You Know Too Much!

Do you have a friend like this? :)

This is a stamp from Stampabilities. I've had a lot of fun playing around with this one! I actually had an Easter stamp in my hand that I was going to buy...and then saw this. I had to think for a minute which one I wanted more...and of course this stamp won! I figure it can be used all the time vs. an Easter stamp only once a year. Have you seen the new line of stamps from Stampabilities called Gruffies? WAY CUTE! Go check them out here.

Card 1: Just some random misc pieces of patterned paper/cardstock and I inked up the edges directly from the ink pad. The base is White Textured CS from Bazzill. Image stamped with Adirondack Expresso and then colored with Prismacolor Pencils, Prismacolor Markers, SU Markers. Copic Spica Clear Glitter pen here and there for some sparkle. The card base I cut 3/4 inch longer and then scored and folded over. Scalloped the edge with small corner rounder. The Brown ribbon is wrapped around the back of the card by punching a hole and then wrapping the ribbon around the front - then around to the back - then pull both ends through the single hole and tie in front. (no adhesive or glue on ribbon) The pink flowers I used a Glitter Gems Pen - Ruby Red from American Crafts. And I used the Glitter Gems Pen to dot the middle of the punched out flowers.

Card 2: The layout for this card is based on Card Sketch Challenge SC163 from Splitcoaststampers. This card base is White Textured CS from Bazzill. SU Cardstock in Certainly Celery, Close to Cocoa and Bliss Blue (retired). SU Designer Series Double-sided Paper - Petal Patch (retired). Image stamped with Adirondack Expresso and then colored with Prismacolor Pencils, Prismacolor Markers, SU Markers. Copic Spica Clear Glitter pen here and there for some sparkle. The blue flower was stamped on the blue cardstock and embossed with white embossing powder. Cut out and put a knot in the ribbon and stuck it through the middle of flower and wrapped the ends around the layer. The brown brads are from CTMH - they match SU Close to Cocoa perfect. Paper piercing using the StampinUP paper piercing guide from the Mat Pack. Layer with stamped image is popped up with dimensionals.

Happy Valentine's Day

LOVE

1 Cor 13:13 says, "And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love."

What does it mean to LOVE? "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails,” Cor. 13:4-8.

Here are some pics of our fun Valentine's Day. Can you feel the love? :)

This next picture is of Michaela playing Valentine Bingo at school. She was so happy when she got to call out that she had BINGO! Look at the picture and see how she used the same color of M&M's in each separate row. I thought that was interesting...and I didn't notice any other child that did that.

Another bit of exciting news that happened on this Valentine's Day is my brother got married!! Unfortunately I wasn't able to attend. This is the card I sent to him and my new sister-in-law. I can't wait to see pictures of their big day!

Recipe: Stamps from CTMH . Silver Bazzill Cardstock for the Base and the black layer is Bazzill Bling in Black. It's really cool looking. I used my Scor-it board to emboss around the edges. Real Red Cardstock from Stampin' UP! Swarovski Crystals added some awesome sparkle. Clear Embossing Powder on the flower and stem, Silver Embossing Powder on the word.

For My Honey

Guess who this card is for....

My wonderful hubby :) He doesn't get it till tomorrow.....so SHHHHHH....don't tell him I posted it here!

I'm not gonna give all the details for making this one. I used so many shades of colored pencils, markers, inks etc that I don't think I could remember it all. Yep...one of those experiments! Everytime I put a color down on this image...it was not what I wanted so I just kept adding on more! You ever have that happen? I usually start with white cardstock to stamp an image on...but this time I didn't.....so I'm thinking that the colored CS is what threw me. And when I put the Crystal Effects on to create the Honey effect....some of the ink colors under it got a lot brighter. The good news is I really like how it turned out. :)

Most of the images are Close to My Heart stamps.

Sweet Slumber

A Sweet Treat from Penny Black

I saw this stamp at my favorite Stamp Store - Stamp Works. It's called Sweet Slumber by Penny Black. I wanted to buy it but there was a class that was using this stamp for one of the cards they were making that same day. So....my head hung low....and I had to leave that day without it :( I told Nic (the owner) that if she had one left after the class it was mine! Well, lucky me...cause she had one left and it's mine now! LOL

So here is the first card I made with it. I'm really happy with how it turned out.

Recipe:

  • Image stamped on SU Whisper White with Black Stazon

  • Colored with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol.

  • Cards Base Bazzill Black and SU Real Red and Whisper White

  • Stamped Pattern Stamp from SU Petite Designs with Black Colorbox Pigment Ink on Real Red CS then embossed with clear.

  • I also used used a Silver Metalic Marker from American Crafts on the candy wrappers and then colored over that a little with a glitter pen.

  • The red on top of the candies is colored with Red Spica Glitter Pen. I also ran the Clear Spica Glitter Pen down the stripes of the candy box and on the bow.

  • "Be Mine" on the tag is from a CTMH set called All My Love.

I'm going to make another card...of course! I want to try with more pinks and glitter. :)

(added note 2/14/08 -- I gave this card to Michaela for Valentine's Day. She really loved it!)

Friendship Collection

Birthday Goodies

I just got a couple of the new Elzybells Friendship Collection stamps and boy are the CUTE!! I found this adorable paper from Adornit (Family Collection - Family Fun Trees) and knew it would be perfect for this stamp. It's hard to see but I did add some sparkle to the flowers on the tree branch, her hairband and her shoes with a Spica Glitter Pens. If you click on the pictures you can see it better.

I gave all these goodies to my mom for her birthday.

I stamped with Black Stazon on SU Whisper White CS and colored everything except her skin with a variety of markers (Prismacolor, SU, Tombow) Her skin I used a Prismacolor Pencil (Light Peach PC927) and blended with Gamsol. The frame is a piece of chipboard from Creative Imaginations (came in a set of 98 pieces) that I covered with paper from Lasting Impressions called Citrus Dots. Then I sanded the edges. The little flower is also a chipboard piece covered with SU Dazzling Diamonds. When I put the brad on I noticed that the back part that folds out looked like little leaves sticking out. That turned out pretty cool! White Grossgrain ribbon attached to top edge of the green textured cardstock from Bazzill.

But wait....theres more! LOL I HAD to make a little matching box to put the stamp in that I was giving my mom for one of her presents.....not like the card alone is a present :)

I got the template for this Takeout Box from the SU website here. Printed it on white cs then cut it out. The stamp I used is from Great Impressions. It's called Swirls & Blossoms and was the April 2007 Stamp of the Month. Stamped with Black Stazon and colored with Prismacolor Markers to match the card. The middle of the flowers I colored in with an Orange Spica Glitter Pen. Green Textured cardstock scalloped with corner rounder and paper pierced.

Instead of just putting the handle ribbon through the side holes and tying a knot, I used picture hanger hardware from CTMH. It really adds a great touch! Sometimes it's hard to part with those cool accessories....but look how much cuter it made it! Stamped "Happy Birthday" and punched out with SU Word Window punch.

And last but not least....
This gift bag is called a 2-5-7-10 bag. I got the pattern from Splitcoast Stampers website here.

I used Versamark ink with the Twinkles SU Wheel, covered it with Kaleidoscope Embossing Powder from Stampendous to give it total sparkle! The cupcake stamp is from the Level 2 Hostess set called Cause for Celebration. I did some paper piecing using orange and green cardstock. Added some glitter because we can't ever have too much of that....right?! :)

Scalloped the Edge with Corner Rounder Punch. Square Green Scalloped piece was punched from Marvy Uchdi Purple Scalloped Square Punch. A little paper piercing and a piece of ribbon.

So......what's in the 2-5-7-10 bag?????

Well.....OK.....I'll tell you.....it was another stamp of course! The stamp was from Whipper Snapper. It's a stamp that says "I Stamp Therefore I'm Broke" How fitting :)

And what would a birthday be without cake

Sugar Coating

Beetle Black Glitter Bikini

I made this card for my son-in-law. I can't wait to see his face when he opens it! I'm thinking he will turn red! LOL

I found this pattern on SCS. It's very easy and so fun to make! It's like shopping for new panties or a new bikini as you look for just the right paper to use. Imagine all the posibilities! When I found the black shiny paper in my stash I knew it was just what I was looking for. HA! I knew I bought that piece of paper for some reason! HA HA HA.

While creating this card....I had a great idea that I would make the bra onthe inside so you could tuck a special something in it. It worked out perfect! I'm giving him movie passes...so I folded them up and tucked 'em in there. BUT....check it out!!! It is PERFECT for a gift card....or money....or a picture! I was like....."OH YA!!! This is great!" I think I just came up with something totally cool!

Recipe: Stampin'UP! Blush Blossom Cardstock; Black Shinny Paper from The Paper Company, Blush Blossom Ink sponged on for shading; Doodlebug Design inc. Sugar Coating Beetle Black Glitter put on with Zig 2-way Glue Pen; Black StazOn Ink; Stampin'UP! stamp sets - Pocket Fun, Fancy Flexible Phrases, Birthday Whimsy; Card Back Sentiment from MSE!
