Let's ROCK 'N ROLL!

I LOVE these "Rock N Roll" Style stamp sets by Sheena Douglass from Crafter's Companion. SIX NEW SETS NOW AVAILABLE! Go get them all! ;)

I used 3 of the sets on my card. The main image is from the Shout! set. The sentiments are from the Sing set. The stars and distress are from the Grunge Band set.

All the images are stamped on Crafter's Companion Kraft Cardstock. Soooooo quick and easy...but it looks like a lot went into it...right?! Just sponge some distress ink around the edges of the panel and BAM! It totally comes to life! I also used a white gel pen to fill in the word Sing on the sentiment. Totally makes it pop, doesn't it! On the stars, I painted on some Moonlight Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen.

The panel is mounted to black pearl shimmering cardstock and mounted to a card base made from the shimmer cs. I love how the brick designer paper frames the main panel. That paper comes from the new Just For Men Signature Collection by Sara Davies - 6"x6" Paper Pad Urban Collection.

June 2016 Calendar Page

It's June, and things are heating up outside! We're supposed to get up to 118 today!!! I think I'll stay inside and craft ;)

For my June calendar page, I created a wonderful little beach scene. Somewhere I would LOVE to be right now!

I colored the look of water and sand on the panel using Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pens. Moonstone from the Perfect Pastels Set and Sand Dune from the Vintage Beach Set.

I used 3 different Crafter's Companion stamp sets. From the Sheena A Little Bit Scenic - Silhouette Highlands, I used the sandcastle. The umbrella is from Sheena A Little Bit Sketchy - Only Words - Through The Rain.  The sun is from Textures - Walls and Corner.

Designer Tip: Using partial images is a great way to get more bang for your buck with stamp sets. The umbrella image on this project is located on a large sentiment stamp from the Through The Rain set. It worked perfectly for this little beach scene!

To stamp the umbrella, I inked it up with Ranger Salty Ocean Distress Ink, and then colored over that with the Blue Topaz Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen. For the pole, I colored it on the stamp stamp with the Charcoal Spectrum Aqua Marker from the Essentials Set.

For the sandcastle, I inked it up with Antique Linen Distress Ink and then colored over that with a Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen in Sand Dune from the Vintage Beach Set. I inked the flag on the stamp using Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen in Solar Red from the Summer Time Set.

For the sun, I inked up first with Neon Electric Yellow Ink, then dabbed a bit of Neon Electric Orange ink, then colored over with Spectrum Noir Sparkle Moonlight from the Shades of Spring Set . To make the circle on the sun, I punched out circle from white cardstock and applied ink direct to paper with same neon orange and yellow inks. Then I brushed on Moonlight Sparkle Pen. The circle is adhered flat and trimmed.

I'm going to enjoy looking at this simple little summer beach scene for the entire month.

Summer hugs,

NEW Sheena Torn Stamps

Hello my crafty friends! Did you see all the NEW Sheena Douglass "Torn" stamp sets over on Crafter's Companion USA? Well.....if not...you have GOT to go check 'em out. AWESOME!

Six new stamp sets added to the "A Little Bit Sketchy" stamp collection featuring flowers, butterflies and more! They have a really cool and realistic "torn paper" effect and come with the most perfect sentiments and supporting images. I made this card design using the Cherry Blossom set.

Isn't that soooooo COOL?!

I wanted my design to have a clean and simple feel, and I'm super happy with how it turned out. I think what I like most about these new "Torn" images is that they are so unique. I've never seen any stamps like these before...anywhere. I can't wait to color all the other images! Idea overload I tell ya!

I colored with Spectrum Noir Markers, then added shimmer with Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pens. Check out the sparkle in the closeup pic. WOW!

Would you like to see how I colored this?

Well stay tuned! I've got a coloring tutorial coming up very soon over at Crafter's Companion USA!

Love & Romance

Crafter's Companion added more beautiful products to the Sara's Signature Collection. Check out all the NEW Love & Romance products on the website HERE.

The beautiful Love & Romance products are perfect for weddings, bridal showers, birthdays, love, friendship and more. Here's a card I designed using the Love & Romance 6" x 6" paper pad.

I love love LOVE this new paper pad! The large heart in the center was trimmed out using an craft knife. I saved the cut-out piece to use on another project. That's a great way to get more use from 1 sheet of designer paper. I'll be sharing the project using that scrap piece very soon ;)

I adhered a white cardstock panel behind the paper - which I cut out the heart center on as well. In addition to giving a nice mat around the patterned paper, it added stability to the popped up panel. The entire panel is then adhered with dimensional foam tape a gray cardbase, which I a stamped and heat embossed a sentiment on before hand. (This would also make a great frame for a picture!) The stamp is from Sheena's A Little Bit Sketchy - Only Words - Through the Rain stamp set.

To balance out the design, I trimmed a few floral elements from another sheet out of the paper pad. What a fantastic way to use up some scraps. Even if it's only a partial flower, you can still use them, as I did with the larger flower. I simply tucked the end under the panel. No one will ever know.

Rainbows and Daisies

Hello friends! Here's a fun and cheerful card that is sure brighten someones day.

I diecut and embossed the Thank You So Much Edge'ables Only Words die on a white cardstock panel. Then I stamped the daisies from Sheena A Little Bit Sketchy Poppies and Daisies set. I used Versafine Onyx Black ink. I love how that ink catches all the fine little details of stamp images so perfectly.

To create the bright rainbow of colors, I sponged a white card base with distress inks. The white die-cut Edge'ables panel really pops with the brightly colored background! A few shiny colored sequins is all that was needed to give that extra little bit of interest.

Bloomin' Beautiful!

Happy Saturday! It's a beautiful warm sunny day here in Phoenix. It will be in the mid 80's. It's Bloomin' Beautiful! Which...is actually the name of the stamp set I used to make this fantastic flower background paper. Check it...

I made that background using 1 stamp! Seriously folks...1 flower stamp and 3 post it note masks that I made of the image. No coloring. No embossing. No special positioning tools. Masking is one of my favorite techniques. Have you tried it lately? You totally should!

The stamp I used is from a Crafter's Companion Sheena Little Bit Sketchy Stamp Set called Bloomin' Beautiful. I stamped it 3 times and trimmed them out to make 3 masks. (You can use a post-it note or any other masking paper you have on hand.) Next, I stamped 1 flower on a piece of white cardstock. Then I places the mask over the stamped flower, and stamped another flower. I put another mask on that flower and stamped again. You get the idea. Just keep moving the mask on top of the flower(s) where you are going to be stamping to avoid overlapping the stamped image. Easy as pie.

Once I finished all the flowers, I trimmed and mat on a piece Crafter's Companion Black Pearl Shimmering Cardstock and adhered to the card. For the sentiment, I stamped and white embossed on Black Pearl Shimmering Cardstock. The sentiment is from the Only Words Through The Rain stamp set -- which is also from the Crafter's Companion Sheena's A Little Bit Sketchy Collection. I adhered that to a panel of Coastal Pearl Shimmering Cardstock with dimensional foam. A few aqua rhinestones and satin ribbon completed the design.

TIPS: Stamp a full 8 1/2" x 11" sheet of cardstock, then cut into 4 panels. Great way to create 4 cards all at the same time! If you are in a rush to make a card, try using a larger flower image. Less stamping is needed, which makes for a quick and easy card background!

Hope you give this technique a try. Have a wonderful day!

NEW Edge'ables Fancy Borders from Crafter's Companion USA

Happy Friday all you crafty peeps!

Crafter's Companion USA just released 5 NEW Fancy Borders in the Edge'ables Metal Dies Collection that are gonna BLOW.YOU.AWAY! You're gonna want them all. Yep! That's why CC put together a special bundle deal for you. Check it out HERE.

I designed my project using the NEW Butterfly Dreams Edge'ables Die.

Isn't this great! I love that the dies have both positive and negative details. And the pop-up areas!!! LOVE! The wings are attached...but you can lift them to give even more dimension!

The stamps I used on the inside left panel are from Sheena's A Little Bit Sketchy - The Butterfly Effect. I stamped the butterfly with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored with Spectrum Noir Markers: GG2, GG4, GB1, GB4, GB5, BT2, BT5, BT1, BT2 and the Blender marker. Then I stamped the sentiment images using Memento Pistachio and Teal Zeal, first stamping off on scratch paper to lighten the ink.

The stamp on the right panel is from a Stamp-It Australia set - Friendship Sentiment. Stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and Pistachio. I also added some clear sequins.

I die-cut the Butterfly Edge'ables die on the from card panel. The sentiment is stamped with VersaMark ink and heat emboss in white. A few sequin and ribbon tied around - then adhered to card front with dimensional foam adhesive. The other 2 colored cardstock panels are adhered flat.
