NEW Spectrum Noir Illustrator Markers

Did you see the exciting Spectrum Noir news over at Crafter's Companion USA?  The NEW Spectrum Noir Illustrator Markers are now available! YEEEHAWWW!

Get more information about these markers HERE.
Purchase the markers HERE.

With all the fun adult coloring going on lately, I wanted to show how beautifully these new markers work on a Spectrum Noir Colorista Premium Marker Pads from Crafter's Companion. I picked a page from the Exquisite Florals Pad with colourable glitter.

WOW...right?!!! I love blending and shading...and with the brush nib on these new markers it's so much easier. BONUS --  the OTHER end of the marker is a super-fine nib. Absolutely amazing for coloring in the smaller areas and creating fine details.

Here are a couple pics I snapped during my coloring process.

Lori's Adult Coloring Tip
My tip if you are a newbie to adult coloring is to start by coloring the most familiar item (to you) on the page. For instance...I started coloring the leaves. I knew I was going to color the leaves green, and they were easy for me to pick out. You don't have to color all of them, just something to get you started with coloring. Next I decided I wanted to use a particular color - Aqua. So I picked out a blend of marker colors I liked, and then colored some areas. Just random areas that I felt like coloring. It's really easy once you get going.

Now...what to do with my finished page? I might cut it up and make a few cards - or maybe create a box from the page. hummmm....

Have a beautiful day my friends,

2017 Calendar

It's time for my new year calendar. For the cover, I went with a simple design.

I stamped images from the Spectrum Noir Colorista Elements 3 Stamp Set from Crafter's Companion on Spectrum Noir Ultra Smooth Premium White Cardstock. Then I colored them with Spectrum Noir Colorista Markers - Set 6.  I colored over the tiny flowers with my Clear Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen. The numbers are die-cut twice - once from the colored image and again from Kraft Cardstock.

The number dies are from Sara Davies Signature Birthday Party Collection - Fun With Numbers that were recently released on HSN.

I fussy cut the tiny flowers and added a clear droplets to the centers. I layered the kraft cardstock on the backs -- but slightly shifted. This really adds dimension, and pulls it together with the inside calendar pages.

For the January page, I die-cut the pieces from a super fun Essentials Die'sire 6 piece Treats Mini Die Set that Crafter's Companion just was also just released on HSN.

The mug is die-cut from Watercolour Cardstock 2 times. I colored the pieces with Spectrum Sparkle Pens, then layered the pieces together.
  • Mug: Moonstone, Aquamarine & Peacock
  • Coffee: Smoked Quartz
  • Steam: Clear

I just love the shimmer that the Sparkle Pens have. And...they color on the watercolour cardstock ah-mazing! Isn't that die-cut doily adorable?! The mug is popped up with dimensional foam.

Have a wonderful day,

A Colorista Christmas

Time to get those Christmas cards CRANKED OUT! Here's a fun design that can be mass produced. Even the kids can join in on coloring some of the snowflakes. Spectrum Noir Colorista Stamps are so fun! And they can be used for any occasion. I made them into snowflakes for Christmas cards.  You can stamp a bunch on one sheet, then everyone can have a sheet to color! What a great way to relax and enjoy some time with the kids, family and friends

These snowflakes are colored with Spectrum Noir Colorista Markers: Pale Mint, Pistachio, Cyan, Lipstick

Once the "snowflakes" from the Spectrum Noir Colorista Elements 3 stamp set are colored, add some glitter, cut out and attach to a note card with dimensional foam.  I added the silver twine to have my snowflakes appear as hanging ornaments, but you could leave that off it you want.

The sentiment is diecut from Crafter's Companion Sara Davies Signature Collection - Contemporary Christmas Seasonal Sentiment Die set.

Add a few rhinestones, sequins or pearls to finish up the card. That's it!

I've been having so much fun playing with all the new Colorista products. The coloring pads are super high quality. I love that I don't have to stamp a thing. Just grab my pad and box of markers and relax.

I wanted to share with you how with even just 1 box of 5 markers you get amazing results. So if you are on the go, and don't want to tote around a bunch of supplies, this makes it so easy! By blending markers together, you get a lot more colors and shades. I used Colorista Markers Set 1 and the Inspiring Sentiments Marker Pad.

I was able to create an absolutely beautiful shade of red by blending the Orchid and Rose Red markers. First I colored the Orchid, then added on Rose Red, and then back over with Orchid. WOW!

Coloring the tiny leaves was easy, thanks to the ultra fine tip end of the marker! You are going to LOVE these markers!

I got perfect shades of green by blending the Daffodil and Leaf Green markers. First I colored the entire leaf with Daffodil and then Leaf Green. Next, I colored over again with Daffodil. Then, to make one side of the leaf darker, I colored over just that area with Leaf Green. To make it even darker, I colored the area again with Leaf Green. It really makes the leaf pop!

I am in total love with the Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pens. I couldn't help but color over some areas for pop of bling-bling. Ahhhh...that's better ;)

Now it's time to get on with the blog hop and see more amazing Colorista samples!

Spectrum Noir Colorista Blog Hop

Welcome everyone! We are soooo excited about the upcoming world launch of the NEW Spectrum Noir Colorista range of adult coloring products. Tuesday, August 30th is the day to mark your calendar. Sara Davies will be on HSN introducing this new range of adult coloring products to the world!

To celebrate, we're having a week long Spectrum Noir Colorista Launch Blog Hop! Our design team members have been coloring and creating with all the new products. Hopefully, you've seen some. We've been spreading the word all over our social media channels. The sharing continues as we countdown to the world launch on HSN! So grab a cuppa and join in on this fantastic blog hop full colorful inspiration.

The Blog Hop starts at: Spectrum Noir
You should have arrived at my blog from: Nicole Bretherick
You're next stop on the hop: Tracy Freeman

I colored a card from one of the new 6" X 4" Marker Card Making Kits. These kits are a MUST HAVE! I colored the entire card in one afternoon, but you don't have to do that. Take as long as you want to color. Relax and have fun! The card kits come complete with envelopes AND inserts for each card! HAPPY DANCE!!! Doesn't get any better than that...does it?!

I colored with both Spectrum Noir Colored Pencils and Colorista Markers. First, I colored the background with pencils. Then I colored the images with the markers. On all the flowers, I added more shading with colored pencils over the marker. So you can see that these cards color beautifully with not only markers, but with colored pencils as well. As you can see, they are stunning when finished!

What I love most about this card is the pre-glittered areas. This is colorable glitter! I'm addicted to these! Wait till you see all the other pads that have glitter and foil on them. Sara will demo live on HSN how easy they are to color -- AND how magical they are :)

I snapped a few pics with my phone along my way of coloring. This gives you a bit more ideas of what they look like inside and out.

Cool stuff huh? By the way...the inserts for the cards don't have all the same sentiment. You get a nice variety. I picked this one because... "The Best is Yet to Come!" on HSN August 30th!!

Colorista Online Coloring Course

Hello friends!

Have you signed up for the FREE Spectrum Noir Colorista Online Adult Coloring Course? If not, you can get signed up HERE.

How exciting...right!! You get eight weeks of FREE coloring tips, videos, exclusive downloadable content & more. Week 1 has already started, but you can still join.

Here's what I have done so far for my week 1 coloring practice using the downloaded coloring page:

I'm coloring with the brand new Spectrum Noir Colorista Markers that will be launched August 30th on HSN. You will be able to buy them on that day...until they sell out. Which I'm sure will happen super fast! So be quick to order if you want them.

I did managed to snap a few picks when I was blending a couple of the flowers. For this first flower, I colored a base layer of Lemon Spectrum Noir Colorista Marker.

Next, working on 2 petals at a time, I colored on some Moonlight Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen.

I added on some Pink Champagne Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen.

Then I used the Moonlight Sparkle Marker again to blend where the 2 colors of sparkle pens meet.

I love how this turned out!

Here's another color combo. I started with the Cyan Spectrum Noir Colorista Marker.

Then added a bit of Cobalt Colorista Marker.

Then used the Cyan marker again to blend where the 2 colors meet, and fill  in the remaining white area of the flower petals

For the purple flower, I colored with the Purple and Cyan Colorista Marker. To color the orange flower, I used Gold and Marigold Colorista Markers.

Join in the fun!
