Don't you just LOVE THIS?!!! I sure do! I used the new Leoni Pujol Folk Art Fun Photopolymer Stamp Set and the Entwined Love 5"x7" Embossing Folder.

This design looks like a lot of work, but it's so easy! You can whip it out in less than 30 minutes!

It's so hard to capture sparkle on camera...but if you look close, I added Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle Pen to the bursts coming out from the rhinestone on the heart.

Create-A-Card for a Friend

TGIF! I'm up bright and early today. Going to watch my daughter's 8th grade promotion ceremony. Today is her last day of Junior High School. Next stop...High School. YIKES

The rest of the day I'm planning on spending in my craft room.  I'll be stamping, coloring, die-cutting...and who knows what else. Just gonna have fun! Will you be crafting today? How about making a card for a friend? Here's one I made using the new Friends Create-A-Card Die from Crafter's Companion USA.

To make this card, I took a piece of orange cardstock (one side orange, other side white) and made a top-fold card base. I die-cut and embossed on the front of the card, then sanded off the raised embossed areas.

Next, I took a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" panel of white cardstock and stamped the "friend definition" image with green ink. I adhered it flat to the back of die-cut card front. Not only did the stamped panel add dimensional interest, it added extra stability to the card front. The flowers are die cut, embellished with enamel dots and glitter, then popped up with foam tape. The leaves are die cut and embossed, then sponged with green ink.

Create-A-Card dies are so fun! And the cool thing is they are made to fit perfectly on a standard A2 card. But you can do WAY more with them than just a basic card. Go check out all the great projects our design team made in the Inspiration Gallery on the Crafter's Companion USA website HERE and on our Pinterest Board HERE

Have a great day full of crafting,

Bebunni Daisy Dies

Happy Friday!

I have a crafty confession. I save cardstock scraps. LOTS of them. I even have them sorted out in zip lock baggies by color family! Yep, paper scrap hoarder Lori. One of my friends (you know who you are) is NOT a scrap saver. When we craft together, I snatch up her scraps as fast as she tosses them in the little trash bucket! Can you imagine?! LOL! I just can't let good cardstock got to waste. Actually, my friend would tell you it's not just paper scraps that I save. But that's another story for another day ;)

Here's a card I made using the Bebunni Floral Daisy Dies from Crafter's Companion to die-cut these small flowers. A great way to use up perfectly good scraps of colored cardstock.

These little daisy flowers are so cute! I just love the embossing detail. I die-cut out several of each size and color and popped them up with foam adhesive. The stems are drawn with a fine line black marker. I happened to use the Black Spectrum Aqua Marker. So clean and simple.

The sentiment is from Sentimentals Everyday stamp set - Memories are Made. I diecut the tag using Die'sire Decorative Dies - Scalloped Tags set. It's popped up with foam adhesive and tied with lime green twine from May Arts. Two little orange rhinestones added on the ends for some bling-bling.

What's YOUR crafty confession?

Leave a comment on this post. I would love to hear about it!

Enjoy your day,

Make it Sparkle Challenge

Hey friends! There's still time to join us for this months Crafter's Companion USA "Add Some Sparkle" Challenge.  Get all the details HERE.

I have some serious sparkle on my card...

This image is from the Crafter's Companion Angelica & Adams Clear Stamp Collection - Bunches of Joy set.

I colored with Spectrum Noir Markers as follows:
  • Skin FS2, FS3, TN2, CR3
  • Hair TN2, TN3, TN4,TN7
  • Greens CG1, CG3, CG4, Blender
  • Dress YL1, YL2, OR1, GB8, Blender
  • Flowers OR1, OR2, GB5, BG2, BG5
  • Shoes and Bouquet Wrapper BG2, BG5, Blender
  • Background BT1, BT2, BT3

Here in the closeup you can see all my sparkle, shimmer and shine...

I added green, orange, yellow & crystal glitter. Then I scattered a bunch of orange rhinestone stickers in the flower bouquet, down on the grass area, and on the sentiment tag. For even more sparkle I painted Sparkle Sheer Shimmer Spritz on her dress. As if THAT wasn't enough, I painted Frost Sheer Shimmer Spritz on her shoes and flower wrapper. Hold on...it gets even BETTER. I colored with a clear glaze pen on her shoes and the flower wrapper.

The shinny embossed sentiment from Vintage Floral Sentiments - Phrases set is stamped on Coastal Pearl Shimmering Cardstock, which is diecut from Die'sire Scalloped Tags Dies. The main image panel is mat on the shimmering cardstock. Even the little ribbon has shimmer and sparkle. I gotta give honorable mention to the fussy cutting for added dimension. WOOHOO!

I challenge you to make a card that has even more sparkle on it than mine. Have fun!

Friendship Tattoos

Grab your Spectrum Noir coloring tools and some stamps...because it's time for our next challenge!

Spectrum Noir September Monthly Challenge: Friendships

I love stamping and coloring scene cards. This card design was SO MUCH FUN! The sentiment was perfect for the friendship theme! I colored everything with my Spectrum Noir Markers...then came in and added shading with a Spectrum Noir Colored Pencil 120 (black). It's amazing how much depth and dimension you can get by adding a little colored pencil over the markers.

With a little stamp masking...and a lot of fun coloring...my card came together so cool!  All the stamps are from Art Impressions. I have just a "few" of 'em! *wink* *wink*  I also used the Tim Holtz Brick Wall die which turned out awesome. I diecut Red Chalkboard Cardstock -- sponged on some Black Soot Distress Ink -- then very lightly colored on some 001 (white) pencil. It's hard to see in the picture...but I added black rhinestones along the top and bottom edges of the brick wall -- plus 1 on the dog collar.

The window awning is cut out and popped up. The dog and the front of the easel street sign are cut out and adhered flat. All other images were stamped directly on the paper and colored.

Spectrum Noir Markers:
Dog - GB8, GB10
Bricks - DR3, DR7, BG8, BG2
Sign - TN1, EB2
Sidewalk, Window Frame, Awning, Lantern - GG1, GG2, GG3, GG4
Window and Lantern Glass - IB1
Light bulb - GG3, GG1
Papers in window - CR2, CR8, CT4, EG2, CG1, LY2, BT3, BT4, OR2, CT4, PL3

Sentiment Show-off

Hello friends :)

It's time to show off our sentiments! Crafter's Companion has the perfect challenge going on this month that will put our sentiment stamps center stage! Go check out the challenge info. on the Crafter's Companion Facebook Page.

I'm soooo lovin' this quote! I can totally relate...can you?  It's one of the stamps from Crafter's Companion Sentimentals - Friends & Family set.

I white embossed the stamp on a Mermaid Cardstock die-cut label. Then I sponged Mermaid Ink right over the top of the embossed sentiment. I used an old rag to buff it around and wipe off the ink that got on the white embossing. It really gave depth to the piece!

Next, I took a white gel pen and hand-doodled around the outer edge of the label. The label is adhered to card with foam adhesive. I embellished with a bow made from paper cording and a couple paper flowers from my stash. The center of the flowers were a yellow color...so I just colored them with a black Spectrum Noir marker.

I used the Chevrons Embossilicious Embossing Folder from Crafter's Companion on my card base and rounded the corners with a punch. A panel of black cardstock and designer paper along and more of that white paper cording are adhered flat to the card base. I really love how this card turned out!

I hope you find time to play with some of your sentiment stamps :)

DIY Background

Have you checked out our Monthly Challenge for June over at Spectrum Noir? This month is all about Backgrounds. Get all the details on the Challenge Entry Facebook Page. For my background sample I created this striped pattern using Spectrum Noir Markers. This technique is sooooooo easy you'll be creating DIY backgrounds in all the colors of the rainbow...all day long!

Using both the fine tip end and chisel tip end of your Spectrum Noir Markers, you get a variety of line widths. I wanted the lines to have a whimsical feel to go along with my images - so I made them freehand. If you want your lines perfectly straight, try using a ruler as a guide.

I colored this adorable Eat Cake Graphics stamp with my markers....then trimmed and mounted with foam adhesive on my striped background panel.  "friend" is a diecute that I covered with glitter. This clean and simple (CAS) design is one of my favorite "go to" layouts.

Spectrum Noir Markers used on my project:
CG1, CG3, IB1, TN1, TN2, FS2, CR3, GB1, GB4, GB9, BT3, BT5, CT2

  • Stripe Background: CG3, BT3, CT2
  • Dog: GB9, TN1
  • Collar: BT3, BT5
  • Dog Tag: CT2, GB4
  • Hair: BG9
  • Skin: FS2, CR3, TN2
  • Pants: BT3, BT5
  • Shirt: CG1, CG3, BT3, BT5
  • Shoes: GB1, GB9
  • Cone: GB4
  • Ice Cream: IB1

Now it's YOUR turn!

Forever Friends

HELLOOOOO FRIDAY!!!! WOOP WOOP!

I'm having fun playing with NEW Lizzie Anne Designs goodies! I just LOVE their stuff! You can now find their stamps and dies over at Simon Says Stamps.

To make this card I used 2 stamps sets: Chalkboard Love and Hey Sugar.

The first thing I did is stamp the large heart on kraft cardstock with Versamark ink. Next I used Tim Holtz Distress Markers (Festive Berries, Gathered Twigs and Peacock Feathers) to ink up the stamps. Using the markers instead of ink pads is how you easily get all the different colors on one stamp. SOOOO EASY...and the results....baaaBAMMM!! All the stamps I used on the kraft cardstock panel are from the Chalkboard Love stamp set.

I stamped the "awesome" banner a second time and trimmed out then popped up on foam tape.  For added dimension I lightly shaded with a white colored pencil.

The scalloped border is from the Hey Sugar stamp set. I stamped it on the A Muse Studio Mermaid Cardstock card base with Peacock Feathers Distress Ink.

Isn't it amazing how we can create such awesome cards with 3 stamps?! And this is why I am addicted to stamping!

Thanks sooooo much for stopping in today!
