Poppies For You

Happy Friday! Have you checked out the April Crafter's Companion Challenge? Well...grab some flowers...cause the theme this month is Floral!  Perfect for Spring!

Things have changed a bit on how to enter our monthly challenge. It's now easier! YAY! Click HERE to read about all the changes. Click HERE to go directly to the monthly challenge entry form. Also, at the top of both the USA and UK Facebook Pages, where the Twitter and Pinterest feeds are, there's a tab that says 'Monthly Challenge'. You can click on that to enter as well.

The stamps I used to design my card are from the Poppies and Daisies stamp set. This is another beautiful set that's part of Sheena's A Little Bit Sketchy collection from Crafter's Companion.

The images are stamped on Spectrum Noir Ultrasmooth Premium White Cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I colored with Spectrum Noir Markers.

I stamped the flowers again on another small piece of cardstock...colored & trimmed out a few of the pieces. I glued down the bottom edges on top of the flowers and let dry. Then I stuck a 3d foam dot under the upper portion to lift the piece up. Turned out just as I planned!

To give the flowers shimmer, I painted on some Sheer Shimmer Spritz - Sparkle. I LOVE THAT STUFF! And it's only a couple bucks for the bottle! I just squirt some on my craft mat and paint it on with a paint brush.

You might know this little trick already...but just in case someone out there doesn't...I'll share.  I wanted a thin strip of red colored cardstock to layer on the side of my image panel. I wanted it to match the colors of my flowers...so I took a strip of white cardstock and colored with CR8 and OR2 to match the poppies. Spectrum Noir Markers blend beautiful and you can make any color you need! Clever...right?! This is a great way to use up some scrap pieces of cardstock that would probably end up in the trash.

I mounted the entire panel with 3d foam adhesive to a white card base that was embossed with the 6" x 6" Chevrons Embossalicious Embossing Folder. The final touch was orange sequins.

Clean, Simple, Classic. Ahhhh...floral goodness.

Spectrum Noir Markers: LV1, GB3, OR2, CR8, EB4, CG1, CG2, DG3, JG6

I hope you take time out this month to join us for the challenge.
