Got Candy?

Happy Halloween!

All stamps & Paper from A Muse. The mummy is holding a little jar of spiders. That image was stamped on Shrinky Dink. Very cool 'ey?! The spider webs were stamped with a Tsukineko Glue Pad and dusted with black glitter. I stamped one of the spiders from the Ingredients Jar (same image as on the Shrinky Dink) and stamped it under the web -- then drew a line in by hand. Sentiment is popped up on dimensionals

Bright White

A Muse Addicts Weekly Challenge #66 - Bright White

Over on the A Muse Addicts forum, Jennie's challenge this week is to use your A Muse stamps to make a one layer white card. This challenge sounded fun & easy...so I made 2 cards! YEP...that's right...2!!

Can you see the glitter on the coffee cup spots? I also put glitter on the steam, the tip of the spoon AND made little glitter dots across each side of the sentiment. :) Love the sparkly stuff!

On my 2nd card I stamped the Chandelier with Versamark - then embossed with Super Fine Detail Gold EP. Can't see it very good...but I colored in with my Clear Spica Glitter Pen. On the flames I colored in with my Gold Spica Pen. The ribbon across the top is gold..but it doesn't show very good on the pic.

BTW...did you know there are sneak peeks going on RIGHT NOW for the 2 new sets coming out from A Muse?!!! The Cupcake Builders and Baking Set will be available on the A Muse website at midnight November 3rd. COOL BEANS! These are gonna be awesome for the holidays!! Check the A Muse Crew blogs for some great sneaks. You can also see some on the A Muse News Blog too :)

I love sets that can be used for lots of different things. Did you see the Baby card I made with this set? See it HERE.

The "B" on both cards I embossed, cut out and popped up on dimensionals.

OK folks...back to stamping!!

House Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge

The Need For Caffeine

Muzzy, Amanda and Mudpie are getting their Monday Morning Kick Start! Just seems natural...doesn't it? Speaking of natural...that's the theme of this weeks House Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge:

House Mouse & Friends Challenge #11 - That Natural Feeling
Our challenge this week is Natural. Use something natural on your project, use neutral colors, stamp something natural, etc. As always, you can create anything you like as long as it features at least one House Mouse or Friends image and follows this weeks theme. We have a prize up for grabs again this week! Click HERE to get all the details for this challenge, the prize and see the awesome creations the design team came up with.

The image I used was stamped and sent to me from Emma. (thanks girl!) It's called "The Need For Caffeine." It has the whole "natural" look with the coffee sack and whole coffee beans. Plus...it's a natural thing for me to get up in the morning & have a cup-a-joe. Well...ok...several cups! FINE! I admit...I drink coffee all day long! LOL

To keep with the Natural theme...I stamped the background with my Canvas Stampin'UP background stamp on Naturals Ivory cardstock. The ribbon is also a natural color and material. Image is colored with pencils & gamsol staying with the natural colors as well. I even colored the mice their natural color :) Well...I tried to get their color as close as I could. It's hard to see on the picture...but each mouse is a different color. Amanda has fawn colored fur - she's in the bag of beans Muzzy is dark grey - he's holding up the coffee cup. Mudpie has brown fur - he's drinking from the cup.

I saved the closeup pic in a larger size. Sometimes I like to zoom in on details...so I though if any of you would like to have a closer look...you could do that on this pic.

Card is 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" The layout is based on a Card Sketch from Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenge #120. This is a great layout for larger images. I extended the bottom of the layout so I could add on some ribbon. It would also be a great place to put a sentiment.

Have an awesome week!!

Party Party Party

It was a VERY eventful weekend! Friday was my hubby's birthday and we had dinner out with family. Saturday was my granddaughters 8th Birthday Party - a 50's Sock Hop Party. Today was my Great Nephew's 1st Birthday Party.

Here's a pic from the Sock Hop. Kayla is the birthday girl...she is 6th from the left in back row. 6 of the kids in this pic are my grandchildren. My youngest daughter Michaela is standing next to Kayla. Look how much taller Michaela is...and she is 3 months younger! Crazy!

Pretty poor quality on my picture! I can never get a good shot indoors of groups. Maybe Santa will bring me a new camera this year.

That's all I have today. Come back tomorrow for House Mouse &
Friends Monday Challenge :)

Sweet Treats

A Muse Goodies To Share

Earlier this month I made this fun Halloween Treat container. Super easy to create using my A Muse stamps, Papers and Ribbons. I even made the caramel corn :) Every year when October hits, I make several batches throughout the month of this yummy treat. Actually....I had to stash some so I'd have enough to fill this container...at least till I got the picture taken! LOL Then I devoured it! I have such a sweet tooth!

This is one of the projects I sent in to A Muse Art Stamps in hopes of being asked to join their Instructor Team. Weeelllllll......guess WHAT!!!!!!! I'm now OFFICIALLY an Instructor on the Creative Team! Can you believe it?! HELLO!! I'm an A Muse Instructor!! YEEEEHAAAWWW!! (I'm sure it was the caramel corn that got their attention! LOL!)

I'm really really REALLY honored to be part of this team. I could go on and on about how much I love A Muse...but I would wear out the "!" on my keyboard!!! SEE...I did it AGAIN! ha ha ha ha.

I will be teaching classes at my local stamp store - Stamp Works. I can't wait to get in that classroom and share my love of stamping and paper crafting with others stampers. How cool is that! Well...I just noticed the time (aack!) and I better get off the computer and get some much needed rest. It's been an exciting week - especially working out all the details for attending the A Muse Instructor Training Event in Seattle --- 2 weeks from today! I get to meet Linda and most of the A Muse Crew in person! Click HERE to see a fun event that will be going on while the Crew is at the new store!

Happy Stamping...and have a great weekend!

Go Girl!

Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenge #199

There are actually 2 versions of this weeks Sketch Challenge over on SCS. You can see both options HERE. Also, this weeks Splitcoast Challenges are going PINK in honor and celebration of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

My MissyB Go Girl set got inked up for this card :) It's one of the new stamps sets from MissyB Designs. This little birthday girl is so sweet!

I colored her with Copic Markers. Her shoes, the white parts of her dress and the crown have Shimmerz painted on. I added glitter on the frosting of the cupcake. For the presents I stamped, colored, cut out and added glitter to the top squiggly part. That sentiment is a rub-on. After I put the sentiment on...I looked at it and thought...hummm...needs a little more sumpin-sumpin (did I spell that right?! ha!). Soooo....that's when I decided on the paper piercing. Ta-da! That did the trick!

The heart on the crown I stamped and cut out separate and paper pieced. Just a little extra dimension. Can you see it? hummm.... I also put some fancy Swarvoski Crystals on her crown. You ain't got a thing if you ain't got that bling! ha ha ha ha

Fall Cleaning

No pic today. Well...OK....I'll put a pic on here...just for fun :)

Meet the Naked Chef. Yep...that's his name. I guess it's a him?! ha. My dad was laying in the grass in his front yard and took this pic. Just one of the members of the family! ha ha ha ha. This pic cracks me UP!

I was actually sick most of the weekend...and just started to feel human again this afternoon! After neglecting my house for a couple days of being in bed (those of you with children know what I'm talking about!) I've got "Clean Sweep" on my mind. I seriously want to turn my house upside down and shake it...then start all over again! ha ha ha. I have GOT to get rid of stuff and clean! I'd rather be stamping!!

What does all that have to do with my blog? Glad you asked! LOL Actually...my e-mail AND my blogging need a lot of cleaning. I'm even thinking about changing to typepad. I sometimes spend a couple hours posting 1 post. That's just wrong! I get my post all nice and "perfect" and then when it's posted...I have spaces where I didn't put them...no spaces where I did put them...yadda yadda yadda. I've got so much going on these days with my stamping passion that I just don't have time to "mess around!" LOL. I'm getting involved with lots of new things too! WAY FUN!! More on that later :) I'm gonna see what typepad is all about. If it can cut my posting time in at least half...I'm movin'! Soooo.....if you notice things changing on my blog...it's cause I'm doing a clean sweep! (in between stamping of course! hee hee hee)

House Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge

Anything But A Card

House Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge #10

That's the theme of today's House Mouse Challenge - Anything But A Card. Make anything you want (except for a card of course) that features at least one House Mouse or Friends image.

This
week we have some blog candy up for grabs. Woohoo!! To be in with a chance of winning the candy please make sure your entries are in by 8pm GMT Sunday October 26th. Click HERE for more info about this challenge, the blog candy and to see all the awesome creations by the other DT members.

For this challenge I decided to make
a calendar. Not just ANY calendar...this calendar is SUPER DUPER SPECIAL! Details HERE and at bottom of this post.

The House Mouse images are all stamped with Black VersaFine Ink and colored with Prismacolor Pencils & Gamsol. I cut them out and attached with dimensionals. The bat wings I colored over with Orange Spica Glitter Pen. This HM image is from the Halloween Clear Set. Sentiment is from StudioG.

November I used HM Jump For Joy stamp. The leaves in the background and sentiment are from a Stampin'UP! set called Thoroughly Thankful. Leaves and lines around mouse have Stickles glitter glue.

For December I used a stamp from the HM Christmas Clear Set. The sentiment is from an A Muse clear set called Missy's Holiday. The ribbon on the gift is colored over with Red Spica Glitter Pen.

Did you notice I stamped a mousie footprint on the holidays? Cute huh :) When you flip up the previous month page...you will see a place to write events or important notes. These calendars are way cool! Calendar base and pages are put together with my Bind-It-All.

You can get this A Muse calendar downloaded to you - as well as 2 other calendar choices. All versions of the A Muse Calendar include 16 months (Sept. 2008 - Dec. 2009). They also include a perpetual calendar which is great for keeping track of birthdays and anniversaries. The A Muse Calendar is a very fun project. Personalized calendars make great gifts! Best of all - 100% of the proceeds from the sale of the A Muse Calendars will benefit the The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

No Card Today

Halloween Decorations

Yesterday my daughter Sabrina came over and we made these cute chipboard decorations. They are so fun! I should have taken pics of hers...but I forgot. I'll see if she can take a pic and e-mail it to me then I'll show you all.

I left this pic a little bigger so you can zoom in on it closer if you want :)

Plain 3 x 3 alpha chipboard pieces are covered with paper. I LOVE this paper from Rusty Pickle. It's the Addams Family series. Cut out around all the edges then sanded to smooth it out. Inked up the chipboard edges with black ink and sponge dauber. The backs of tiles are covered with textured cardstock so you see that through the letters. Holes punched with Crop-a-dile and then tied together with ribbon. I added a glittered ghost popped up on dimensional. I also stamped part of a spider web in the lower corner on the last tile and added some black glitter.

Inchies Challenge with Elzybells

Another Elzybells Challenge

This challenge was to incorporate inchies in our project. I love using punches...so this was FUN! I had little 1" squares all over my workspace :) stamp stamp stamp - punch punch punch! LOL

Here's what I came up with:

On my last post I said I had another project to share with LOTS of embossing? This is it! The entire white background is embossed with Embossing Glitter. Really sparkly IRL!! First I stamped the cute little penguin and colored him. Then I inked the entire surface with my Versamark pad -- sprinkled on the EP and watch the magic of my heat gun :) Man that's cool!!

All the stamping on the squares are stamped and embossed with white detail ep.

Things are heatin' up...

...with my embossing gun!

I just LOVE watching EP (embossing powder) melt and get all glossy & shiny. Heat embossing is one of my favorite techniques. I made a couple cards today with a set from SU called Just B.

The "B" and flower were stamped with Real Red Craft Ink and embossed with clear ep. The bees wings are sparkly -- 1 is colored with a Clear Spica Pen, the other with a glue pen & glitter.

I have a card to show you tomorrow that has tons of embossing on it! Come back and see :)

Autumn Leaves Kaleidacolor

Rainbow Ink Pads

Before I get to the stamping stuff...I have to say YEEHAW!! I FINALLY figured out how to do a feathered edge on my pics in Photoshop!! My close peeps know that I'm all into the computer stuff. (It was my job for over 25 years!) I also do all sorts of fun stuff to photos on the computer - at least I did -- before I got Photoshop! For some reason I had this mental block on how to do feathered edges. I read all about it...but STILL didn't "get it." I did it before in the old programs I used...so how come this one was so hard? Wellllll...today...the light went on! So guess what? The pic on my post today has soft edges :) YIPPEE!! OK...back to the stamping stuff...

Have you ever used Kaleidacolor Rainbow Ink Pads? I have a couple of them and they are really fun to stamp with.

This new set from Stampin'UP! called Upsy Daisy I thought worked great with this ink pad. This card was SUPER simple. I stamped the image directly on the cardbase as well as some background on the top. I inked up the sentiment with the green from the Kaleidacolor pad. The rest is pretty easy to figure out. Pretty cool don't ya think :) And the feathered edges on the pic.....isn't that AMAZING! ha ha ha ha

House Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge

Time for your Monday Morning Kick Start!

Here we are again...Monday morning! Came fast didn't it. Is it just me....or does everyone else think the days are going by faster than they used to?! Oh well...I just need to stop trying to fit 48 hours of play into a 24 hour day :) Speaking of playing....let's get on with the House Mouse Challenge.

House Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge #9 - Sketch
With the sketch you can - flip it, stretch it, shrink it, twist it, add accents to it BUT you MUST be able to see the original sketch on your project. You may add any text you would like anywhere on the card. It's entirely your choice what you make - but it must features at least one House Mouse or Friends image and follows this weeks theme. Get all the details about the challenge & take a look at all the awesome creations the rest of the DT did with this sketch HERE.

I had a hard time with this sketch. Actually...I think my eyes popped out when I saw it! I'm more into simple...and I didn't see this as simple. Do you? THEN...after staring at it for about 3 days (LOL) I got it! I saw the bottom layer as 1 piece with a strip over it. Ahhh......it's all good.....I can proceed! hee hee hee. I really think this would make an awesome scrapbook page with a pic in the center. Maybe next time - but this time you get to see a card :)

I decided against putting something in all 4 corners. Maybe it would have been good...but I kept thinking the card had enough on it already. I would love to hear your thoughts on it. :)

This House-Mouse stamp features Monica. Isn't she just the sweetest little thing. I love how soft and fuzzy she looks :) You can't see it in the pic...but I added a touch of Clear Spica Glitter Pen on the cotton ball. Coloring was done with Primacolor Pencils and Gamsol. The buttons are tied on the strip of puff balls. It worked perfect with the spacing of those little puffs. I don't know if the strip of puff is considered ribbon....I think it is....cause it was on a roll in with all the ribbons at the scrapbook store where I bought it.

I even put something fun on the inside of the card this time. A piece of patterned paper punched with my SU Slit punch. They sentiment is velum. I didn't stamp on there...it came like that.

Sketch Challenge 197

Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenge 197

Did you see the Sketch Challenge for this week over on Splitcoatstampers? SC197 - It's a nice simple layout.

See all the details HERE and lots of samples in the gallery HERE. I used it to make a birthday card. On the inside of the card I stamped Happy Birthday.

I used an A Muse stamp and stamped it a couple times to get the image across the strip. Coloring is done with Ink and Aquapainter. One of the trees I samped again and cut out to pop up on dimensionals. I ran a piece of Chocolate Chip Cardstock through my diecut machine with the Textile Cuttlebug Embossing Folder. Then I inked the edges of that piece with Colorbox Chalk Chestnut Roan -- and also rubbed over the embossing with it too. Just a little color to give the piece more interest. It's really hard to see in the pic.

Hey...you know what...I'm really tired at the moment...so I'll quick type the recipe. Sorry if I forgot something...but I'll be back Monday morning to re-check my post (yawn!!)

Baby Teddy Towel

Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge #61

Isn't this teddy so cute!! I got this stamped image from Emma over at Stamp Addict. The image is an Elzybells stamp called Baby Teddy Towel. It's perfect for Beate's Sketch Challenge.

The double-sided cardstock is from American Crafts. It's called Something Blue and Baby Tom Thumb. Works great for this sketch. I love the clean fresh design. I did all the coloring with Copic Sketch Markers. Main image layer popped up on dimensionals. I created the large partial circle by using the lid of a paint can to trace around. Then after I cut it out, I used my 1/8" Magic Matter to make the brown layer behind it. Do any of you remember the Magic Matter? SU sold it along time ago by the name of Layer Ease.

I'm a little late with my post today. I've been stamping like crazy lately! You would think I'd be all caught up on stuff.....but....NOT!! And then strange things happen during the day that interrupt my creative flow....such as feeding my kid....or doing laundry! Can you imagine!! ha ha ha ha ha!!

You Got Any Plans?

Page Plans: Week 25

I need to give a big YEEHHAAAWWW to my good blogging friend Lorie over at Live-Love-Laugh-Create. Lorie was selected to be part of the Page Plans Design Team. She announced it on her blog HERE. YIPPEE for LORIE!! :) Sooooo....I wanted to share with you Lorie's first "official post" as a DT member HERE. AND.....TODAY is her birthday!!!! Happy Birthday Lorie!! Being the good blogging friend that I am (hee hee hee) -- I figured I better get a Page Plan done and posted. Totally in Lorie's honor ;o) Especially since it's her birthday! Visit Page Plans Blog HERE for all the details for Week 25.

For my card I used A Muse Images. I LOVE this little Mummy!! He's totally waving to say hi!

The Sentiment, Bird and Mummy are all stamped and then embossed. The little black bird is perfectly placed by using my Stamp Positioner - a must have tool for all stampers! The Fence is stamped with gray ink. Check out how cool the yellow cardstock looks!! I got that awesome shimmery effect by painting Shimmerz all over the oval piece. The little yellow circle pieces under the brads and the mummy's eyes are also painted with Shimmerz.

Harvest Fruit Desserts

Autumn Fruit and Sweet Spices

Every year starting in August, I buy boxes of fruit that come right off the truck direct from Utah. This fruit comes once a week till around the 1st of October. We have a 2nd refrigerator out in the garage...and I store most of it in there. Take a look in 2 of the drawers. And that's not all of it! Keeping most of it in cold storage makes it last for weeks. I just take out enough for several days to ripen at room temp. And as you can see...there's plenty more to come back for! Check out those peaches!!

Today I decided to make something with pears for dessert. I tried a new recipe called Pear Gingerbread Cobbler. OH MAN!!! This was goooooooooood! I will be making it again. The recipe is from Betty Crocker Gold Metal. My thighs say thank you very much! ha ha ha I'll work it off with a couple hours of stamping :)

mmmm......my house was smelling so good! And I was burning a pumpkin pie candle from Gold Canyon Candles - awesome smells going on in my house! I wonder if the neighbors got a whiff?! hee hee hee.

I'm droolin' just looking at the pics!

Pear Gingerbread Cobbler
(Makes 8 Servings)

1/3 cup sugar
1 tablespoon cornstarch
6 cups 1/2-inch slices peeled pears (5 medium)
3 tablespoons water
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Gingerbread Topping (below)

1. Heat oven to 375 deg. Mix sugar and cornstarch in large bowl. Add pears; toss to coat. Gently stir in water and lemon juice. Spread in ungreased rectangular baking dish, 11x7x1 1/2 inches.

2. Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until mixture is bubbly around edges.

3. Meanwhile, make Gingerbread Topping. Drop tablespoonfuls of topping batter onto hot pear mixture.

4. Bake 15 to 20 minutes longer or until toothpick inserted in topping comes out clean and pear mixture is bubbly in center. Cool 20 minutes. Serve Warm.

Gingerbread Topping
1 cup all-purpose flour

House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge

Trick or Treat

Wooohooo!! It's Monday! I know everyone is totally excited that it's Monday...right?! hee hee hee. Well...you should be.........beeeeecause it's time for you Monday Morning Kick Start! Another FUN House Mouse and Friends Challenge :)

House Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge #8 - Halloween.
Let's see some creations with Halloween as the theme. If you don't own any Halloween stamps then just use a Halloween color scheme :) It's entirely your choice what you make - card, lay out, atc, etc anything goes as long as it features at least one House Mouse or Friends image and follows this weeks theme. AND....there's Blog Candy up for grabs this week!! Get all the details about the challenge & blog candy - plus see all the awesome DT Halloween creations HERE.

For my card I used Beates Weekend Sketch Challenge #60. My favorite way to color in these cute little creatures is with colored pencils and Gamsol. I LOVE these images!! They always turn out SO CUTE! Look at that little tongue :')

The main image is stamped with VersaFine Black - but I stamped off once to get a little lighter image. The orange background paper is retired from Stampin'UP! I put two black eyelets in the corner of the image layer and tied black twine through them. Main image layer is popped up on dimensionals.

So.....who's gonna play along this week?! Remember...if you don't have any HM & Friends Halloween stamps...you can create something using Halloween colors.
