Spectrum Noir Anything Goes Challenge

Grab your favorite Spectrum Noir coloring supplies and join the fun! Our first challenge for 2016 is Anything Goes. Easy peasy, right?!

Here's a card I made using my Spectrum Aqua Markers.

This image CRACKS ME UP! I stamped on watercolor cardstock with archival ink and then watercolored with a bunch of Spectrum Aqua Marker colors. You really can't go wrong when watercoloring. Even if you go out of the stamping lines (which I totally did! lol) it still looks great!

Here's the colors I used to watercolor with: Peacock Blue, Gold, Scarlet, Rose Pink, Blossom, Peach, Boulder, Sunflower, Moss, Charcoal, Black, King Fisher, Aquamarine

I also used a white gel pen to add a few accents here and there. 

After the coloring was done and all dry, I stamped the chicken wire with grey ink.

The sentiment is stamped and heat embossed on a diecut word bubble. The inside of the card reads:

"and hoping you're feeling better soon!"

Hey hey all you House-Mouse Lovers!
 
We have a fun challenge for you today over on the House-Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge Blog:

ATC Turn-About. Take your ATC and turn it into a card creation. Easy Peasy, right? Get all the challenge details, along with prize info and some fantastic design team samples HERE.

If you are not familiar with what an ATC is, let us explain; It is a miniature work of art with an approximate size of (2 ½ X 3 ½ inches), or, (63 mm X 89 mm). It is small enough to fit inside standard card-collector pockets, sleeves or sheets. The ATC movement developed out of mail art and has its origins in Switzerland. These mini cards are produced in various media and usually traded or exchanged rather than sold. The sky is the limit in this fun art. So give it a go!!! :)

The ATC I used on my card is actually one I made 3 years ago.

 I did recolor a few areas and added some glitter accents along with a twine bow.

The flag banner is made from StampinUP! stamp set and punch.  Then some extra pieces of popcorn added.

So go grab an old ATC....or make a new one....and lets see what YOU come up with!

House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge #80 - MONOCHROME
What is monochrome?
Monochrome is a term generally used to describe painting, drawing, design, or photograph in one color or shades of one color.

Our challenge this weeks was Natascha's idea. Any color works...just remember to use at least 1 House Mouse or Friends image on your project. Check out all the challenge prize details.....AND see all the wonderful projects the design team came up with HERE.



Isn't this stamp SOOOOOOO CUTE!!! It's another fun image I stamped from my friend Cynthia.

All my coloring is done with French Grey Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol.



The sentiment is from A Muse. It's one of my favorite sayings. I love how it looks 3D embossed. Stamp white ink first and then black on the top...but shift over just a tad.

Sabrina's Birthday Card

I made this for my daughter Sabrina. I couldn't wait to give it to her! She loves to craft and stamp...so I knew she would notice all the fun little details and how much work (love) I put into it.

The layout is from Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenge 297.



All coloring is done with Copic markers. That beautiful designer paper is new from Sassafras. I colored over the balloons with a Clear Spica Glitter Pen and then added dimensional glaze. One of the balloons is cut out and popped up on foam tape. You probably can't tell in the picture but I used Hot Kiss Art Glitter on the little hearts in her hair. LOVE the color of that glitter!!! I also added Angel Dust on the edge of the scalloped layer. Speaking of Art Institute Glitter...have you seen the new Dazzlers line? THUD!!!

For Baby Anna

This is a card I designed for my niece's new baby. I call it my fresh and clean vintage look.



Kraft cardstock is probably one of the best colors to work with. It really goes with everything...don't you think? The sentiment is stamped with 2 colors and embossed. Softened up the edges of the scalloped circle by sponging ink very lightly.



The scalloped square layer has a dots background stamped with Versamark ink and then embossed with clear. Hearts are die cut from wool blended felt and stitched together with a button and floss.



Need some leaves for the flower stem? Cut some out by hand. If "I" can do it...so can YOU! LOL! Finish them off with a touch of ink sponged on the edges.

That's it. Fresh, clean and soft as a baby's butt. I had fun designing this one.

Time for another House Mouse & Friends Challenge

Challenge #63: Multi-Fold Card
This weeks challenge is by Christine. Create a card that has more than 1 fold. Make any card you want as long as you have 2 or more folds and use at least 1 House Mouse & Friends image on it. And I believe there is a prize this time around!!! Check out all the challenge and prize details on the HM & Friends Challenge Blog. And if you have time...be sure and check out the other designers creations.

I decided to make what's called a Joy Fold Card. You can find instructions HERE on Splitcoaststampers.

This House Mouse image is another one that I stamped from my friend Cynthia. It's called Confetti Rain. Perfect for this time of year...don't cha think? And if you look reeeeal close...you can see where I stamped footprints on the front left panel...and the inside panel.



I don't know about you...but I like to zoom in on pictures. So if you wanna see more detail....click away on my pics :)

There's a touch of Glitter on each piece of confetti. A portion of the umbrella is paper pieced with dimensional tape.



OK...so check out the ring of rhinestones. Do you know how hard it is to stop hoarding stuff like that....saving it for that special project?? Whatever Lori! Use it or loose it! LOL!

I stamped 2 mouse feet and punched out with 1/2" circle punch for the center embellishment. Then topped it off with one of those cool EK Success Tile Stickers.



Here's the card opened up. More mouse feet stamped really light all over in blue -- the sentiment in a darker blue.



Then.....all the sudden.....from outta NOWHERE...dirty feet went walkin' across my paper!


I added glittered around then entire inside piece..PLUS...some dots of glitter pen on the sentiment.



WHEW! Now go have fun playing with YOUR House Mouse stamps!

House Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge #50 - Gift Card Holder

This weeks challenge is by Janneke. Create anything that you would give a gift card in. The only requirement is to use at least 1 House Mouse or Friends image on your project. For all the details and to see creations by the design team click HERE.

I made a super simple gift card holder. With this design and layout you can quickly create a gift card holder - or even put a picture on there.

Cardstock base is 4" x 10". Score at 5 1/2". Put 1/8" tape down the shorter edges on the inside and adhere. Inside card is 3 1/4" x 5 1/4".

Even if you don't have a punch to make the slots to hold the card - you can use double sided sticky tape to hold it in. Or a perfect place to put a photo. This would also be super cute with some double-sided patterned cardstock. If your giftcard or picture is landscape...just design your card that way instead :)



The Balloon is covered with Crystal Effects.

Featured Stamper Challenge

Happy Friday everyone!



Earlier this week I was hangin' out over on Splitcoaststampers and decided to make a card for the weeks Featured Stamper FS130 is Teresa (aka va.sunshine). Click HERE to see the card I CASE'd.



The things I changed from Teresa's card are: the colors, the sentiment, the layers behind the sentiment, the ribbon, the rhinstones.

I stamped the flowers image first with So Saffron, then stamped it again with Going Grey - but moved the image dows just slightly to create a shadow effect. Then I stamped again over the top of the Grey with The Essentials Glue Pad. I also sponged some of the layers. The reason I decided not to add all the rhinstones across the bottom like in Teresa's card is because I covered the flowers with some amazing glitter from Art Glitter. This card is dazzling IRL!! You might even need to wear sun glasses to look at it!

Good morning all you House Mouse Lovers!! Time for another challenge...and this time I'm in on it ;)

House Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge #45 - Seasons
Pick any season to theme your project on! Make anything you like...just make sure and use at least 1 HM or Friends image. See the House Mouse & Friends challenge blog for all the details and to look at the wonderful creations by the design team.
I decided to go with a Fall season.



Lots of fun stuff goin' on with this creation. I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder and then sanded off the tops. Mouse prints stamped randomly around the background. I also stamped those little pumpkins and pumpkin patch to create my own patterned paper. Fun stuff! Then I stamped the little leaves along with the HM image.

And check this out...I even stamped on the inside of my card! Can you believe that!!! Git-er-done Lori! LOL

All my coloring was done with colored pencils & gamsol. Card base is Old Olive CS from Stampin'UP! All other paper is from Lasting Impressions. House Mouse image from Halloween Clear Set. Other images from CTMH set.

House Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge #42 - Neopolitan
Make something inspired by Neopoliltan. Make sure to use at least 1 House Mouse or Friends image on your project. Take a look at the design team samples HERE for some Neopolitan inspiration.

I gotta say...when I hear Neopolitan...I immediately think of Strawberry, Vanilla & Chocolate ice cream side-by-side in the same container. BUT...I think in Italy...Spumoni is considered a Neopolitan ice cream. Hummm.....I wonder?? LOL! Either way...I love them both! Just give me the carton & a spoon...and I'm good :)

This Happy Hopper stamp is new to my collection. It's called You Snooze You Lose and features Hop-it & Itty Bit. Michaela picked it out for me. Don't ya think it works perfect for the challenge this week!



All that coloring is done with Prismacolor Pencils & Gamsol. Close To Cocoa ink from Stampin'UP! sponged around all lthe ayers except cardbase. My friend Debbie designed a fantastic stamp set for Our Craft Lounge called Summer Treats. I used a sentiment off that set for this card. Perfecto!! And my new Scor-it Sliding Ruler worked slick to create the grid on the vanilla strip - then I sponged ink on that too.

That scoop of strawberry ice cream and the oval around the sentiment glisten with pink glitter. YOU KNOW how we HAVE TO HAVE glitter on our cards...especially one with ice cream!

As My Mother Used to Say...

...A lady doesn't keep people waiting.

Have you ever heard of the little book called "Momilies & More Momilies. As My Mother Used to Say..." written by Michele Slung? My mom gave it to me a while back. It's a marvelously accurate collection of the things all mother say. On page 113 I found "A lady doesn't keep people waiting" -- and I just had to laugh...as I get ready to post my House Mouse project...a day late!

The House Mouse Challenge this week is to make something related to moving. I made a fun bookmark that my friend Lori Ames posted on her blog. What does a bookmarker have to do with moving?? You tell me! LOL!



I used a sentiment that has the word "MOVE" in it! SEE...it DOES have something to do with moving! I told ya you would NEVER guess!

These corner bookmarks are so easy to make - and they work great!

I only stamped a little corner of this very large stamp. Isn't that stamp SO COOL! It's actually my moms -- but I'm borrowing it for a few years ;)

I found a couple more Momilies in the book that totally make me think of on-line computer talk -like when we type YKWIM?
