more to share with MissyB stamps

Autumn Fun

Remember the set of 26 stamps I got from MissyB? (see prior post HERE) The set is called Fall and Winter Minis. I used 5 stamps from the set to make my card. Imagine all the fantastic things you can make from this set!

I used Sketch Challenge #195 from Splitcoaststampers for my card layout. The layer behind the main image I stamped the 2 leaves in Versamark. I think the faux stitching works really well on this. :) I colored with Copic and Prismacolor markers. Around the edges of the patterned paper I used my Chocolate Chip Classic ink pad and swiped it directly on the edges. Edge Distressing on all 3 layers. And check it out....I used my stapler with colored staples! Any of you have colored staples?

I'm sure lovin my MissyB stamps. And I STILL have like 15 stamps in this set I haven't used yet! Guess that means I'll just have to make more stuff :) Twist my arm! YEAYA BABY!!

Also...check out what the other MissyB Design Team members have been making HERE.

Here we are again for another House Mouse & Friends Monday Morning Challenge. I call it my Monday Morning Kick Start :)

See challenge details, prize details and DT samples on the HM & Friends Blog HERE. Thanks Janneke for coming up with this weeks challenge.

On my card I used a metal rim tag. I sponged SU True Thyme ink on the tag to color it to match and around the edged of main image & patterned paper. For the card layout I used Sketch Challenge #195 over on Splitcoaststampers.

This House-Mouse stamp is called Amanda Shines. I think the sentiment tells it all -- "Too Cute." If you click on the pics to zoom in, you can see some sparkle in there. This is such a sweet image. I made sure to give Amanda a nice pink blush cheek :)

flowers & a balloon for your birthday

Where did she get that balloon?

A really fun thing I like to do with my stamps is use parts of one stamp with another. I don't know if there's an official name for this techniqe...or if it's even considered a technique. Whatever it is....I like doing it!

The main image on this card is a stamp from Elzybells called Flower Girl. I wanted her to have flowers AND a balloon. Sooooooo......I inked up the balloon on another image and stamp it on top :)

Cool beans huh! That balloon is on a stamp in an Elzybells Clear set called Party pup. Click HERE to see a card I made using that set. Her dress is paper pieced from the patterned paper. The little flowers on the grass are a single stamp that I colored in and cut out indiviually. Main image layer and green card stock are popped up on dimensionals. I punched a hole in the main layer to pull the ribbon through and tied a bow. All the coloring was done with markers. Now...who am I gonna give this card to? hummmm.....

Have an AWESOME weekend everyone!

A Little Brown Paper Bag

Heather's Share Your Spark Friday

This week Heather's share your spark Friday is to make something with the effect of aged paper. See Heathers sample and challenge details on her blog here.

I was sitting at my desk and spotted this little brown paper bag. I thought it might work good for this challenge. So I cut off a piece and crumbled it up. After smoothing it out some I took Ranger Distress Ink and swiped it all over. Then I spritzed it with water and set aside to dry. I wasn't even sure what I was going make out of it until it was dry and ready to use. After looking at it for a few minutes I thought of the ground. So I tore a couple chunks off and they looked like hills. That...my friends....is how I decided on the scene of my card :0}

THEN remembered I had some cute little moose brads. PERFECT! It was another one of those "I knew I bought these for something" moments! hee hee hee I always have to force myself to use some of my goodies and stop saving them for "something special" WHY do we do that?!! Every moment of paper crafting is special and these things need to be used. :) I also used some of this cool suede ribbon I've been saving as well.

Well...I hope this qualifies as an "aged paper" effect. A BIG thank you to Heather for coming up with such fun ideas. Heather has amazing stuff to share on her blog. Check her out HERE.

SCS Sketch Challenge 194

Cinnamon & Spice and Everything Nice

Cinnamon is the name of the Penny Black Stamp I used on my card. Isn't she just adorable :) I made this card for my daughter Sabrina. She just turned 26. When she was little she used to wear all kinds of fun girlie stuff - as most little girls do! This Penny Black stamp reminds me of that. The dangles of stuff in her hair, the dangles and bangles on her wrist, a fun purse...everything....even the jeans!

The layout is based on Card Sketch Challenge 194 over on Splitcoaststampers. Details HERE.

I colored with Copic & Prismacolor markers. On the Cake, hair accessories, belt, bracelets, purse and flower on sentiment I added Dazzling Diamond glitter. VERY sparkley IRL. The flower in her hair and on the sentiment have a little rhinstone. Doodling around images I did by hand.

Sabrina now has 2 little girls of her own and they both have the "Cinnamon Glam" going on! :)

BRAK Box

A Special Place for Some Simply Special Cards

Are ya wondering "what's a BRAK Box?" BRAK stands for Birthday Random Act of Kindness. It's something that some of us do over on the A Muse Addicts Forum - send out birthday cards to other A Muse addicts. Really a fun way to share our A Muse creations with other lovers of A Muse Art Stamps.

I thought it would be cool to have a special place to keep my BRAK cards. Gotta have something cute to keep them in....right?! :) I spotted this lonely little tin box sittin' on a shelf in my craft room...begging me to dress it up. So I grabbed it and blew off the dust (seriously!)

I love the sentiment. Perfect description of what A Muse cards are - Simple pleasures! All the stamped images on this project are Saltbox Studio.

The back needed to look good too - so I stamped some stars and colored them.

Check out how A Muse 4 Bar Note Cards fit PERFECT! Sweet Deal!! This is just a sample package showing how good they fit. I'll be filling it with birthday cards. YIKES!!! I better get stamping!!

House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge

I'm SEW happy it's Monday!

Your Monday Morning Kick Start this week with HM & Friends is gonna be great. Why? Because it's my idea! LOL. I know....I know....that's sew funny.....I have you in stitches don't I! ha! Yep....I'm a cheese ball! ha ha ha. Sew are you ready to play?! Have you figured out what the theme is yet?

House Mouse & Friends Challenge #6 - Stitching
We would like to see stitching of any kind on you work. Real stitching, faux stitching, stamped on stitching, a stamp that features stitching or even reference to stitching in the sentiment. It's entirely your choice what you make - card, lay out, atc, etc anything goes as long as it features at least one House Mouse or Friends image and follows this weeks theme. All the details for this weeks challenge and samples from the Design Team can be found HERE.

For my card I used a stamp that features sewing. I also stamped stitching around the edges. The sentiment is sew perfect! LOL I love how the colors work together. I think that patterned paper couldn't have been any more perfect!

This House Mouse stamp is called Perfect Fit and features Amanda & Maxwell. Amanda has been on a couple of my other cards (here & here) but this is the first time for Maxwell. Maxwell is reddish-brown and has a perpetually curled tail. He's a little prankster.

I stamped the image again, colored, cut out the sewing machine and popped it up on dimensionals. Looks sew cool! (OK....I'll stop with the "sew" humor)

These stamps are so much fun to color. Don't forget that you can click on the pics to zoom in and really check it out :) Hey....if you have a Hobby Lobby in your area....they have House Mouse & Friends stamps...AND...this week they are on sale for 50% OFF. Yep! That's right!!! Sept 22 - 27th. I'm SEW going there TODAY! (sorry...I had to do it!)

What's the Buzz??

Small Stamps - BIG Cuteness

Guess what the Buzz is?! I made a card! Aren't you excited! hee HEE. If you are...stand up and shout "WOOOHOOO!!!" ha ha ha! Where did that come from??? LOL OK...back to the card.

I used 5 little stamps on this card. Two little flowers to stamp up a background. Then I took another flower and stamped it across the bottom. Just look at what these small stamps created.....BIG cuteness! :)

Could I make it cute any cuter? Of course :) I stamped the bee again on white cs...colored the body with markers and glitter pens...cut out the body only and popped it up a dimensional. I put a little ultra-fine glitter on the wings for that must have bling :) I did the same thing with 1 of the flowers...only I stamped it on SU Barely Banana CS...added some shading with markers...cut out just the flower part and popped it up too. All 3 of the flowers have a touch of Clear Spica Glitter pen on them for a little sparkle.

For the sun I punched out Barely Banana CS with a Stampin'UP! punch then added a little shading around the edge with a marker...AND some clear glitter pen too.

So that's what all the Buzz is about!!

Just Because

A Muse Addicts Weekly Challenge #61

This weeks challenge over on the A Muse Addicts Forum is called "Just Because." The challenge is to use our A Muse stamps to make a card for someone, just because. Here's the BEST PART!!! After we make the card, we need to send it to someone!! This is awesome!

I have this "thing" going on right now with Trees. Do you know why?? It's because A Muse is releasing 2 new clear sets on Monday and they are all about trees!! The A Muse Crew has been giving sneak peeks for the last couple days. I like seeing all the peeks...but HELLO!!! It's KILLIN' me to wait to see it all!! aacckk!!! What TO DO?! aaaaahhh....I know.....make a tree card with a stamp I already have. But I still want a NEW tree....I didn't want to use my old stuff! LOL

Check out what I came up with:

This tree is made from a stamp out the the clear set called Fancy Borders. I just took it and curved it around :) Yes...I know - I know - clever! And the tree trunk is just scrap piece of A Muse paper I had laying around. The cute little dog is a new release that came out with all the new A Muse Winter/Christmas stuff. It's called Winter Dog.

Well...how do you like my new stamp? I HAD to do it -- "just because." I'm sending this card off to my dad and step mom. Their little dog Suzie just had surgery on Monday. She had a problem with one of her knees...so they got it all fixed up :) She will have a cast on her leg for a few weeks - but is doing well.

It's Challenge Time!!

Another Elzybells Challenge

I mentioned on a previous post (here) that I was going to use this image again...so here it is:

I just love this stamp! It's so much fun to color. The double sided cardstock has a shabby distressed look...so his jeans and shoes got some too :) I colored him with Copic Markers. The corner pieces are the reverse side of the dot patterned paper. I sanded off the edges to expost the white core. Brads in the corners and a touch of ribbon to finish it off.

Havin' Some Spooky Fun

New MissyB Stamps Are In The House!!

WOHOO! I got my first sets of MissyB stamps being on the Design Team. How cool is THAT!!I'm having tons of fun with these new stamps. The first set I'll share with you is called Fall and Winter Minis.

I used 4 stamps from this set to make all these projects. Only 4 out of 26 stamps!! Yep! 26 stamps are in this set! But CHECK THIS OUT.....you aren't gonna believe what I'm about to tell you!!! This set is on SALE for $6.00! Yep...you got it...$6.00 for 26 stamps!! Still don't believe me?! Check it out HERE.

My first card uses 2 of the stamp from the set. And what would a Spooky card be without Drippy Goo! Just had to use that MS punch again :)

See those cute little spiders! Yes...on this card they are cute! hee HEE! I put Black Fun Flock on their bodies. Have you ever see such a cute idea?! LOL You can actually pet them! ha ha ha ha If you click the picture you can see it better.

My next card has a fun Shimmery Bat. He's popped up on dimensionals cause I wanted him to look like he was flying in front of the moon.

I colored with Gray Copic markers then painted him with Shimmerz. Way cool!! Here's something funny....I used Angel Wings Shimmerz!! Somehow it just doesn't see right! ha ha ha Angel/Bat?! Oh well....I thought it was funny :)

The last item I have to share are these cute little treat bags. They are cut out with my die cut machine. (more of these little treat bags can be seen here)

I stamped spooky all over and then embossed with clear powder. Embossing is really fast and easy...plus it gives a nice shinny effect. I shaded the ghosts with C1 Copic marker then added glitter with my glue pen. They are stuck on the bags with a dimensional. FYI - 1 Peanut Butter Cup fits perfect in these little bags.

Well...what ya think of my goodies using MissyB stamps? Wanna see more?! I'm workin on it....so keep your eyes open for more to come :)

Simply Sweet for Trick or Treat

Heather's Share Your Spark Friday

This weeks addition of share your spark Friday over on Heather's blog is to make something other than a card. YES!! This is just what I needed! Time to move away from the cards! Time to make something fun with those awesome tools and supplies I have that are collecting dust!

These little treat bags were fast fast fast to make. Perfect for "think simple...think A Muse" style --
don't ya think :) Stamp, fold, embellish, DONE! OK...there's a little more to it than that....but that pretty much sums it up.

These would be perfect to give out as little thank you treats at a stamping party, open house, etc. I plan on filling them up with Halloween M&M's and giving them to all my kids and grandkids.

Using my Big Kick, I cut out the bags with cardstock and then stamped on them. One little piece of sticky tape is all that's needed to put them together. Next I stamped the ghosts & pumpkins on cardstock and applied glitter with a glue pen. Ghosts are cut out - pumpkins punched with circle punch and attached to bag with dimensionals. The little tags are actually the insides of the bag handles. I didn't have a stamp small enough...so I wrote on them by hand. (Not the best...but hey...I tried.) The thread I used to tie them on is called Bakers Twine from Martha Stewart. I got it last year after Halloween on clearance. I totally knew I bought that for something! ha ha ha

Thanks Heather for getting me out of making cards today :)

For my card I pieced patterned paper for the baby bottle.

This Happy Hoppers stamp is called Sleepy Head and features Itty Bit. Adorable huh! I stamped on white cardstock with brown ink and colored with markers. Then I stamped again on my patterned paper and cut out the bottle (from under the rim down) and glued it down. On the tail and inside the ear I used a little shimmery white chalk for an added little touch :)

Hocus Pocus Challenge Combo

Sparkin' Fibers

Heather's Share Your Spark Friday for this week is to use a stamp multiple times on the same card. Can you guess which stamp I did that with? LOL

THEN.......Chris's Belli Challenge #33 this week is to use Fibers. I used some fun yarn on my card. (I got it out of my crochet stash)

Here's my multi-challenge card. (that sounded funny!)

All the purple and green coloring was done with Spica Glitter Pens. Really sparkly in person. The rest is done with Copic and Prismacolor Markers. Can you see that cool purple & green two-tone ribbon?! WAY AWESOME!!! All stamps used are A Muse :)

I love creating backgrounds with stamps. BTW - Sorry for the photo quality. I took the pics this evening and they are a little dark. I'm too tired to get all fancy with lighting this time. Maybe I'll re-take pics tomorrow morning -- or not -- well maybe -- or not -- ha ha ha ha ha. I need sleep!!

Thanks for the challenges ladies!! :)

Object of Jealousy

Birthday Babe

I wasn't gonna post this...but the more I thought about it I was like....OH...what the heck...GO FOR IT! My daughter might have a moment of embarrassment...but only for a moment. She has "THE" sense of humor ;) Here goes.....

I made this card for my oldest daughter's birthday using Sketch Challenge 192 over on Splitcoaststampers. (I still haven't given it too her yet!)

It's totally her! I laugh every time I look at it. Naturally there's a story behind it. About a year or so ago, we went to a big department store to try on expensive jeans. You know...the kind celebs wear. Of course I brought my camera and took pics. One of the pics she was posing pretty much like this stamp!

We had a blast. And yes...we looked good in those jeans! LOL Happy Birthday Alisha!

The stamps are from MissyB Designs. Speaking of Missy B -- Melissa just put together a Design Team and asked me to be on it!!! How COOL IS THAT!! I listed the other DT members on my side bar. We are gonna have FUN! YEAH BABY! LOL :)

I colored with Copic Markers and then painted Shimmerz on top of the skirt, blouse, boots and on the brown oval layer under sentiment. Pink & Clear Rhinstones galore!! Main image popped up on dimensionals.

Boo Cute

H&M Stamps Weekend Challenge

These cards are for 2 challenges over on Heather Rolin's blog. Heather is the owner of H&M Stamps. Every Saturday a new challenge will be posted. I don't have any of her stamps, but she indicated it was OK to play along anyhow.

One challenge is a layout - the other is a color combo. You can make something for each, or combine them into one. I decided to make a card for each.

Here's my card for the layout challenge.

I used stamps from StampinUP and Studio G. Oval Spellbinders to cut out window and is popped up on dimensionals on top of main image. Coloring done with Copic Markers. I just got paper from Papertrey and Palette Noir ink - so I used it on this card. MAN that paper is great Nice and thick!!! I'm SO GLAD I got it (thanks for enabling me Lorie!) And the ink worked excellent with the Copics. Black and Orange textured CS from Bazzill. Patterned paper is from The Paper Studio called Halloween Random Circles. Fiskars Border Punch, SU Oval Punches, Misc Brads. Turned out pretty cool!

This next card is for the color combo challenge.

I used a Hero Arts Owl stamp that was sittin' on my shelf. I though she would look really cute in purple! hee hee hee. Colored her with Copic Markers and glittered her up with my 2 way glue pen and Art Institute Angel Dust Transparent Ultrafine Glitter :)

The background flowers are from StampinUP stamped with Perfect Plum on Pale Plum CS. Sentiment is also from StampinUP in the For a Friend set. I paper pieced the white cloud and colored the heart red - then added glitter. Main image layer is popped up on dimensionals. This was just a silly fun card. Who says an owl can't be purple?!

House Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge

Stamp Cents - Beauty on a Budget

I thought my blog name was pretty fitting for today's House Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge. Well....Cents being money - instead of Scents meaning candles :) hee hee hee

Here's your Monday Morning Kick Start....
Make a card (or whatever you choose to make) for less than £1/$2.
Your stamps and coloring tools are excluded from the budget. You can use any tools you have to create your project. Anything on your project that you got for free/in a swap or a RAK may be used but must have an estimated value/cost. Work out the cost for everything used - papers, cardstock, flowers, brads, ribbons, dimensionals, tapes, glues, etc. Obviously some of these things will be pennies - but you still need to give them an estimated value. Most importantly - use at least one House Mouse or Friends image on your project - that's the best part right! :)

Here's my sample and a cost estimate below

I wanted the main image to be showcased so I used a large House Mouse stamp and layered it on coordinating cardstock. A small piece of sheer ribbon, an altered paper flower and a brad is all this card needed. I stamped on Watercolor paper with Black Stazon. The name of this stamp is Feeling Breezy and features sweet little Monica. Coloring is done with Watercolor Crayons and Aqua painters. I love the look of watercoloring! Look at how many shades I got with only 7 crayons. I used Angel Wings Shimmerz to add touches of sparkle to the flowers. The paper flower is painted with Sugar Plum Shimmerz. It turned out perfect! I'm lovin' these Shimmerz Paints!! "Hang In There" would have be great for the sentiment...but Monica looks to be smiling and having a great time....so "Happy Day" won this time.

Click on this closeup pic to get a better look.

Card Cost Estimate in US dollars & cents: (not including the price of the stamps, watercolor crayons or Aqua painters)

TOTAL COST ESTIMATE = 0.6911
Watercolor paper piece .1488

Very Vanilla Cardstock piece .0938
Orange Cardstock piece .0750
Green Cardstock piece .0750
Ribbon piece .0825
Bazzill Brad .08
Paper Flower .05
Dimensionals .066
Double sided sticky tape .01
Shimmerz paint .01

So how's that for Beauty on a Budget! :) Make sure and check out all the other design team members On A Budget projects HERE.

SCS Featured Stamper Challenge

FS83 CARD CRAZY

I've never done the Featured Stamper Challenge over on Splitcoaststampers...so I thought it would be fun to give it a go. There's a new FS Challenge every Sunday. Today's Featured Stamper #83 is Denise, Card Crazy. Here is Denise's awesome gallery, and Here is Denise's card I chose to CASE.

I pretty much changed everything but kept the same layout. Make sure and look at Denise's card (here) so you can see where I got my idea.

The main image is from Inky Antics. Isn't it the cutest! I colored with Copic markers and then painted over the flowers, birds, bee, grass & heart with Shimmerz. Click the picture to zoom in to see the awesome sparkle! The sentiment is stamped from my Elzybells Everyday Greetings set. I used Chestnut Roan Chalk Ink on a sponge dauber around the edges of some layers. To add a little extra country look, I did some machine stitching and hand doodling. The end result....a card. LOL
