Stenciled - Day 1

Hey crafters!

I've been a little stencil happy lately. I signed up for the Stenciled Online Card Class. The class is all about creative ways to use stencils on cards. So fun! I managed to get all the homework done for Day 1. Days 2 - 4 ... yeah ... still a work in progress!

This first one I used the Tim Holtz Harlequin Stencil and Distress Ink. The tag is stamped with Crafter's Companion Sentimentals Collection - Friends and Family set and heat embossed. I think this turned out very "Mae West" :)

This next one is embossing with stencils. The birds stencil is from The Crafter's Workshop. The color is added with distress inks and foam blending tools...and a little flick of water to create the random spots. Sentiment is from Avery Elle - Love Notes. Onyx cardstock for the base is form A Muse Studio. I  A Muse cardstock because it's white on one side and color on the other. Perfect for making cards!

Here's an uber cool card using a a small brick stencil from The Crafter's Workshop and Dylusions Ink Sprays. All those fun stamps are from Paper Smooches Slang Gang. A MUST HAVE SET! The button is from Sweet Stamp Shop.

The "love" window is made form a Tim Holtz die. The white panel behind the window is covered with Dry Rock Candy glitter. Hearts I cut out by hand.

The next 2 cards are done by layering and masking with stencils.  This one I used Tim Holtz Rays stencil and a cloud stencil that I cut out myself. Distress inks for sponging. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this stamp set is from A Muse Studio - Love is in the Air. BTW...it's on SALE until Feb 14th HERE.  I watercolored the buildings and windows with Distress Markers and a water brush pen.

Before the inks completely dried...I dusted with Diamond Embossing Powder from A Muse Studio. WOW! The nice thing about adding "glitter" embossing powder is the extra shine you get along with the bing of the glitter. Ah-mazing!

I pulled a Spellbinders Impressabilities stencil to create this next card. The sentiment is from another A Muse Studio set called Thank You Mix. It's one of my go-to sets.

Before lifting the stencil from the paper, I spritz on sparkle spray.

I look forward to a few more days of "learning" with stencils!
Life is good :)

It's Challenge Time!!

Another Elzybells Challenge

I mentioned on a previous post (here) that I was going to use this image again...so here it is:

I just love this stamp! It's so much fun to color. The double sided cardstock has a shabby distressed look...so his jeans and shoes got some too :) I colored him with Copic Markers. The corner pieces are the reverse side of the dot patterned paper. I sanded off the edges to expost the white core. Brads in the corners and a touch of ribbon to finish it off.

Recipe:
Stamps - Elzybells Art Stamps A Rose for You, Everyday Greetings Clear Set
Paper - My Mind's Eye Wild Asparagus "Sweet" Dots/Red Paper, Bazzill Textured cardstock, Papertrey Ink White Cardstock
Ink - Palette Noir Black
Misc. - Copic Markers, Spellbinders Wizard Diecut Machine and Circle Dies, Misc Brad & Misc ribbon, Dimensionals.

Havin' Some Spooky Fun

New MissyB Stamps Are In The House!!

WOHOO! I got my first sets of MissyB stamps being on the Design Team. How cool is THAT!!I'm having tons of fun with these new stamps. The first set I'll share with you is called Fall and Winter Minis.

I used 4 stamps from this set to make all these projects. Only 4 out of 26 stamps!! Yep! 26 stamps are in this set! But CHECK THIS OUT.....you aren't gonna believe what I'm about to tell you!!! This set is on SALE for $6.00! Yep...you got it...$6.00 for 26 stamps!! Still don't believe me?! Check it out HERE.

My first card uses 2 of the stamp from the set. And what would a Spooky card be without Drippy Goo! Just had to use that MS punch again :)

See those cute little spiders! Yes...on this card they are cute! hee HEE! I put Black Fun Flock on their bodies. Have you ever see such a cute idea?! LOL You can actually pet them! ha ha ha ha If you click the picture you can see it better.

My next card has a fun Shimmery Bat. He's popped up on dimensionals cause I wanted him to look like he was flying in front of the moon.

I colored with Gray Copic markers then painted him with Shimmerz. Way cool!! Here's something funny....I used Angel Wings Shimmerz!! Somehow it just doesn't see right! ha ha ha Angel/Bat?! Oh well....I thought it was funny :)

The last item I have to share are these cute little treat bags. They are cut out with my die cut machine. (more of these little treat bags can be seen here)

I stamped spooky all over and then embossed with clear powder. Embossing is really fast and easy...plus it gives a nice shinny effect. I shaded the ghosts with C1 Copic marker then added glitter with my glue pen. They are stuck on the bags with a dimensional. FYI - 1 Peanut Butter Cup fits perfect in these little bags.

Well...what ya think of my goodies using MissyB stamps? Wanna see more?! I'm workin on it....so keep your eyes open for more to come :)

Gooooooooooood morning House Mouse Lovers!!!! It's Monday....and you know what that means!! Time for your Monday Morning Kick Start :) Let the fun begin.....

House Mouse & Friends Challenge #5 - Paper Piecing
This challenge is to use paper piecing on your project. As always, use at least 1 House Mouse, Happy Hoppers or Gruffies image on your creation. Click HERE to see all the samples from the Design Team.

For my card I pieced patterned paper for the baby bottle.

This Happy Hoppers stamp is called Sleepy Head and features Itty Bit. Adorable huh! I stamped on white cardstock with brown ink and colored with markers. Then I stamped again on my patterned paper and cut out the bottle (from under the rim down) and glued it down. On the tail and inside the ear I used a little shimmery white chalk for an added little touch :)

The card base is 5" x 5" Main image is die cut out and embossed then attached with dimensionals.

Christmas in July

My New Little Chubby Bird

This little Chubby bird is one of the new winter holiday A Muse stamps released during A-Muse-A-Palooza last week. I decided to use it for the first time and do another one of Heather's share your spark Fridays. This weeks "spark" is to make something for those winter holidays in December.

I decided a little winter scene shadow box card would be fun for Chubby Bird. I think he looks stunning in his orange scarf & hat :)

Look at all that snow on the trees....and the soft snowflakes sparkle in the air!

Chubby bird has the perfect spot out on that limb to just sit and think.

One place you can find a tutorial for making a shadow box card is HERE on Cammie's Blog. Another one is on Splitcoaststampers HERE.

My cardbase is 5.5" x 4.25". I drew the tree by hand to match up with the branch on stamp. It gives a nice dimensional look :) I also created my own custom glitter brads. I took white brads and heat with my embossing gun - holding them with tweezers. Then I dipped the tops in SU Irridescnet Ice Embossing Glitter and heat set a little more. Perfect snowball brads!! Main stamped image is attached to green cardstock with dimensionals. Then green cardstock is attached to cardbase with dimensionals as well.
