The Beach sign and Sand dollar are also new. Man am I havin' fun with these. The Gingham Blueberry Cardstock is also new.

Enjoy the Ride

amuse-bouche - Day 3

Dude! I'm totally stoked to show you my card!! ha ha ha How's that for surf talk :) Well...I am pretty stoked about ALL the new A Muse Summer Fun images!

Doesn't the new Alligator look like he's havin' a blast on the new Surfboard! "Enjoy the ride" is one of the new sentiments - and the Open Palm Tree is a new stamp too.

The Surfboard & Alligator are cut out and popped up on a dimensional. I stamped the Open Palm Tree on the white layer - plus cut out another one and paper pieced it on top. The leaves are not stuck down...so they pop up a little to give dimension.

To make the waves layer I drew freehand on white cardstock & cut it out -- then added glitter along the top edge. Cuttlebug embossing folders for added texture on the orange background layer - lightly sanded off to expose white cardstock.

Are you enjoying all the amuse-bouche treats so far? I'll have more tomorrow! And don't forget to check out the A Muse News Blog & the other Muse's blogs for more.

The Summer Fun Continues

amuse-bouche - Day 2

The new Submarine stamp from A Muse is about as FUN as it gets for Summer! Of course the first thing I thought of was "we all live in a yellow submarine." So I HAD to color it yellow :) The Sun is also new. I'm gonna get LOTS of use out of it. Notice anything else new? Blueberry Gingham Cardstock! And the new sentiment...perfect for all sorts of occasions! Git-er-done A Muse!!

The images are colored with Copic markers. What would I do without my Copics! ;) The windows are colored with a Clear Spica Glitter Pen then covered with Crystal Glaze. VERY COOL IRL! The parts that are colored blue...I did that with a Blue Spica Glitter Pen.

Welllll....how ya like them Sweet Summer Treats? Make sure to check out all the other Creative Team blogs & A Muse News blog for more amuse-bouche.

I close my eyes....and imagine...cool, calm & comfortable. That's the feeling I get with the new Cabana and Palm Silhouette stamps. The new "ready set recline!" sentiment is perfect...and goes with many other A Muse stamps.

I stamped the cabana a 2nd time and cut out the top. It's popped up on a dimensional. Some glitter on the waves gives it just the right glistening touch. Oh yeah...I'm so there ;)

This card also qualifies for this weeks Clean and Simple Card Challenge #15 over on SCS. The challenge is to use Black, White and 1 Bold Brights Color. OH YEAH BABY!! House Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge

May Flowers

Good morning all you House Mouse Lovers :) Are ya ready for another fun challenge? Of COURSE you are! hee hee hee. This weeks challenge was provided by Judy Rozema.
For the sketch - you can flip it, shrink it, rotate it etc. Just make sure to have at least 1 HM image on your creations. For all the challenge details & to see the great creations by the Design Team - click HERE.

The first thing that came to me when I saw this sketch was a big flower for the circle layer. Then I decided Take Time To Smell The Flowers with Muzzy was the perfect stamp to go with. Funny thing... I used this same stamp for another sketch challenge. (See it here).

I think this might be one of the biggest cards I've ever created -- 5 1/2" x 7" Heck...I think I might frame it & hang it up on my wall! The coloring was done with Prismacolor Pencils & Gamsol. All that beautiful paper and matching ribbon is from a Close to My Heart Project Pack that I have been hoarding. Yes...I hoard just like the rest of you :) Don't wanna use the good stuff for just anything....right?! Gotta save it for something "special" ha ha ha ha
Click the pic to see Fuzzy Muzzy up close :)

I hope you have time this week to create something fun using this sketch & your HM stamps.

As My Mother Used to Say...

...A lady doesn't keep people waiting.

Have you ever heard of the little book called "Momilies & More Momilies. As My Mother Used to Say..." written by Michele Slung? My mom gave it to me a while back. It's a marvelously accurate collection of the things all mother say. On page 113 I found "A lady doesn't keep people waiting" -- and I just had to laugh...as I get ready to post my House Mouse project...a day late!

The House Mouse Challenge this week is to make something related to moving. I made a fun bookmark that my friend Lori Ames posted on her blog. What does a bookmarker have to do with moving?? You tell me! LOL!

I used a sentiment that has the word "MOVE" in it! SEE...it DOES have something to do with moving! I told ya you would NEVER guess!

These corner bookmarks are so easy to make - and they work great!

I only stamped a little corner of this very large stamp. Isn't that stamp SO COOL! It's actually my moms -- but I'm borrowing it for a few years ;)

I found a couple more Momilies in the book that totally make me think of on-line computer talk -like when we type YKWIM?
X Y Z - Examine Your Zipper.
K Y L C - Keep Your Legs Crossed. (I thought I would DIE when I read that one! LOL!!!)

Here are 3 more that are on the same page:
Show me the backs of your hands.
Do your nails really taste that good?
And this time make sure you use soap!

Here's the definition for "mom-i-ly" in the book: 1. a sermon made by a mother 2. an admonitory or moralizing discourse from mother to child.

I don't know if this one is in the book...but my "momily" for today is:
Better late than never!

Happy Mother's Day to all you Mom's out there!

For You

Here's a little something that I hope inspires you. Using the new Classic Labels set from A Muse -- along with a few other stamps -- check out what I came up with! I LOVE how this turned out! I mean come on...look how that classic rectangle frame stamp got all dressed up for the occasion! yeaya! And we gotta have flowers & bling for Mom...right :)

Did ya noticed I have a thing for green lately? LOL I can't help it...I love green...especially this Sage Green from A Muse! The flowers are stamped with white pigment ink and covered with Simple Stick - then added on the glitter. That stuff works amazing! A little sanding on the edges of the sentiment layer and around the cardbase to soften it up a bit...cause moms are soft...right ;)

Little Yellow Giraffe

A Muse Classic Labels

Yes...I'm still playin' around with my new Classic Labels stamp set from A Muse. On this card I used the large oval stamp. After I punched it out, I sanded the edges. Think of all the fun things you could do with this!

I added a ruffled scalloped border around the oval. Isn't it WAY COOL!! This idea came from Jan. I found it a while back when I was pokin' around on Splitcoaststampers. Looks so cute on this baby card!! It's really simple to make -- otherwise I wouldn't have done it ;)

The Little Giraffe is colored with Copic Y21 Buttercup Yellow - then colored over with a Clear Spica Glitter Pen.

No matter which way you slice it...

...this new set is COOL!

I'm talkin' about the new Limited Edition 2009 Anniversary Set from A Muse . Check out this card I made with the large circle stamp...

The other day I stopped at Sonic for a happy hour. Ya ever been there? Well...I usually get the Lemon Berry Slush -- and Michaela gets the Blue Coconut. This time Michaela decided to try the Limeade Slush. WOW...it was yummy! Cool and refreshing. So I was thinking about it today...actually I was wanting one...LOL...that's how I ended up with the idea for this card.

All I did was stamp the Gerber Daisy and then stamped the Large Circle around it - colored with Copics - punched out - cut in half - then made it all sparkly and yummy with glitter. TOTALLY easy - especially with the Lime Band Note and a scrap piece of Kitchen Black. How's that for a "Happy day" Git-er-done!

have a MAGICAL day

Think Simple. Think A Muse. Think Disney.

When I got home from vacation, the A Muse 2009 Anniversary Set was waiting for me. First thing I thought of when I saw these label stamps was Mickey Mouse. I know...I know...I'm goofy! ha ha ha Get it?! Goofy?! ha ha ha...ummm...never mind! Anyways.... here's what I HAD to make with this new set.

I stamped the large circle and small circle on white cardstock - punched out the centers then layered it on top of black textured cardstock. Crystal glitter all around the outer edges of the circles. I LOVE how this turned out!! "have a Magical day" was the perfect sentiment. Takes me right back to my vacation :) The Tiny Star is stamped with Sunflower Yellow Brilliance ink - so they have some shimmer. Do ya think maybe I went a little overboard with the star Twinkle Stickers? git-er-done!

Here's a couple pics from my vacation. Every moment was MAGICAL!
Dream Along with Mickey stage show. Magic Kingdom.

House Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge

I'm back!
We had a great time on vacation last week. LOTS of fun at the Disney Parks. I'll find a couple pics and share more on that later. For now...it's House Mouse time!! Nothin' like getting right back to stamping :)

House Mouse & Friends Challenge #36 - Gate Fold Card
This weeks challenge is Janneke's idea. Create a card with a Gate Fold. Any size is fine...just make sure to use at least 1 House Mouse, Happy Hopper or Gruffies image on your creation. To see examples by the design deam - click HERE.

This House Mouse stamp is called Twinkle Toes and features Amanda. When I stamp with this image...I always think of pink and glitter :) Hummm...wonder why? LOL! Amanda is so sweet and well behaved...just like me! hee hee hee Best of all...she is full of creative energy & ideas.

My card is a standard gate fold. Totally easy to create with the Scor-Pal. 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" piece of cardstock -- put on the Scor-Pal with longer side across top. Score at 2 1/8" and 6 3/8". The Scor-Pal has these measurements marked with a small dot - so it's super simple to find.

Who is your favorite Mouse? Which of the Mice are you more like? If you're not sure - meet the mice HERE -- then decide :)
