Storage Ideas & Tips

IDEA Great find at IKEA!

When I spotted these, there was no hesitation......I grabbed a set and knew exactly what I was going to do with them -- buttons & flowers! A set of 4 glass jars with screw on plastic lids for $2.99! What a DEAL! They are 3 1/4" tall. Set on a shelf, in a wire basket, in a drawer or whatever. How about filling one with goodies and decorate to give as a gift to a paper crafting friend - or use for a door prize. Now I'm thinking I should have picked up 2 sets!

TIP Recycle your Gold Canyon Candle Jars!

The same idea here with the buttons and flowers. These jars are just too nice to throw out. Standard (aka Heritage) Gold Canyon jars are classic and they all match! Some specialty candle jars add variety. The large Baking Crock jar is no longer sold, but I saved all my empties because I just knew I would find a use for them!

TIP How do you clean out those candle jars?

What I do is when they are done burning, I set the jar on a candle warmer. You can pick them up about anywhere...Walmart, Target, Michael's etc. When the remaining wax is melted, it's easy to pour out. Then I wipe the inside with a paper towel to get as much melted wax left as possible. Be careful because the glass could be hot from sitting on the warmer. After that I get my water hot in the sink and take a soapy sponge and wash it out. Soak the jar in a bowl of hot water to help remove the labels. Peel the labels off and remove any residue with your favorite sticky stuff remover. Last I run them through the dishwasher. The plastic ring around the lids can be removed to wash inside the mini lids. That's all there is to it!

If you have any ideas I would love to hear about it and see some pictures :)

Fun Filled Weekend!

As hard as it is to pull away from crafting.....we had an action packed weekend full of family fun! A week of Vacation Bible School ended Friday with the Game Day Central Carnival. My youngest daughter Michaela forgot her VBS t-shirt - Opps!! Kayla is my grandaughter. (yes...they are both 6 and Kayla is 3 months older than Michaela - figure that one out - lol)

All the kids had a blast playing games and burning off some energy! They look forward to this every summer.

Then Saturday it was off to my grandson's birthday party. Another action packed day for the kids! When it came time for the cake & ice cream...the birthday boy and his little friend just couldn't get to it quick enough!

Last night I finally sat down and cut out some of my NEW SU Stamps and mounted them! Can't wait to CREATE!! Check back on my blog to see what I come up with :)

HAVE A GREAT WEEK!

Happy Birthday Jewel

The Birthday Girl! June 21st

We picked up Jewel when she was just 5 weeks old. Boy has she grown fast!

She is really a good girl. We did go through a "chew up everything" stage....totally expected from a Labrador Retriever.

We did have to replace the drip lines in our back yard 3 times - but she is over that now. :) She loves to play ball and NEVER gets tired of it! Of course she loves the water.

Break Out Those Hinges!

Ok....I promise these are the last pics of the "DAD" items. But I wanted to share how awesome they look connecting them with hinges instead of ribbon!! These 2 were made with 3 x 3 chipboard alphabets.

I would have posted them sooner....but I didn't want the "boys" to see them before they got them :)

Happy Anniversary Nic!

WHAT SALE?

Every Saturday one of my favorite stores - Stamp Works has a $1 Make-n-Take. My 6 year old daughter Michaela and I like to go and then shop around the store for those "gotta have" goodies. So....when we headed over there this morning we had NO idea there was a big 1 Year Anniversary celebration going on! You know what that means....more goodies get to come home with us!

Oh yes...you know it....I got ALL EXCITED! 20% off everything in the store! FREE Make-n-Takes, Door Prize Drawings and Refreshments! Somebody hold me back!! Now this is the way to start off your day! To start off I grabbed the Silhouette Dress stamp I have been looking at everytime I go there.

A Dot Background stamp jumped off the shelf right into my basket. Then I spotted the "what's brewing?" saying that I had to have because it's PERFECT for the Like it a Latte stamp set from Stampin' UP! Then a fun Postage Stamp Frame stamp was looking for a new home -- so yah -- it found ME.

What about Bellas? Haven't you got a Bella yet? Well...OK...I guess I need one of those too! How could I resist the Stacyfisabella since I have been making fish stuff for Father's Day! LOL. So that was easy to pick and the 2 sayings to go with it - "Wish Big" and "Worm Wishes."

Hummm....what's this?......Glow in the Dark Embossing Powder? Way cool! Pewter Mini Spiral Clips? What the heck. Finally, to top it all off with some Sparkle -- Aqua Stickles. Yep - that should do it!

***Today's Make-n-Take Card***

Thanks Nic for a year of great customer service! You are so darn cute & always have a smile on your face! And Michaela LOVED her special treat. An adorable box filled with American Crafts goodies!

Paper Crafting for Dad

Memories for Father's Day

Look at what can be created easily with square chipboard alphabet letters & paper. These are so fun to make and the ideas are endless! The chipboard pieces are 4 1/2 inches. Punching holes through the chipboard is a breeze with the We R Memory Keepers Crop-A-Dile .

And a matching card of course!

Use the letter "O" for the picture frames.
This one my daughter created.

Chipboard from Unique Pages. Papers from Close to My Heart, My Mind's Eye & Brazzill Basics Paper. Craft Inks from Stampin' UP! & Fluid Chalk from Clearsnap. Misc. embellishments and other supplies from various resources.
