Just Be-gauze

Happy Halloween!

Here's a card that can be used for anytime of the year.

This adorable mummy stamp is from My Favorite Things. I colored using an amazing coloring tutorial I found over on the Spectrum Noir Blog called "Sepia Coloring." It's one of the many great tutorials we have available, showing how to use your Spectrum Noir coloring products.

I colored using Spectrum Noir Marker colors as listed in the tutorial

  • Skin - TN3, TN2, TN1, FS2
  • Hair - EB5, EB4, TN5, TN3
  • Mummy Gauze - GB8, EB2, EB1, Blender

I diecut the image, and also diecut another using a dark grey cardstock. I adhered the image to the "shadow" diecut with foam tape. FUN! The strips on the card base are diecut using My Favorite Things Washi Tape Dies and then sponged with Antique Linen Distress Ink.

That's it for today. Time to go pass have some Halloween Fun with the kids!

Color Burst Skully Flowers

Hellooooooo crafters! Happy Halloween Eve :) Today I have a card featured over on the Eat Cake Graphics Blog. Check it...

The Skully Flowers stamp is a MUST HAVE in your collection! It can be used as a focal image - like I did on my card - or part of a scenery. You could also stamp it in a line to create a fun border. But check this out...ink up only the grass parts for an all-purpose grass or flower image! Using stamps for more than they were meant for gives you extra bang for your buck. I love using stamps like that.

I was super excited to play with my new Color Bursts from Ken Oliver Crafts. It was so easy to created a bright yellow and orange watercolor background for my Halloween card. After the watercolor panel was completely dry, I diecut and trimmed a scalloped frame.

I stamped in black and clear heat embossed for added texture and shine. The sentiment stamp actually says "Witching You A Very Happy Halloween" - but I only inked up the “Happy Halloween” portion.  Yet again, another way to get more bang for my buck using 1 stamp. I embellished with a few diecut glitter stars, orange rhinestones and a wrap of black twine.

Here's a card I dug up from last year.

See how I used the same 2 stamps in a completely different way. The Witching You (text) sentiment is stamped repeatedly to create a fun background pattern. The Skully Flowers image is stamped across the bottom of the orange panel, creating a fun tone-on-tone background scene. Super easy! No patterned paper needed for this card. (Click HERE to see last years blog post.)

(S)hop on over to the Eat Cake Graphics website and check out all the fantastic stamps. Oh my gosh...I want them ALL! And don't forget to visit the "A Sprinkling of Samples and Techniques" blog for TONS of inspiration.

Crazy about boxes!

I absolutely LOVE making boxes, bags and other fun "gift giving" containers. Here's yet another great box project I created.

When constructing containers out of paper, it really does make a difference when using a good quality cardstock. Crafter's Companion USA has the hookup!!! They offer both plain white Construction Cardstock and high quality heavyweight Designer Card Packs!

I used the 11x17 Timeless Card Pack for this project. Each pack comes with 20 sheets (10 designs x 2 sheets.)

If you have stamps (of course you do!), you can make custom tissue paper. I used Golden Glitz Delicata Ink to stamp some butterflies from the Sheena's A Little Bit Scenic - Flying Colors stamp set on a piece of plain white tissue paper.

On the top of the box, I layered a piece of the Timeless cardstock on top of a slighter larger piece of cardstock that I edged with a Gold Leafing Pen.

Here's a close-up of the drawer pull-knob. I made it with some of my beading supplies. Super simple, yet really brings an extra bit of elegance as well as functionality.

This project was another one I did that aired earlier this month on the Home Shopping Network.

Green Slime Challenge

Hello Crafters! Today starts another great challenge over at Fresh Brewed Designs. Check it out...

GREEN SLIME
For this challenge theme all you need to do is use lots of GREEN or GREEN as your POP of color.  Visit the Fresh Brewed Designs Blog for more details, and to see other samples for inspiration. The challenge runs until Nov. 3rd, so you have plenty of time to get your "green slime" on :)

I used the Could You Be Any Sweeter Cupcakes Digi Image along with the Fall Digi Sentiment.

I thought it would fun to give a nice shimmer and shine to my fall cupcake frosting - so I painted over with Smooch Illuminate and then embossed in clear. Kinda gives a "green slime" effect.

I hope you can join in on this fun challenge.

A Muse Studio Cardstock
Markers
Smooch

Happy Birthday Edge'ables

Hello friends. Here's a fun birthday card I whipped up with one of the great Crafter's Companion USA Edge'ables dies - Wishing You a Happy Birthday.

Isn't that cool! I scored and creased the stepper card base, then placed the Edge'ables Die on fold of the first "step edge, and ran it through my diecutting machine. So simple! Behind the cut out (Happy Birthday), I put a piece of glittered white cardstock.

That's it for today. Quick and simple. Check out all the Edge'ables Dies on the Crafter's Companion USA Website HERE.

Slip Box Easel Card

Hello there crafty friends. Hope you are having a wonderful weekend so far. I've got another cool project to share today.

This is another creation I made for the last HSN show featuring Crafter's Companion Ultimate Tool and Timeless Card Pack. Here's the project on the tv screen that I snapped a pic of...

This is how the box looks with the easel card folded all the way down.

It's a wonderful gift box and card all in one. The card is attached to the top of the box, which then folds up to an easel card. Using Ivory Pearl Shimmering Cardstock, I diecut to top of the card with Crafter's Companion USA Die'sire Edge'ables - Renaissance Die.

In the drawer, to create a space for a few greeting cards and a pen, I added a divider.

The box and card die-cut panels are made using the Timeless Card Pack.

All the sentiments are from the same stamp set - Vintage Floral Collection - Sentimentals. They are stamped and heat embossed on Scalloped Ovals that were die-cut from Pearl Ivory Shimmering Cardstock. Simple and elegant.

This box card could be used for all sorts of different gift giving ideas, maybe a mini photo album tucked in the drawer or even candy and other treats.

Click HERE for more projects ideas and inspiration using The Ultimate Tool as well as the fantastic Big Score Board. We also have TONS of projects on Pinterest and are constantly sharing on Facebook.

Fresh Brewed Spiders

Hello friends. Today is another new challenge over at Fresh Brewed Designs.  Our theme this week is "Spiders".

I just love this Halloween "to go coffee cup" digi image. It's called BOO! Spooky Latte. It fit the challenge perfectly since it has a spider on it.

I colored with Spectrum Noir Markers:

Circle in center of band: CT4, GB6, GB4

Cup: BG6, BG4, BG2

The spider on the cup band is extra fun with wiggly eyes! Doesn't it look adorable like that?! :) I also added Black Flock with some sparkles on the body.

As seen on HSN

Happy Friday crafty friends! Did you happen to watch the HSN show this past Wednesday? OH MY WORD...was I EVER a happy little designer when I spotted a bunch of my creations on the TV! Sara Davies, founder of Crafter's Companion, was fantastic with all her wonderful products and demonstrations. Here's one of the projects I created that was zoomed in on...

This is a screen shot I took from the live show. You can also see another project I made peeking out behind over at the far left of the picture. You can see that card HERE on my previous blog post.

I was soooooo excited to see my projects on national television! Our design team make loads of fantastic samples for the show. I hope they inspired papercrafters, showing how much the Crafter's Companion Ultimate scoring tool can do. Not to mention the beautiful heavyweight Timeless Paper Pack Collection. LOVE that stuff!

This project is called a 24-Drawer Advent Box. But you can use it for anything you like. Check out the work in  progress...

I used the Crafter's Companion Die'sire Classiques Delicate Butterfly Die and added some sequins and pearls for a touch of elegance. Each drawer has a little pull knob for easy opening.

Here's another pic from the show where you can see the entire display. The Ultimate being sold at HSN is an exclusive Glitter Ultimate and comes with 2 brand new project DVDs. If you want one...HURRY! A limited amount are for purchase from HSN only. Get it HERE.

TEN of the projects on the left side are MINE! eeeek!!!

OK friends, I'm off to go craft for the day. I've got a bunch of design team projects to work on. More NEW stuff coming soon!

Have a wonderful Friday,
