December 2016 Calendar Page

Hello friends. I've been away from blogging for almost the entire month of December. And now we are 1 week into January of 2017. MAN does time fly. I hope you are all doing well and had a nice holiday.

Here's my last calendar page for my 2016 Calendar Project. I hope I've inspired you to make your own calendar for 2017.

I diecut the Snowflake Trio dies from the Crafter's Companion - Sara Davies Signature Collection - Festive Wonder using a Stick-It adhesive sheet (no paper...just the adhesive). Then I carefully removed 1 side of the release paper from the die-cuts and placed on the page. Before removing the top release paper, I lightly sponged blue ink around the snowflakes. After removing the top release paper to expose the sticky adhesive, I covered the snowflakes with crystal microfine glitter. Oh MAN is it ever sparkly.

The little house (which I'm sure on the inside was decorated beautifully for Christmas 😉) and trees are pieces that I snipped off of the Scenic Borders Die Set from Crafter's Companion Contemporary Christmas Collection. I also added some white snow "dots" using a white gel pen, and a few light blue rhinestone gems. I just love how clean, cool and simple this page turned out.

Winter Snowflakes

Yep...it's December! How'd that happen? HA! I'm still crankin' out the Winter and Christmas crafty projects. Here's a card I was inspired to make while crafting with my friend Karolyn Loncon. Check out her stunning card design HERE. (thanks dude!)

I used the New Signature Collection by Sara - Festive Wonder Snowflake Trio Die set and the 6"x6" Paper Pad. The sentiment is from Sheena - A Little Bit Festive - Christmas Visitors Stamp Set, and I heat embossed on vellum. I added red rhinestone stickers in the centers of each snowflake, then added Stickles glitter glue and sprinkled crystal glitter on top. I didn't have any die's to cut out the frame from the patterned paper, so just used a craft knife with a ruler. This design is amazing! You could change it up for any occasion. Stars, balloons, hearts etc.

Signature Collection by Sara Davies - Festive Wonder

It's RELEASE DAY!

The NEW Signature Collection by Sara Davies - Festive Wonder series is NOW available at Crafter's Companion USA!

Here a card I made using the new products:

I was beyond thrilled that Designer Paper Pads were part of this new collection. There's a 6"x6" and a 12"x12". Yesterday I posted a sneak peek card using paper from the 12" pad. On today's card, I used the 6" paper pad, which has the same pattern as the 12" pad -- just scaled down in size. Perfect for cards!

I die-cut and embossed the new Snowy Border Die from Shimmering Cardstock. The 3 single snowflakes are also diecut from the Shimmering Cardstock. 2 of the snowflakes are pieces from the border die, and the larger one is from the Snowflake Trio Die set.

One of my favorite tricks to do with delicate dies, such as this Merry Christmas die, is to cut multiple layer and glue them stacked together. This adds dimension and stability. I glued it directly onto the card front.

I just love how clean and simple this design turned out...yet elegant.

Sneak Peek Time!

Hello my crafty friends! I survived yet another figure skating competition. My daughter skated her programs wonderfully - bringing home 2 metals. She placed 4th in one of her solo programs and 3rd in the group production program. YAY! I've posted a bunch of pics on facebook HERE.

Now let's get to the crafty stuff. This week, over at Crafter's Companion USA, we are celebrating the 10th Birthday of our sister company in the UK. Loads of stuff going on all week. Sneaks peeks have already started for the NEW Festive Wonder range, part of the Sara Davies Signature Collection. The launch is TOMORROW (Nov. 10th)!

I made this card using a few of the new goodies. 



You can see in the closeup how beautifully diecut and embossed the new Merry Christmas and Snowflake Trio dies turned out using Shimmering Cardstocks. The dotted/blue paper is from the new 12"x12" Paper Pad. I also used the new 6"x6" Festive Frame Embossing Folder.
