A Christmas Story

I have a special sneak peek today of one of the NEW Bebunni Christmas sets being released July 2nd over at Crafter's Companion USA. Those of you who shop Crafter's Companion UK -- they are available now. These new images are ALL sooooo CUTE!

This set is called Christmas Story.  I just love those big fluffy ears! I haven't made an easel card in a long time...so I decided to design my card around that. It worked perfectly to keep my design clean and simple -- allowing the image takes center stage.

 

On the closeup picture, you can see how I added glitter to the hat and around the candle. If you look closer...or click the picture to zoom in more...you can see I added glaze pen on the candle drips and the bunny nose :) Cuteness overload!!!!

 

 

Here's a closer look at the inside panel. How PERFECT is that sentiment!?! It's on this new set too! It fit perfectly in the diecut frame. Check out that cardstock....it's text from a Christmas story!!

I colored the image with Spectrum Noir Markers . After the bunny ears and ground were colored, I added texture by lightly tapping down on top of the coloring with a little piece of towel that I put some rubbing alcohol on.

 

I used a few Spectrum Noir Blendable Colored Pencils to shade the background around the image. Using Blending Solution and Paper Stumps really blends it all together and makes it smooth. This is my favorite technique for background shading. The last thing I did was add a few thin lines on the book pages with a colored pencil. You just can't get a fine light line like that with the markers. And THAT my friends...is why I totally recommend having both markers AND pencils. The best of both worlds.
