Spectrum Noir Anything Goes Challenge

Grab your favorite Spectrum Noir coloring supplies and join the fun! Our first challenge for 2016 is Anything Goes. Easy peasy, right?!

Here's a card I made using my Spectrum Aqua Markers.

This image CRACKS ME UP! I stamped on watercolor cardstock with archival ink and then watercolored with a bunch of Spectrum Aqua Marker colors. You really can't go wrong when watercoloring. Even if you go out of the stamping lines (which I totally did! lol) it still looks great!

Here's the colors I used to watercolor with: Peacock Blue, Gold, Scarlet, Rose Pink, Blossom, Peach, Boulder, Sunflower, Moss, Charcoal, Black, King Fisher, Aquamarine

I also used a white gel pen to add a few accents here and there.

After the coloring was done and all dry, I stamped the chicken wire with grey ink.

The sentiment is stamped and heat embossed on a diecut word bubble. The inside of the card reads:

"and hoping you're feeling better soon!"

Go check out all the other design team projects and get all the details on how to enter this month's Spectrum Noir Anything Goes Challenge HERE.

Happy creating!

Fresh Brewed Designs Challenge

Hi! Today is another fun challenge over at Fresh Brewed Designs. Ready...Set...GO!

The Challenge Theme: So Cute

I decided to use one of the images from the Cutie Bug Collection for my project. This one is called Cutie Bug Latte.

I think this little cutie bug is just adorable! I colored with Spectrum Noir Markers:

  • Bugs body LY1, CT2, CT4, GB7
  • Coffee cup TN1, EB5, Blender
  • Shading around image BG1, Blender

I used a cloud stencil and sponged with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink. Then I diecut the panel and sponged Broken China, Black Soot and Mustard Seed inks. The sentiment diecut panel has just a hint of glitter on the edge.

I added a couple layers of the image for dimension. The wings have glitter on them, and the feet, nose and ends of antenna I added Black Glossy Accents. A few sequins for good measure :)

I hope you can join the challenge with us. Visit the blog for all the details, and to see the other fun projects from the design team.

Fix-a-Chick

Time for another fun challenge over at Fresh Brewed Designs.

The challenge is: Use 1 image and 1 sentiment on the front of a card. Get all the Challenge & Prize details on the blog HERE.

YES! Clean and simple here I come! :)

The digi stamp I used is called Fix-a-Chick. Since it's a digi image, I was able to enlarge it and make it big enough to be the entire card front. Cool huh! I printed it again and cut out the bandaid. I popped it up for some dimension. The sentiment - Feel Better Soon - is also digi, so I sized it to fit the image and print at the same time. I also changed the color to print in a brown.

I added yellow flock on the little chick, glaze pen on the nose & eye, and glaze on the bandaid. I also added some fun cracked egg shell pieces (Stampendous! Chiffon Color Fragments) at the bottom. All the coloring is done with markers. Finally...just a touch of glitter to give a "sparkly shine" effect to the egg.

This was a quick and easy design. I hope I've inspired you :)

Have fun!

Let's Play Dressup

Hello Friends! Today over at Fresh Brewed Designs you can get some NEW Digi Images to play with!!!

This release is full of fun and playful images that will make anyone who receives a card smile. I've created a CAS cards using 2 of the new images and sentiments.

My first card is using the new Little Doctor Dress Up image.

Isn't he adorable! And the sentiment.....SOOOOO FUNNY!!! I love the little details -- yet it's still so clean and simple!

My 2nd card I used the new Bride and Groom Dress Up image.

I thought it would be fun to put them on top of a wedding cake. I used 3 different colors of glitter for an extra sparkly wedding :)

Healthy Vibes

Hey House-Mouse Fans!

This is just a reminder to check out our current challenge over on the House-Mouse and Friends Challenge Blog.  We have a new challenge every 2 weeks -- but to help you remember to play,  we have a Mid-Way Challenge Reminder Post with even MORE jaw dropping samples to share!

Our Challenge theme is:  Double Trouble
Our little House-Mouse friends sure know how to have fun...especially when there's more than ONE! My challenge is to use a House-Mouse stamp that has at least 2 mice (or their friends) in it. If you don't have one...that's OK. Find a friend for your single image and create your own little scene. Can't wait to see what everyone comes up with!

Isn't this just soooo cute!  I colored the images with Prismacolor pencils & Gamsol.

I put white Flock on the blanket and on the band aid. I also colored the band aid with a clear glaze pen.  The sentiment and band aide stamps are from Paper Smooches Healthy Vibes set. FUN!

Hope you have time to join us!
Challenge ends Midnight, EST, on Saturday, August 25th, 2012.

WOO HOO!!!!
My heart is happy!

This week over on the CAS-ual Fridays Blog the challenge is to use bling. And as you can see...I have a beautiful red heart rhinestone ever so carefully placed in the medicine jar. Get Wool Soon Dad

Thinkin' of my Dad...

My dad had major back surgery on Wednesday morning. The surgery went well...but he's having a hard time with the pain. I really wish I lived closer so I could just "be there." I made this card and sent it off to him. He loves getting stuff made by his favorite daughter.....of course I'm his only daughter! LOL ;)

Dad has a HUGE sense of humor...so the Sheep stamp set from The Saltbox Studio worked perfect. And...since he has sheep at his house...it was double-perfect! You can see a pic of my dad HERE. "LOVE YA DAD XXOO"

Just what the doctor ordered

A Daily Dose of Stamping

I don't know about you...but if someone gave me this "Get Well Soon" card it would make me feel better :) I felt better just making it! LOL

The Boy and Sentiment are from Elzybells. The patterned paper is from Around The Block and it's called Teal Blanket. How perfect for a Get Well card!

I stamped the boy a 2nd time and cut out the sling part. I love paper piecing!! It really adds that extra little touch. If you haven't tried this technique you really need to. It's also a great way to hide a mess-up :) Try stamping on patterned paper too!

Since the patterned paper I used has a white core I was able to sand off the edges of the sentiment to make it stand out better. Both images are popped up on dimensionals.

Well...if anyone reading this post is not feeling well...I hope this brightens your day :) Have a great weekend!

OUCH!

Get Well Card for Michaela

A couple days ago, Michaela tripped and tumbled down on the floor and hit her head. As I was comforting her I said "How about I make you a Get Well card?" Of course she said yes! :)

As the day went on I got reminded SEVERAL times with the question "When you gonna make me a Get Well card?" I waited until she was sleeping and then put it on her nightstand. It was the first thing she noticed when she woke up the next morning! She came right into my room and said Thank You!! It was SO CUTE! And she also said "that was a lot of hard work wasn't it." Well, after her careful inspection of my craft work...she pointed out the boo-boos that I made! LOL Can you find them?

Supplies used for this 5" x 5" card: Stamps are from Inky Antics, Savvystamps, Close to My Heart and Stampin' UP! Inks used were Stampin' UP! Craft & VersaMark. Stampin' Write Marker from Stampin' UP!

I embossed the image on the front and colored it with Prismacolor Colored Pencils. Blended them with Gamsol Magic and blending stumps. I used Crystal Effects on the nose of both the dog and cat. The dots background was stamped with VersaMark and embossed. All the letters stamped and the bandaid were stamped with Craft Ink and then embossed. The shading done under the dogs feet was done with Sahara Sand Marker from Stampin' UP!
