God Bless America

Hey everyone,

Here's a fun patriotic card I created to celebrate 4th of July.

It was one of my first attempts using the NEW Spectrum Noir ArtLiner Pens. I'm pretty happy with how it all turned out.

I made this into a stepper card using stamp sets from Crafter's Companion USA. And what would a 4th of July design be without a bunch of sparkle and shine! Glitter Glitter Glitter!

If you want to get these NEW Spectrum Noir ArtLiner Pens, you are in luck! They will be available from Crafter's Companion USA on Thursday July 6th.

Read more about these great pens on the Spectrum Noir Blog HERE.

Have a safe and blessed day,

Independence Day Sparkle

Hey everyone. Have you had a chance to check out the new Patriotic Stamp Sets that were recently released over at Crafter's Companion USA? They are SO MUCH FUN! I just KNOW you’re going to love them as much as I do.

I made this card using the Independence Day set.

This card has some CRAZY sparkle and shimmer in real life! I colored the firecracker and stars with Spectrum Noir Markers: DR4, TB4 and TB6. Then I added a super fun glitter mix that had in my MASSIVE stash. It's from Stampendous Frantage line called Silver Halo Mix. I don't know if you can get it anymore, but you could always mix up a blend of your own. Just use some silver and crystal glitters in different sizes.

For the striped background panel, I scribbled some Marine Spectrum Aqua Watercolor Marker on a clear stamping block and then used a wet watercolor paintbrush to paint on the stripes on watercolor cardstock. Once the panel was dry, I brushed Crystal Overlay Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen over the blue stripes. It not only gave it a fantastic shimmer, it also gave the stripes even more watercolor effect.

TIP: To remove any blue ink that is picked up on the Clear Sparkle Marker brush, simple wipe the marker on a clean scrap paper.

That’s it for me today, friends! I've got a LOT of catching up to do in my craft room before I head out on vacation again. Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a good one!

NEW Patriotic Stamp Sets from Crafter's Companion

We have MORE NEW GOODIES over at Crafter's Companion USA! Two brand new EZ-Mount Patriotic Stamp Sets! YAY!

Here's a card I made using stamps from both of the new sets: 4th of July and Independence Day.

These new sets are PERFECT for all year long...not just 4th of July. They will be great to use birthdays, thank you cards, summer theme, New Years and even Christmas! I'll be using the banner stamps with sentiments from other sets as well! SCORE!

I colored the images with Spectrum Noir Markers as follows:
  • Red - PP3, CR5, DR4, DR6
  • Blue - TB4, Blender
  • Yellow - CT1, CT3, GB6

Stamping Tips:
Apply ink to only the firecracker, leaving the string and burst uninked. Now you can stamp the 3 star sentiment image on top instead. This is a great way to get more designs from your stamps!

Another fun idea with the stars is to change up the text in the stars. Just don't ink the centers of that part of the stamp image, and you're left with a blank center to customize as you wish!

Crafter's Companion has freebie patriotic papers for everyone! I printed one of them for my cardbase. You could even print on both sides of the cardstock for some fun double-sided designer papers. They work great for 3D projects - such as boxes and bags!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Star Spangled Mice

Oh do I love my House-Mouse. Here's a card I made for the House-Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge Blog.

Challenge #196 - Holiday. Choose any holiday you like.

I did all my coloring with Spectrum Noir Blendable Colored Pencils and Blending Solution.

Pencil Colors:
  • Skin - 005, 008, 009
  • Fur - Left Mouse 108, 110
  • Fur - Middle Mouse 112, 117
  • Fur - Right Mouse 91, 89
  • Flag - 073, 071, 027, 033, 115
  • Stars - 017
  • Sky - 065, 115
  • Ground - 115, 112

The stamp is from Stampendous and it's called Star Spangled Mice. Adorable! I also drew a star and colored it with the 017 pencil. All the stars are then covered with Bananan Glitter from Art Glitter. The sentiment banner is also hand cut.

You are Awesome!

Suprise! Me again. Today's a new challenge over at Fresh Brewed Designs.

Freshly Brewed Challenge - Red, White and Blue.

This digi image worked great for the challenge. It's called Face 6. With digi images you can make 'em as big or small as you want. Perfect for coloring. And... it's only $3. HELLO! Grab it for yourself right HERE.

I first colored with Spectrum Noir Markers:
  • Skin - FS2, FS3, FS9, TN2
  • Blues - TB1, TB4, TB6
  • Reds - PP3, CR5, DR2
  • White areas - IB1

Then enhanced the coloring with Spectrum Noir Colored Pencils:
  • Skin - 004, 089 (Essentials set)
  • Blues - 074, 075 (Marine set)
  • Reds - 028 (Floral set)
  • White - 001 (Essentials set)

Around the outer edges of the eye and the lashes are colored over with a black glitter pen.  The lips and eye are covered with clear embossing powder to make 'em shiny.

I added glitter to the white part of the eye makeup and the die-cut sentiment. The "you are" part of the sentiment is stamped and heat embossed. The little stars are sequins.

July 2014 Calendar Page

ATTEN-SHUN! It's time for another Paper Smooches Calendar Page!

Did you know that Paper Smooches has a special stamp set that helps our troops? A portion of the proceeds for each "Circle of Honor" set that is sold will be donated to the Operation Write Home foundation. Isn't that AWESOME!

My July page is decorated in style with images from the Circle of Honor set.

The stars are stamped on the page and covered with glitter. The eagle is stamped, colored and cut out. I added clear glaze to the body, beak and eye. He's attached to the page with foam adhesive.

Thanks for stoppin' by to check out this months page. I really appreciate it!

Freedom for all

I'm back to share another card I made using one of the NEW Fresh Brewed Designs Cutie Bug Digi Images. This one is called Cutie Bug with Sparkler.

Digi stamps are cool because you can make them any size you want...AND...flip them around! Awesome huh!?!

I added glitter to the sparklers, wings and a few other spots. Once again I used my clear glaze pen to add some shine in various places.
Sorry for the blur on the pic. It was a late night!

Have you checked out the Release Party going on over on the Fresh Brewed Designs Facebook Page? Don't miss it! Join the fun HERE.
