Christmas Blessings

I'm back today to share a card I made using a new Crafter's Companion Classique Christmas Only Words die. Most of my Christmas cards end up with the classic "red & green" color combo. It's just easy to grab those colors and create. For this card, I did use greens, but I went with some shades of mauve instead of the reds. It really has an elegant feel to it with these colors.

The Christmas Blessings die was die-cut and embossed using Watercolor Cardstock. I left the cardstock in the die, and then used Spectrum Aqua Markers (Bud Green, Moss and Red Violet) and a watercolor brush to paint through the stencil of the die. Turned out absolutely beautiful!

I adhered the diecut to a Scalloped Oval which was diecut and embossed using the new Forest Green Shimmering Cardstock. That is popped up on top of a mauve panel that was embossed using a Sheena Festive 5x7 Embossing Folder - Winter Robin.

I love the details that came through after sanding off the embossed white-core cardstock. I added VersaMark Embossing Ink on the embossed areas - plus around the edges of the panel - then heat embossed with  Ranger Holographic Embossing Powder. Absolutely beautiful in real life.That panel is also layered on Forest Green Shimmering Cardstock.

To make the holly leaf and berry embellishment in the lower corner, I embossed a scrap of watercolor cardstock on a section of the Winter Robin Embossing Folder. I watercolored using Spectrum Aqua Markers and then trimmed out.

The white card base was embossed using the Textures 8x8 Wood Grain Embossing Folder. Everything is mat on the Die'sire Elegance Stamping Frame Die, which was die-cut and embossed from Green Envy Shimmering Cardstock. I added sequins on the berries and a tiny rhinestone on the birds eye.
