My challenge this week: Make birthday cards for the boys. I would love for you to play along this week...especially since I'm hosting it! And...I have an A Muse Studio Ocean Pigment Ink pad to give away :) Get all the challenge details on the A Muse Studio Monday Challenge Blog.
OK...I know some of you have a hard time with guy cards...so here's a Lori Barnett Tutorial:
1. Fold piece of white paper in half.
2. Stamp "Happy Birthday" on front with Blue Ink.
BAM! Yer done! Yes...it could be that easy. But that's not how I usually roll with it. I can spend HOURS coming up with just the right card for that special someone. Sound familiar? We are faaareaks! ha!! Here's a few guy card tips:
~ Keep it age appropriate.
~ Avoid glitter, rhinestones, buttons, shimmer sprays, ribbon, flowers, fancy punched edges, scallops, pink & purple.
~ Think Clean and Simple (CAS)
If I like it...I'm good with it.
For the ball, I stamped the little dots background image from the new A Muse Studio Mod Backgrounds 1 Set with Slate Pigment Ink - then punched out a 1/2" circle and attached with foam dimensional tape. Sentiment stamped with Ocean Pigment Ink. "have a swingin' " stamp is actually "have a swingin' day" -- but left off the "day" so I could stamp a the big "birthday" under it instead.
Speaking of birthdays - we are celebrating our 1st Birthday at A Muse Studio! All sorts of fun & prizes over on Facebook. Plus, workshop orders have some AWESOME incentives! Email me if you have questions. Don't forget about our March Spotlight Specials...where we have even MORE birthday goodies!
