Christmas CAC Sneak Peek

WOW! Wait till you see the Christmas Create-A-Card A2 Dies we have coming out later this week at Crafter's Companion USA.

Here's a sneak peek...

This NEW CAC Christmas Die is called We Three Kings. It's beyond amazing!

I diecut and embossed 2 layers - 1 using Crafter's Companion Black Pearl Shimmering Cardstock, the other from a gray cardstock. After cutting and embossing the grey cardstock, I left the paper in the die and used a sponge dauber to sponged on Memento Gray Flannel Ink. Next, I trimmed off the areas I didn't want and lightly sponged the Gray Ink around all the edges - then mounted with foam adhesive. I love how it turned out!

To get the white stars, I diecut the top portion of the die with white cardstock. The sentiment, from the Vintage Christmas Collection Sentimentals Season's Greetings Stamp Set, is stamped and embossed. I also stamped another greeting on the inside of the card. It says "Enjoy the Spirit of the Season" (from the same stamp set)

For the background, I airbrushed with Spectrum Noir Markers EB6 and TB8 on a piece of Kraft Cardstock. It turned out exactly like I planned. (Imagine that! LOL)

I used a beautiful piece of paper from the Vintage Christmas Collection 6"x6" paper pad on the card base, lightly sponged the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. The card card base is 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" and the CAC Die part is 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".

Go check out more sneak peeks of the NEW CAC Christmas Dies over on the Crafter's Companion USA Facebook Page.

Have a great day!

Let it Snow

I'm back again today with another Crafter's Companion Party Paws Christmas card using the NEW Snow Much Fun stamp set. Yep...I'm kinda addicted to these new images ;)

Main image is stamped on Spectrum Noir Ultra Smooth Premium White Cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. Then I masked off the main image and stamped the sentiment is with Memento Summer Sky Ink. This is a great way to get more out of your sentiments.

I used my score board to create an embossed frame around the panel. Then used a piercing tool to make all the debossed dots. The card base is Kraft Cardstock embossed with Embossalicious Petite Dots 6x6 Embossing Folder.

You can see in the closeup pics how I popped up some of the main image areas - the panda on the right -- completely cut out and popped up -- the panda on the left I popped up the front paws.

White flock and glitter accents on the hats. Glitter and Shaved Ice on the ground. Glitter on the falling snow and covered with 3D Crystal Lacquer. I also used 3D Crystal Lacquer on all the noses and the snowman buttons. This card has some serious sparkle and shine!

Spectrum Noir Markers:
Snowman Hat & Scarf - TB1, TB3, TB4, IG1, IG4, IG6, Blender
Snowman Man - TB1, IG1, Blender
Snowman Nose and Buttons - IG1, IG6, IG8

Panda Scarfs - PP3, CR5, DR2, TB1, TB3

STAY TUNED!
I have a tutorial to share with you showing how I color the Party Paws Panda with Spectrum Noir Markers. Watch for that blog post later this week.

Dream a Little Dream

Hey there crafty friends!

I'm STILL having tons of fun playing with watercolors. Have you jumped on the watercolor boat yet? It's completely addicting!

On this card I did a "Stamped Emboss Resist + Watercolor Wash" technique. I stamped the background image from Crafter's Companion Stamp-It Australia Dreamer - Once in a Lifetime set on watercolor cardstock with VersaMark ink and embossed with clear embossing powder. Then I applied a "wash" of watercolor paints.

I KNEW this stamp would work perfectly for this technique! Isn't it DREAMY! Like....UmWow! Speaking of UmWow...the "flair" button and chipboard stars are from UmWowStudio.com. UmWowStudio is a family owned business specializing in laser cut chipboard elements and masks for the paper crafting and mixed media community. You can check 'em out HERE. They were so kind to offer our design team some of their products to play with. Thank you!

I took the chipboard stars and did a couple layers of white pigment ink -- then added holographic embossing powder. They're absolutely stunning against the background.

I added a few blue rhinestones and some silver cording...then mat the panel on dark purple cardstock. The entire piece is adhered to an ocean blue card base with double-sided adhesive foam.

Have a dreamy weekend :)

Products used on card:
Tim Holtz Watercolor Cardstock
Watercolor Paints
Clear Embossing Powder

Sunset for Father's Day

Hey bloggers! Have you played our "Masculine" challenge yet this month over at Crafter's Companion? You still have time!

Click HERE  to go directly to the USA Entry Form for the May Challenge. Click HERE to go directly to the UK Entry Form for the May Challenge. Also, at the top of both the USA and UK Facebook Pages, where the Twitter and Pinterest feeds are, there's a tab that says 'Monthly Challenge'. You can click on that to enter as well.

I have another card to share using the Silhouette Highlands set from the Crafter's Companion.

This card has a pocket on the inside for a gift card/movie tickets/picture/etc. I stamped the lattice image with Versamark ink - then did 2nd generation stamping over that, with black ink, using the pine branch image.

The "Happy Father's Day" stamp is from one of my favorite Crafter's Companion Sentimentals Set - Friends and Family. I stamped the trees image with Versamark -- and then stamped the sentiment in black.

To create that beautiful sunset - stamp the mountains image on a piece of plain white printer paper - then trim. This will be used to mask off the mountains when sponging inks for the sunset.

Stamp the mountains image as desired on a piece of cardstock. Place the mask on top of the stamped image and sponge inks to create the sunset. I used a circular motion when sponging. These inks blend soooooo good!

I just held the mask in place to keep it from shifting -- but you could used a couple pieces of washi tape - or even some temporary adhesive on the back of the mask.

Trim the panel  to the desired size and finish stamping all the other images to complete the scene.

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Girls are the Prettiest

Crafter's Companion has a BRAND NEW crafting range!!! Scruffy Little Cats

Awesome! If you wanna know more about this product and the artist, Sharon Sumpton, click HERE.

Now...let's get right to my card design...shall we. One of my favorites of the new  Easy Mount Stamp Sets is:
Autumn

Isn't she darling! I so want her hair! These images are larger...which means they can take center stage on a card. AND...because they are larger...coloring them is AWESOME fun! I used my Spectrum Noir markers to color. I even did a little blender marker magic on her coat to create the flowers.

Spectrum Noir Markers: BT1, BT2, BT4, BT5, FS2, FS3, CR3, FS8, CR7, GB1, GB2, GB4, GB7, GB8, EB1, EB2, EB5, CG2, DG1, DG2, DG3, BG4, BG6, BG8, BG10, Blender

I painted a little Sheer Shimmer Spritz Sparkle on her eyelids and some glaze pen on her lips, button, purse and boots. I also added little flecks of some golden yellow glitter on the tiny spots around her hair and the flowers on the ground. I wanted you to see the sparkle and shimmer and shine...so I tilted the card and took this picture...special...just for ya'all

The quote, by Audrey Hepburn, is a stamp that comes in the set. Isn't it perfect?! I added some flower-shaped sequins with black rhinestones in the centers.

Thanks for shopping by...I mean stopping by! LOL

Sunset on the Highlands

I love a good challenge....and this month our challenge at Crafter's Companion is to make a Masculine card (or project). YAY! I love creating guy cards!

For my "guy" card I used a stamp from Crafter's Companion called Silhouette Highlands. It's from the Sheena's A Little Bit Scenic collection.

To create the sun -- I made a stencil by punching a circle from a piece of scrap paper. Then I cut out a mask of the mountains stamp. Next -- put the mask down on the mountains you have stamped on your cardstock...and then place the circle stencil on top. Then I inked and shaded the sun using 3 colors of Radiant Neon Inks with large sponges. The best part is next...lifting off the stencil and mask to reveal the sun setting behind the mountains! Sooooo cool!

Making a faux wood cardstock base was quick and easy! Here's the before and after pics:

All I did was take the Distress Ink pad directly to the paper (Naturals Ivory CS from StampinUP!)and swipe it down. Do that across the entire card front.

Did you see the other card I made using this same stamp set? You can see it HERE. Oh...and stay tuned...I have 2 more that I made with this set! Yup...I was havin' sooo much fun that day!

I hope you have time to make a few "man or boy" cards this month. They can be for any age ;)

Have a great week!

Hello friends!

BIG NEWS!!! Spectrum Noir and Crafter's Companion USA announced the release of the NEW Spectrum Noir Blendable Colored Pencils!!! Can I get a WHAT WHAT!!! They're now available to order on the Crafter's Companion USA website! Click HERE to see!!!!

I colored the image on this card using only the new pencils and blending solution.

These pencils ROCK!

Here's the colors I used: 001, 003, 004, 005, 009, 015, 016, 022, 037, 038, 056, 083, 084, 088, 089, 091, 099, 104, 107

After I was done coloring, I added tiny little dots on her dress with a white gel pen. Then I added glitter accents to the flowers and grass. (I can't help it...glitter is an addiction!) To finish off the image panel, I rounded the upper left corner and then sponged Distress inks. I also sponged the edges of the card base and the patterned paper panel with distress ink. The main image layer is mounted with 3D foam adhesive.

The Spectrum Noir Blendable Pencils are available in 5 sets. If you would like to color the Angelica image like I did, you're gonna 3 of the sets: Essentials, Primaries and Floral.

Bloomin' Beautiful

Hi friends! I've got a card to share today using one of the NEW Sheena's A Little Bit Sketchy Easy Mount Stamp Sets from Crafter's Companion. The set is called Bloomin' Beautiful. I was super excited to see these new sets with big flowers! LOVE! Crafter's Companion USA has a bunch of new goodies...go see HERE.

I stamped the flower 2x with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored with Spectrum Noir Markers (colors listed below), then cut out and stacked together with foam tape. I didn't stack 'em straight on top of each other. I wanted the flower to look more full...not just dimensional.

To make the panel behind the flower, I used a piece of white cardstock and stamped one of the sentiments from the Memories are Made set using Bundled Sage Distress Ink. Then I sponged distress ink all around the edges of the panel (Antique Linen, Gathered Twigs and Mustard Seed). The sentiment is heat embossed with white embossing powder. The panel is adhered to a piece of onyx cardstock - then mounted on the card base with 3D foam tape.

I added black rhinestones to the flower centers. The 3 rhinestones on the panel were light blue - but I colored them with the HB3 Spectrum Noir marker so they would match.

No leaf stamp? Not a problem! Since this stamp set doesn't have a leaf image...I just used one of the flowers. I colored it green and cut the petals into leaves. I KNOW!!! GENIUS...RIGHT?!

Spectrum Noir Markers:  HB1, HB2, HB3, DG1, DG2, DG3, IG6, IG8
