Happy Friday everyone! Crafter's Companion just launched a brand new line of dies. Die'sire Create-A-Card Card Base Dies! They are FANTASTIC! You gotta check 'em out. 6 new sets of dies that cut a perfect shaped card base! YAY!
Here's a fun card I made using the Ruth Create-A-Card Card Base Die.
I LOVE this shape! It can be used for so many crafting styles. As you can see, it worked perfectly for a "dude" card.
I die-cut the base card using Crafter's Companion Kraft Cardstock. I used the Just For Men 6" x 6" Checkerplate embossing folder to add texture to the bottom of the card. To finish the top edge of the textured area, I cut super thin strip of paper from the Just For Men 6" x 6" Paper Pad Urban Collection paper pad and adhered. I also added a thin strip at the top of the card edge. Don't you just love how small bits of detail like that really add to the design?!
I went to town using a bunch of goodies from the Just for Men Colletion by Sara Davies. What a fun card for that special "dude" ;) All the cogs and gears are die-cut and embossed with the best silver mirror cardstock on the planet! (shhhhh! It's from Crafter's Companion...and is coming soon! But you didn't hear that from me.) Some fun stamping and distressing. "Happy" is actually die-cut through the card front with a piece of designer paper from the Urban Collection Pad adhered on the inside of card -- to the back of the card front. Then I die-cut a single panel of the same size die from kraft cardstock and adhered the back of the card font... to give the inside a professional finish.
I die-cut 1 layer of the smaller size "Ruth" die, from a piece of Just for Men designer paper by placing the "non-cutting edge" of the die at the edge of the paper. After die-cutting, I lightly sponged distress ink before adhering to the inside of the card. We don't see a lot of crafters posting the inside of a card...so I wanted to make sure YOU know that the inside does matter. Bringing in some elements of the card front to the inside of the card really makes it "Epic" ;)
I'm loving all the new goodies from Crafter's Companion. And...there's more to come...just sayin ;)

Lattice Corner Dies
Hi everyone. We are counting down the hours to the big 24-hr HSN Craft Event with Crafter's Companion. I have another amazing Corner Die project to share with you. Also on this project I'm using the NEW Sara Davies Signature Glamour Collection. Beautiful crafty goodies indeed!
The corner die I used is the Lattice Corner Die Set. I love how it has the stitched looking accents around the edge. I die cut the 2 corners of a panel of Rose Pearl Shimmering Cardstock, then adhered to a card base.
I want to point out that the card base is a Square Side Step Card Base from the Create-A-Card Fancy Card Blanks Set. I used it completely different than what it was intended. I turned it portrait and backwards -- which made it into pop-up card! Check it out on the inside...
CRAZY COOL...right?!!! What a great way to stretch your supplies!
So back to the front of the card. I die-cut the lattice corner die on 4 corners of a white cardstock panel, then stamped the sentiment and layered on black pearl cardstock. This entire panel is adhered with dimensional foam adhesive on top of the card front, which I had wrapped a ribbon around and tied in a knot.
I made the pink ribbon rosebud out of the Hot Pink Organza Ribbon from the Sara Glamour Collection.
Then I stitched it to the black satin bow and adhere to the card.
The inside of the card is all decked out with more of the Glamour Collection dies and embossing folder. I know a few little girls who would love to get this card :)

Little Ray of Sunshine
Have you seen the new Verity Rose Collection? It's available NOW over at Crafter's Companion USA? YES!!! I'm in LOVE with these new products! Each character has a unique style and personality that takes you back to the 1920's - but with an added modern twist. I've used the "Sunbeam" character on my card. Sunbeam is cheerful, jolly, bright and breezy. To describe her in one word....Carefree. She likes sunshine, beach huts, deckchairs, fairgrounds and eating strawberry ice cream.
For even more fun, each character has a special animal friend and favorite flower. Sunbeam's animal friend is a flamingo and her favorite flower is a sunflower. All the accessory products are fabulous! They match perfectly with the characters, but you can use any of the products for crafting projects of any kind.
I colored the "Sunbeam" image, from the Verity Rose Coloring Pad, with Spectrum Noir Markers and Blendable Colored Pencils.
I also used my Black Spectrum Noir Marker to airbrush the black specks on ground and on the sentiment oval. To take it all up a level, I colored a few areas with Spectrum Noir Clear Overlay Sparkle Pen for some STUNNING shimmer! Yeah..I know...drool! LOL!
The fun just keeps on going with the stamps and matching dies!!! YES! The smaller sea shells and flamingo are die-cut, stamped and colored. I used the Sunbeam Accessories Stamps and Die set. No need to fussy cut those skinny bird legs! ha! I also diecut the Verity Rose Official Frame for the sentiment and tucked a bit of the Doily diecut behind the image panel. All these goodies are mounted to a card that is straight out of the Verity Rose Card Blanks Pad. And check this out...these cards are double-sided! Beautiful inside and out...even the backs are printed!
I mean...come ON! It doesn't get any better that this...right? Well...YES IT DOES! Matching Verity Rose Envelopes, Charms, Ribbon, Metal Dies, Paper Pads and Acrylic Stamp Sets! SHUT THE FRONT DOOR!

If you would like to get your hands on the Verity Rose Collection, this weekend is a great time to go shopping!. Crafter's Companion USA has $10 off when you spend $40 or more on the webstore. Just use the code 10JULY4 This code is good for all products on the website, not just the Verity Rose collection.

NEW Spectrum Noir Vintage Sparkle Pens
I'm IN LOVE with the BRAND NEW Spectrum Noir Vintage Colors Sparkle Pens. 12 beautiful new colors in 4 new sets. You can see them and shop on the Crafter's Companion website.
I watercolored this project using the new Sparkle Pens.
AMAZING...RIGHT?! I used Sea Breeze, Teacup, Biscuit, Sage, and Macaroon from the Vintage Tea, Vintage Bloom, and Vintage Beach sets.
The stamps are from the Crafter's Companion Floral Delight set. I stamped the flower and leaves with very light colors of Distress Inks on Spectrum Aqua Watercolour Cardstock. The reason I stamped with light distress ink is because I didn't want the stamp lines to show. Distress inks also blend with water, so they faded out even more when I painted over with the Sparkle Pens.
Check out the sparkle!!! WOW! Seriously...I could watercolor with Sparkle Pens all day long!
Watercoloring Tip
To keep each individual section of the image from blending into the next, watercolor sections that do not touch each other. Wait for it to dry before painting areas next to it. For instance, watercolor both leaves, but not the stem. Wait for the leaves to dry (or speed dry with a heat gun). After they are dry, you can paint the stem. When I did this panel, I watercolored the entire background first. After it was dry, I moved on to the flower.

Crafter's Companion is coming to HSN May 9th!
I'm super excited for this next HSN Crafting Event on Tuesday, May 9th!!! Why?
Well...HELLO...Sara Davies and Jennifer Tryon from Crafter's Companion will be there! As if that's not exciting enough...Crafter's Companion has amazing NEW products that will be launched! And....(drum roll)....they are gonna be the "Today's Special" on the show! YAY!!!!!!!!!
Here's a project I made using the Create-A-Card Circle Centre Dies that are part of the bundle for the May 9th HSN Today's Special bundle:
The NEW Die'sire Create-A-Card dies are so much FUN! Wait till you see the show and all the great samples. Sara will demo how they work, so you won't wanna miss the show.
The pic below is more what it looks like all folded up. When the card is folded shut, it measures 5 1/2" square. I diecut the base of the card using Crafter's Companion Pearl White Shimmering C ardstock. The butterflies are from another die set (which I believe will be on the HSN show as well) are diecut from Black Pearl Shimmering Cardstock, then rubbed with a bit of Silver Gilding Wax. Wait till you see THAT stuff! A must have in your craft stash!
The Circle Centre Die Set comes with a sentiment die that cuts in the center circle, but I cut it apart and just used the "thank you" of it and glued down on the card base. The flower panels are also part of the set, and I cut die-cut them green glitter cardstock. This Luxury Cardstock is also from Crafter's Companion and comes in a variety pack of different finishes in the same color family.
The silver mirror cardstock for the circle frame is also from a pack of Luxury Cardstock. I die-cut 2, adhering 1 on each side to sandwich the string that I put in the middle. That way it not only hides the string ends, but gives a professional finish to both sides. I love how when you open the card, the center circle flips open.
Here's a quick video showing the card in action.
The butterflies on the card base are popped up on dimensional foam adhesive. The butterflies on the string are sandwiched with a dimensional foam adhesive. I added some matching rhinestones to the center of each butterfly.
Until then...
Have a beautiful day!

Crafter's Companion Slip Case Gift Box
Happy Monday friends! Here's another project I designed using The Big Score Board from Crafter's Companion. This project was also shown this month on Home Shopping Network (HSN)
This box is called a Slip Case Gift Box. It's one of the many great projects on The Big Score Video Project CD-ROM. This slip case box is made using Crafter's Companion Construction Cardstock and The Sweet Treats Cardstock Pack. Both cardstocks are premium grade heavy duty cardstocks and are prefect for making sturdy boxes and projects. I love how this box can be used for all sorts of gift ideas!
I have a friend who makes the most fantastic smelling and burning candles - called Armoatopia. Aromatopia candles are hand poured in reusable/recyclable mason jars using natural soy wax, premium fragrance oils, and eco-friendly cotton core wicks. The soybeans used to make the wax are grown right here in the USA. I love supporting our local peeps :)You can buy 'em online HERE.
This box would also be wonderful for homemade jam or a single cupcale! I'm sure you will come up with all sorts of other great ideas. Here's a screen shot I took during the HSN show when my box was being shown. I was grinning ear to ear...

Happy Birthday Crafter's Companion
The party continues over at Crafter's Companion USA!
One of the Specials going on is 20% OFF Bebunni Floral Dies. Here's some fun tags I created using the Bebunni Floral Collection Birthday Present Die.

Another items that's on special is the Shimmering Cardstock. I LOVE that stuff! Get two 6"x6" or 8"x8" packs for $10! It's a DEAL! I totally recommend Black. You can't go wrong with that. Get one of each size If you can't decide. Look at he beautiful shimmer - and it die-cuts and embosses awesome.
The designer patterned paper is from the Elegance Card Pack. I only needed little scraps for all the die-cut pieces.
I cut out several presents of each of the cardstocks, then trimmed apart and paper pieced. You could make up a bunch and have them handy for quick gift wrapping needs.
The sentiments are from various Bebunni Floral Collection Stamp Sets. I love the fonts!

Sweet Treats Cube Tutorial
Hi there! I've got a tutorial over on the Crafter's Companion USA Blog for these super EASY treat boxes. They're so fun to make...and can be designed for any occasion.
The finished cube is 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" - perfect size to hold a Lindt Lindor Chocolate Truffle. These would make wonderful party favors! You can easily make 3 cubes from one 8 1/2" x 11" sheet of cardstock.
I used Crafter's Companion Shimmering Cardstock for all the pieces. This heavyweight cardstock not only has a beautiful shimmery finish on BOTH sides..but it makes the most STURDY 3D projects -- and is da'bomb for die cutting!
Step-by-step instructions to make this project are over on the Crafter's Companion USA Blog. I hope you hop to check it out and give it a try.
Happy Crafting!

Fab 60's Watercolor
Here's another card I created using the brand new Sheena Douglass Groovin' 60's collection from Crafter's Companion.
Everything is watercolored with Spectrum Noir AquaBlend Watercolor Pencils. As you can see, these pencil colors are super rich and vibrant! Fab...right?!
I made the card base from Spectrum Aqua Watercolour Cardstock, as well as the additional cut out pieces. Everything is stamped and heat embossed. The flowers have glitter glue in the centers.
To make the heart, I brushed anti-static powder on a small piece of watercolor cardstock, placed the Groovy Flower Power Stencil on top and dabbed black pigment ink only in the dashed areas of the heart. After lifting off the stencil, I heat embossed in clear. Next, I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment in the center. To finish, I trimmed out and attached to card with dimensional foam adhesive.
