It's time to Make a Splash!

It's time for another House Mouse Monday Challenge!
WOO HOO!!!!

HM & Friends Monday Challenge #77 - Make a Splash!
Anything "water" goes. Water in your stamped image, watercoloring, watermark stamping, sentiment with the word water in it, etc. Super easy...right :) Join us for the challenge and you could even win a prize! Get all the challenge and prize details...plus see all the AMAZING samples the design team came up with HERE.

Guess who came up with this challenge idea...

Yep....me.

I have several "water" items on my card. But before I tell you all about it...I need to point something out. Actually...my hubby pointed it out to ME.

Lori: Look how cute my card turned out!!!

Mike: Cute...but that's a lobster...not a crab.
Lori: (As I turn the card around to look at it)
Lori:

Lori: Hummm...I think I have a sentiment that says "Have a Snappy Birthday."

Mike: Yeah...that would work better.

Lori: (Spends 20 minutes searching for a stamp she "thinks" she has.)

Lori: I swear I thought I had a stamp that said that!

Mike: Just go with what you have. Nobody will notice.
Lori: Well YOU did! FINE...I'll go with it.

So there you have it. Just go with it....OK?

House Mouse and Palm Tree stamped on watercolor paper then colored with watercolor pencils and aqua painter. Palm Tree is cut out and popped up. The designer paper is called A Day at the Beach...so it has a water theme to it.

The waves in the water are drawn with a white gel pen. Ultrafine Flower Soft looks sooooo cool on the sand! I painted over the "Lobster" with Illuminate Smooch. Hard to see in the pic...but it's shimmery.

I also added a touch of Green Apple Smooch to the palm tree...and some Fun Flock on the coconuts. The coconuts were also cut out and popped up.

But wait!!! That's not all!!! I even did something on the inside of the card! lol

Mouse prints are stamped with watermark ink.

Well...if I ever find a "snappy" sentiment...it will be easy enough to switch out my little hanging sign. I still LOVE how this card turned out.

Just Monkeying Around...

...with my new Stampendous Changito Stamp.

There are several series of stamps that I love from Stampendous...like Fluffles, Max the Mouse and Bee Happy. When they released their new Spring 2008 stamps and I saw the Changito B-day stamp I just "HAD" to have it! LOL You all know what I mean...those gotta have moments :)

Recipe:
Stamps - Stampendous Changito B-day and Palm Fronds; SU All Year Cheer II (retired); Stamping Bella (part of a sentiment stamp that I used "to you" from)
Cardstock - SU Naturals Ivory; Glorious Green; Only Orange; Basic Black; Kraft
Inks - Ranger Adirondack Pitch Black Ink; SU Glorious Green Classic Ink and Marker, Prismacolor Markers; Micron for hand doodling
Misc - Colored Staples from CTMH; SU Orange Ribbon; Twine; Glue Pen; Glitter; Brown and White Fun Flock; Eyelets; Dimensionals; Sticky Strip
Punches - SU Oval Punches
For the monkeys on the front I stamped once on Kraft CS and then once on Ivory CS. Cut out the little mouth part and pieced it on top of main image. Stamped again on Only Orange and pieced the Happy B-day section. Stamped the monkey again on Ivory and cut out for the inside. Both layers are attached with dimensionals.

Fun Flock Fun

Christmas Pilgrims?
Yep...that's what the stamp is called. I haven't quite figured that out?? Anyhow...this Penny Black stamp is SO CUTE!! My mom gave it to me for Christmas last year. Time to have fun!

I made this card for Thursday's SplitcoastStampers DTGD Challenge. The challenge was to use Fun Flock. This stuff is SO COOL! I think I have every color (I have 12!)

Recipe:
The dog stamp is from Penny Black. Snowflake Stamp is from Rubber Stampede, Snow Drifts stamp is from Inky Antics and the saying stamp is from Great Impressions. Dogs and Snow Drift stamped using Black Stazon ink. I put Fun Flock on the hats using a glue pen. I did the red first and then the white. Stamped the snowflakes on blue paper with White Craft ink and then used heat & stick powder to apply white flock. Snow Glitter from Stampendous all over. The saying is stamped in Black Craft and embossed with Clear. I stamped the snowflakes all over the card base in Real Red Classic. Doggies are colored with blue & red markers and shading done with a Cool Grey Prisma pencil & Gamsol. Doggies and sayings are popped up with SU Stampin' Dimensionals. At the last minute, I added a Black spiral clip with some ribbons knotted on it -- just seemed to add that little extra touch.

All inks used on this card are available through Stampin' UP! If you live in the Phoenix area, you can buy all the colors of Stampendous Fun Flock at Stamp Works in Chandler.

My daughter Alisha made this cute Worm Wishes card. She used the Bugs & Kisses stamp set from Stampin' Up! She Fun Flocked the worms & embossed the words and lady bug. Paper and Ink are from Stampin' Up!
