What's inside the box?

Let's take a peek inside...
Hey all you House Mouse Lovers!!
It's Monday Morning.....and you know what that means...

House Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge #31 - Bags & Boxes
Make your own bag or box or make something out of a bag or box. Decorate your project however you like...but make sure to include at least 1 HM or Friends image. We also have a sponsor this week...and that means a prize!! OH YEAH BABY! For all the challenge details and to see creations by the Design Team - click HERE.

I created this box out of a printed template from this weeks sponsor - The Cutting Cafe.

The House Mouse stamp I used is Jumpin' for Joy. Doesn't Monica look happy!! :)

Below the ribbon that is around the lid I put little dots of glitter. Actually...there's lots of wonderful sparkle all over this thing! And see that white ribbon tied over on the right side...

...there's a little glittered tab hidden behind it. When you pull that out...

...you get a little note card...

...perfect to write something special in there. How FUN is THAT!!!

Now lets look inside...

...a nice little surprise!!

That's not all...turn over the bottom...and I put little Dew Drops on there for feet. Also...MORE GLITTER!!

And you thought it was just gonna be some boring little box didn't ya? LOL

Because of all the different things I did to make this...I'm not EVEN gonna try to list all the products and links. I'll just give ya the main stuff. Hope you have time this week to make a special little box or bag :)

Playing with...

...my new A Muse Stamps

Don't ya just looooove getting new stamps?! I DO! And I loooooooove playing with 'em too :) The new floral images just released from A Muse are amazing!

Here's one I made using the new Euclayptus and new Thank You. Also...new Sage Green Solid Note card & Juliette Sage Green Cardstock.

I sanded off the edges of my papers...stamped the euclayptus a few times then highlighted with a white gel pen...stamped the sentiment in brown...stuck down a strip of brown grosgrain ribbon, added a flower....DONE!

This next one I used the new Solid Zinnia to do a resist technique - and the Open Zinnia for a background pattern.

I stamped the Solid Zinnia on glossy cardstock with Tangerine Chalk Ink - then I took Lime Pastel Chalk Ink and pressed the ink pad directly to the entire surface. Wipe off right away with a paper napkin in small circular motion. Does this sound complicated? It's totally easy...promise! Now let the piece dry while you do the rest of the card - maybe about 20 or 30 minutes? Or you can heat set it real quick with your heat gun. THEN -- using Ancient Page Coal Black ink...I stamped have a beautiful day! right on top. YOU MUST let this dry - cause on glossy cardstock it doesn't soak. I hit mine with the heat gun to set it in...cause I wanted to touch it right away!! I couldn't help myself -- it's so smooth & shinny :)

I'm not really sure about the Lime Pastel on here - I was going more for a green color...but it looks more yellow to me. I almost didn't even post it...but I though "what the heck...somebody might like it" LOL!!!! I'm thinkin' I wanna give it a go again with a blue. I love experimenting with stuff like this!

Now...pardon me while I go play more!!! Yippee!!!

Calendar Goodies

Simple Celebrations

YIKES! It's almost April...and I haven't shared the calendar that I've been working on!! These great calendars are available from A Muse. You just print, cut, & decorate. SUPER SIMPLE!

One of my favorite clear stamps sets from A Muse is called "Simple Celebrations." And check this out...I'm stamping all the pages of my calendar with this set! There's something for EVERY MONTH!! OH YEAH BABY...now THAT'S what I'm talkin' about!

Those snowflakes & snowman on January have plenty of glitter on them...but can you see it on this pic? NO! DRATS!

For February I added some sparkle with a Spica Glitter Pen and a heart Twinkle Sticker. The Sentiment is called HVD Manuscript and I stamped the Tiny Heart on the 14th.

Those Yellow Tulips are colored with a Yellow Spica Glitter Pen...VERY SHIMMERY! I also used the Tiny Shamrock to mark St. Patty's Day.

April was fun to make...cause I covered my bunny with Fun Flock. I love touching that fuzzy stuff :) OH...and those eggs in the basket...I colored over them with a clear glaze pen. Grass stamp is from the HERO Mail set.

For May I used 2 other great clear sets- Tag Time & Rectangle Frames. I wanted the frame a little larger...so I just stretched it out. That's COOL how you can do that with clear stamp! And a little blue Twinkle Sticker on top of the hat.

June is when it really starts heating up here in Phoenix...so it was a MUST to have cool water on this page! Those flip-flops are stamped with pink ink...and colored in with pink marker.

School starts in August for my kids...so the little school house works perfect here.

The pumpkins for October are stamped on A Muse Kitchen Orange cardstock. I shaded in with markers and then cut 'em out & stacked them. And I LOVE LOVE LOVE the little Solid Bird. I Even stamped him on the 31st.

That's it for now. When I get the last few pages finished...I'll share those with ya too ;)

Wild Blossom Sunday

Servin' up more amuse-bouche

Here's another new A Muse image for ya to feast your eyes on. This one's called Wild Blossom. When I first saw this stamp - "crayon resist" stuck in my head. Maybe 'cause I bought some new wax resist sticks...hummm...yep...I think that's it! ha ha ha. How convenient ;)

I stamped the Wild Blossom on glossy cardstock. You can see where I colored with the wax stick...it's where there is white showing. Then I sponged all over with blue ink & wiped off with a paper towel. Pretty cool if I do say so myself! I added little touches of glitter...cause...you know...it was a MUST. heeHEE. The finishing touch was little punched out glittered butterfly.

Sooooo.....how ya like all the wonderful amuse-bouche being served up by all the Muses? I'm thinkin' it's some pretty yummy stuff. Personally...I'm THRILLLED with all these new fresh & fun florals. They're gonna get lots of lovin' in my house :)

House Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge

Mudpie Munch

House Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge #29 - Sketch
This weeks challenge is a wonderful sketch. Go forth and stamp NOW! LOL!! As always...just make sure you use at least 1 HM or Friends image. For all the challenge details and to see creations by the Design Team - click HERE. There's a prize this week! WOOHOO!!

This HM stamp is called Mudpie Munch. You can always tell which mouse is Mudpie by the little nick in his ear. He's brown and loves to eat & sleep. Mudpie is on several of the DT creations this week -- can you find him? I have to laugh...cause he is munching or sleeping in most of the pics! ha ha ha

Don't forget...you can click the pics to see them up close & personal :)

I just love the colors on this card! Coloring is done with Prismacolor Pencils & Gamsol. I did lots of sanding...cause I love that look...especially with HM images. Some paper piercing and glitter is always a good thing...so I got that in there too. That lavender glitter is a perfect match with the paper. All the flowers got a little sprinkled on them.

I made a fun die-cut flower for the round layer of the layout. It's actually 2 pieces -- 1 cut out of CS - the other from acetate. I also embossed the acetate piece with my Swiss Dots embossing folder. WAY COOL! THEN...I added glitter to each of the raised dots :)

Sometimes ya just gotta go that extra mile for a creation ;) It was well worth the little extra time.

The only thing I didn't do was add a sentiment. I got so excited to take a pic...I completely forgot! I'm not sure I'll even add one now cause it's easy enough to do later. I planned on putting it in the upper right corner of the main image.

Hope ya have time to do the challenge with us. Happy Stamping!

Going Green

You Rock....Sham-Rock that is!

I've had the idea for this card in my head for a while now...and I was gonna post it on St. Patrick's Day...but I can't stand it!! I MUST SHARE NOW! LOL No willpower I tell ya! :)

I had so much fun making this one! I kept thinkin' DUDE...YOU ROCK! ha ha ha. I inked up the words on the "you rock!" stamp separately so I could write "sham" in there. Slicker than slick! OH!! OH!! I gotta tell ya about A Muse simple stick. See those little shamrocks - that's green glitter heat set with simple stick. I stamped the shamrocks with green pigment ink...sprinkled simple stick all over them...heat set till just till it got glossy...sprinkled that wonderful green glitter all over...hit it with the heat gun a 2nd time...and BAMM! Perfectly embossed glittered shamrocks. And ohhhh does it bling!

Speakin' of bling...check out that rocker dudes hair! A green glitter pen gave him that Sham-Rock shine :) He's also pickin' some glitter guitar strings. Rock On Dude!

I have another cool idea for a St. Patty's Day card...so if I have time I'll git-er-done & post it on Tuesday. No promises...but I'll try ;) I'm a busy woman ya know! ha ha ha ha

A Muse Spring Challenge

Spring Stationary

What the heck is "Spring Stationary?!" It's me doing Jennie's "Spring is in the Air" challenge over on the A Muse Lounge. The challenge is to create something inspired by Spring using A Muse or Saltbox Studio stamps. Springy colors, springy stamps, anything that makes you think of Spring.

Sounds easy enough...right...but ya still wonderin' where the "Stationary" part comes in? OK...since I'm SURE you're dying to know....I created my card using a set from A Muse called "Personal Stationary." NO WAY!! A card from that set? Yep...shur-did! That set is 'da bomb diggity!! It has so many cool little things on it! There are 28 stamps packed in there! You can do all sorts of fun things with it. Check it out here & see! It's one of those HTH sets 4sure!

Now I'm gonna tell ya all about my Springy Stationary card :)

All the ingredients for this card are totally Spring! The base cardstock is called Kitchen Grass. The orange cardstock is called Bumble Bee. The green ink is called Meadow. The orange ink is called Marigold. How's THAT for Springy ;) Springy colors AND Springy words...that little flower reminds me of tiny little Spring flowers blooming.

Of course I HAD to add glitter for some Spring bling -- and a wonderful little piece of Spring green stitched ribbon. The Threading Water scalloped punch fits right in there with the theme...cause flowers have to have water -- right :)

Wellllll...I likey...you likey?

Recipe:
Stamps - A Muse Artstamps Personal Stationary Clear Set
Paper - A Muse Kitchen Grass CS; White CS; Bazzill Bumble Bee CS
Ink - A Muse Black Dye Ink; Tsukineko Versacolor Marigold; Ranger Adirondack Earthtones Meadow
Misc. - Green stitched ribbon from stash; Ultrafine Crystal Glitter; Sakura Quickie Glue Pen; Fiskars Threading Water Border Punch; Dimensionals; Sanding Block

House Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge

One for the Men

Happy Monday all you House Mouse Lovers!! It's time for your Monday Morning Kick Start! LOL. Some of you are gonna FREAK OUT when you see the challenge for this week. I know I did! Ready? Brace yourself...

This weeks challenge is to make something for a man. AAAACCCCKKKK!!!!!! Stamp something for a GUY?! Yep...that's right...a man...not a "boy"...a MAN! Crazy...I know...but ya gotta do what ya gotta do...right?! Make anything you want...but it must have at least 1 HM or Friends image on it. For all the challenge details and to see the great "Man" creations by the Design Team - click HERE.

One thing to remember about "guy" cards is to keep it pretty simple. And I would guess that most guys could care less about bling, sparkles, ribbons & layers. (But I got a little sparkle for the pic by tossing some silver stars around the card! hee hee hee) I can't stand the thought of putting a bunch of time into a hand-stamped masterpiece...only to have a guy open the card and never notice the work involved..then a couple days later toss it in the trash! *GASP!* So here's my Clean & Simple "Man" card:

A guy might not even notice that CUTE little mouse dancing on top of the star!! But I think sweet little Monica looks totally adorable up there! I stamped her, gave her a quick coloring, cut her out & glued her right to the cardbase. My Mouse Prints background stamp came in handy for this card. I punched out stars across the green strip...and backed it with black cs. EASY CHEESY! The star is a die-cut piece I had laying around in my scraps. Sentiment is from an AWESOME guy set from A Muse called Mainly Men. This set is a MUST HAVE cause it's great for any "guy" card!

Sooooo....are you gonna go make a man card or what?! LOL!! Keep it simple --and have fun!

NEW STAMPS!

Spring It On with new A Muse Stamps

I love how A Muse came up with "Spring It On
" for the release of the Spring stamps. **BIG grin** I've been having a great time designing cards for classes...but this one I just made up for fun.

I think my picture could have been a little better...but this was taken at night. Oh well...I'll get over it! ha ha ha! I used 3 new A Muse Spring stamps - Swing Girl, Mini Flower & The skys the limit. The fence is a stamp for a Saltbox Studio set called Fences. In the middle of each flower I attached Twinkle Stickers....cause you ain't got a thing if you ain't got the bling! LOL :)

I used some really cool stuff on the tree and grass called Speckles. It's by Judi Kins -- and get this -- it's called Spring Meadows! Git-er-done!! I colored the main image with Copics...and the fence with a colored pencil. Oops! I just looked at the clock!! aack....gotta run....I have a dental appointment! LATER!

House Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge

Huggable
Wow! Here it's Monday AGAIN...and I just noticed I haven't posted anything since last Monday. Ya think maybe I've been busy?? Yup! LOL And I'm STILL busy....but...not so busy I can't post my HM card today ;) So here goes...

House Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge #27 - Chipboard
Today's challenge is to use chipboard on your project. You can make what ever you like as long as you use some sort of chipboard on it & at least 1 HM or Friends stamp. SUPER simple! And..there is a prize up for grabs this week :) You're gonna LOVE IT! For all the challenge details, prize info. and to see the great creations by the Design Team - click HERE.

Can ya find the chipboard on my card? hee hee hee

Isn't that HappyHopper ADORABLE! It's called Blankey. The layout is this weeks Card Sketch designed by Chris Ross from Page Plans. I LOVE card sketches.

If you haven't figured out yet where I used chipboard...it's the little piece that has the word huggable on it. It's a Chipboard Accent Sticker from Cloud9 Design. I added a little Swarvoski Crystal on top of it :) I did a bunch of sanding on the papers to expose the white core. I just love that look...kinda shabby chic looking don't ya think. Those paper flowers were pink...but I wanted them darker to match the paper...so I colored them with a Copic marker. WAY COOL. OH...and get this!!!...I actually used my paper tearing ruler!! Can you believe that! LOL. I should have titled my post "Tool Time" - cause I used all sorts of tools on this card. yeah baby!

I hope you have a chance to create something fun this week.
