Life's sweetest things

Hey there friends!

Father's Day is almost here....and it's time to get busy makin' those special "guy" cards. Don't you just love making cards for the boys??
House-Mouse Monday Challenge #146 - Father's Day/Male Cards
Create a card using at least one House-Mouse, Happy Hopper or Gruffies image and follow the challenge theme. Go check out the great samples all the designers have come up with....and get all the challenge details on the blog HERE.

I know my dad would LOOOOVE to have a great big donut and a good cuppa joe for Father's Day.  This is the perfect image! It's called Donut Bliss. The coffee cup image is from A Muse.

I stamped the image on watercolor paper and embossed. To color, I used a combination of watercolor crayons and distress markers. Then I sponged Black Soot Distress Ink around the panel.

It's sooooo not cool to add all the yummy glitters and rhinestones on a "guy card" to get my "bling fix" I covered the entire panel with Clear Rock Candy Distress Paint.
It worked out awesome and looks amazing!! Hey...if I can't have bling...the shiny stuff works for me. I distressed the edges after it was completely dry.

The metal "Father" tag is finished off with a piece of waxed twine...for that "man" look. All those dots down the sides....those are Paper Candi Chips from Craftwork Cards.  MUST HAVE item in my stash.
Well...that's it for today. I hope you have a chance to do a little crafting this week. Maybe even play along with us and make a guy card.

See you soon!

Gloss is bling and one never can get enough bling. My husband is always telling me to add more bling to my cards, so I think men love the sparkle too! Love the paper candy too. Reminds me of the upholstery nails - very masculine!

Lori, cute guy card. A donut and coffee is like a full meal to a guy, hee hee. Love the look of the rock candy paint and you captured it with the camera, nice!
