Did Someone Say Tree?

I got my tree finished!

Funny story. A couple weeks back when it was raining "Baby Showers" (LOL - ok...that was totally corny!) my daughter and I saw a couple CUTE paper topiary trees at our local scrapbook store.

We thought we would make a couple for baby shower decorations -- but that didn't happen. You know....we just ran out of time :) Anyhow...I started one for myself a couple weeks ago and of course had NO CLUE that this idea was going to be coming up on SplitcoastStampers as a tutorial!! So what's so funny about that?? Hummm....well....it was funny to me that it seems just when you think you are the only one with a idea of doing something all the sudden you see lots of other people doing it too. You know what I mean.....like how you don't notice all the pregnant people are around you until YOU are pregnant! And I thought I was going to have this totally cute project to share with everyone and maybe a few for Christmas gifts. Now everyone is making them! Oh well.....

Here's the link to the SCS Tutorial Paper Trees.

Here's my Paper Topiary Tree creation.

The ready-to-finish topiary came from JoAnn's. I went shopping in my backyard shed and found the pot. The paper strips are 1/2" x 2" in 2 different shades of green Bazzill CS. I folded the strips over a pencil so they were more rounded instead of folded with a crease. Strait pins used to attach to ball. I painted the pot and saucer with acrylic paint and sprayed with a matte sealer. The bottom saucer is hot glued to the pot.

I'm thinking about doing a Christmas version too.

Dads are the best!

Happy Birthday Dad!

Monday was my dads birthday. Here's the card I made for him.

It's been about 2 years since we have seen each other. These pics were taken then. I sure miss him!
I LOVE YOU DAD!!!

It's DONE!

More Shower Pics

I'm done with making all the shower "stuff" and can move on to some other colors :) Maybe something green, red, black or blue? LOL

Here are some pics of baby shower #2 "stuff" - Don't forget you can click on the pic to see it bigger for more detail.

I put Fun Flock on the teddy bears nose to make it fuzzy.

Now that's a bunch of babies! Each cradle had a little bag of sweet treats.

Of course there were a few diaper bag's to give away as prizes.

My daughter Alisha made the "GIRL" and "BABY" signs.

And here is Shannon -- the new mommy-t0-be :)

Baby Shower - Round 2

A Work In Progress

Here I go again...with more baby shower favors. For the last couple days I have been working on more baby cradles. This time it's for my niece and her colors are pink & brown. She is due the same month as my daughter AND having a girl too.

So here is what it looks like in my craft room at the moment:

These adorable cradles are time consuming...but worth every minute spent on them. This time I decided to stamp on the inside "a little something just for you" with StampinUp Close to Cocoa classic ink. This stamp is from a retired StampinUp set called Pocket Fun. The main part of the cradle and hood is stamped using StampinUp Pretty In Pink classic ink and the Canvas Background stamp. Both sides of the white cardstock are stamped. The edges I used - as always - Colorbox Chalk Chestnut Roan. The other part of the hood is stamped in dots with StampinUp Close to Cocoa and edged inked with Chestnut Roan. I'm using Platinum Stickles on the rocker fronts to make the dots.

Well.....I guess I better get back to working on these -- the shower is this Saturday :)

Go Go Go

This was an action packed day!

Saturday was full of excitement. It actually started by going to bed about 2 a.m. {yawn} Then....I helped set up for the Fall Festival at Michaela's school in the morning. Next we rushed home and cleaned up to go back and have fun at the Festival. THEN....we rushed home and changed for the Baby Shower....stopped and picked up the cake....dashed over to my daughters to help with the last minute things (well....about an hours worth actually)....and then the Baby Shower....and then the clean up....and then home about 10:30 to CRASH! Whew!! Did that make you tired just reading it? To sum it up -- "NON-STOP!"

So....how about a few pics to show off all the fun we had! Click on the pic to see it bigger :)

Comments???

A Little Change -- FYI

You ever had comments left on your blog that are totally unrelated to what your blog is about -- like an advertisement or something -- maybe a SPAM kind of thing?? Well....I did and I don't like it! And I can't find any way to delete the comment other than deleting my post.

Soooooo......I changed the preference on my blog comments so they will need my approval before they are posted. It's an extra couple steps for me -- but I don't want junk on my blog - and I'm sure nobody else wants to read it!

Tag.....You're It!

Somebody Got Me...

I've been tagged by Chat from Me, My Stamps and I (aka nightstamper on SCS). Check out her blog and gallery on SCS --- AWESOME!!

How this game works: The tag game is to list 7 random/weird facts about myself. Then I tag 7 other people and let them know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

I was tagged for this before....so click here if you are interested in those 7 random things. Here are 7 new ones:

1.) I am a SU Demonstrator AND a Gold Canyon Candle Demonstrator - which is why my blog name is Stamp Scents. Was that random??

2.) I taught computer classes to adults -- now that was challenging!

3.) I use 2 packs of Splenda AND SugarFree Low Carb Hazelnut Creamer in my coffee.

4.) I say "git-er-done" all the time.

5.) I don't care how the tube of toothpaste is squeezed.

6.) When I was a kid we raked the shag carpet in our house.

7.) I live in Arizona and use a heating blanket on my bed in the winter. Anything under 70 degrees is cold!

Ok.....I'm really busy for the next couple weeks....so instead of me searching for new bloggers that have not been tagged yet....how about taking a look at the bloggers I have listed down the left side of my page under "Bloggers Around the World." Some awesome crafters with tons of great projects, ideas and random/wierd stuff! LOL! I'm sure most of them have already been tagged. Hope that's ok with the "Tag Game Police" *wink* Have fun looking :)
