cardstock, then colored with Spectrum Noir Markers and Blendable Colored Pencils

Skin
   Markers: FS2, FS4, TN2
   Pencils: 003, 117
Wings
   Markers: TB1, BT8, BT1, JG1, BT5
   Pencils: 071, 001
Banner and Dress
   Markers: EB1, EB2, BG1, Blender
   Pencils: 112, 117, 001
Hair
   Markers: TN6, TN3

To add sparkle and shimmer on the wings, I added crystal glitter and painted on some Sheer Shimmer Spritz. I also stamped and colored the banner again, cut it out and adhered the ends flat - popping up the center area with foam adhesive. It's a bit time consuming...but the dimension it gives is so worth it!

House-Mouse Coloring Tutorial

Hello everyone. Go grab your Spectrum Noir Blendable Colored Pencils -- because I've got a coloring tutorial for you over on the Spectrum Noir Blog.

Coloring House-Mouse

In case you didn't know, I absolutely LOVE House-Mouse stamps. I've been on the House-Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge Design Team since it started, back in 2008. I also used to teach classes on how to color these adorable images. Yep...I love these furry little friends :)

My absolute favorite way to color House-Mouse mice is with colored pencils. The tutorial takes you step-by-step on how to color the image using the fantastic Spectrum Noir Blendable Colored Pencils. It's so fun to see a plain stamped image come to life right before your eyes! I hope you give it a try. Here's a peek:

Amazing how it goes from that to this...

Hop on over to the Spectrum Noir Blog to see the tutorial. Leave a comment and let me know you stopped by.

Destinations Sneak Peek

YAY! I get to share a sneak peek of the NEW Desitnations Collection from Crafter's Companin USA. I can't wait for the release, later this week, so YOU can see ALL the products! GREAT stuff I tell ya!

With a little masking and ink sponging, I was able to make a fantastic scene using 2 of the NEW Destinations EZ Mount Stamp Sets - Patterns of Life, and Spirit of Adventure. The sentiment is stamped from the new Life is a Journey set. I also used the NEW Destinations CD-ROM to print the background designer digi paper. The CD-ROM, gives you tons of printable papers, images, embellishments and more! baaaBAM! It's a MUST have!

I colored with Spectrum Noir Markers:
  • Waves - TB1, TB2, TB4,
  • Boat - BGR1, CT4, Blender
  • Trees - EB2, EB6, DB3, CG4, CG1
  • Frame and Ribbon - GB10, GB11, GB6, GB4, GB1, Blender
  • Sky - BT1, IB1, Blender
  • Outline Shading BT1

The bird is sponged with black ink using the Sheena Douglas Paris Springtime Stencil. For  shimmer and bling, I added some golden rhinestone stickers and painted on the frame and sentiment with Gold Sheer Shimmer Spritz. For added dimension, I stamped the frame again to color and cut out portions of the trees leaves. They are popped up with foam adhesive.

Make sure to keep an eye out on the Crafter's Companion USA Website and our Facebook Page for all the release news later this week!

Window Shopping with Fresh Brewed Designs

Hello friends! Fresh Brewed Designs has a couple NEW digi images being released today. Check out Shoe Sale.

I love coloring fun stuff like this. And because it's a digi image, I was able to size it exactly to fit the diecut frame. To color, I used Spectrum Noir Marker:

  • Skin - TN3, FS2, CR2
  • Hair - GB4, GB8, GB10
  • Awning - BT6, BT4, BT2, BT1
  • Brick Wall and Ground - BG3, BG2, BG1, Blender
  • Shelf in window - IG2, IG1, Blender
  • Boot - EB6, EB2
  • Blue and Black shoe - IG3, IG8, BT2, BT4
  • Reds - DR2, CR5, PP3
  • Sky - BT1, Blender
  • Outlining - BG2, BG1

I colored a bit of clear glitter pen on the dress and the window. Actually, on the window, I can't remember if I scribbles a bit of IB1 marker and then lightened it with the blender. HA! But I do remember coloring the shimmer on it.

Head on over the the Fresh Brewed Designs website to see the New Digi's. See what the design team is sharing with these images on the Fresh Brewed Designs Blog and on the Facebook Page.

Birthday Balloons

Happy Friday! How about another fun challenge? This one is just my style.

Spectrum Noir June Challenge - Sparkle and Bling

The stamps are from Eat Cake Graphics - Oval balloon, Round balloon and Wobbly balloon. Aren't they just the best?! The Happy Birthday Typewriter Text  sentiment is classic!

I stamped balloons on the new Spectrum Aqua Watercolor Cardstock. It's wonderful! Bright white and perfect for stamping! The balloons are watercolored with Spectrum Aqua Watercolor Markers - Gold, Aquamarine and Bud Green.

Since this was for the a Sparkle and Bling challenge, I used Sparkle Sheer Shimmer Spritz to paint with, instead of water. OH MY did they turn out sparkly! I need a gallon jug of this stuff! LOL.
For some bling, I added a few blue rhinestones. The sentiment is stamped and heat embossed in white.

Check out all the other great stamps over at Eat Cake Graphics. I can't get enough of them!
