Father's Day 2010

Last week we drove to Oregon. I got to be with my dad on Father's Day for the first time in over 30 years.
Can you believe I left my camera at HOME!!! Thankfully my daughter remembered hers...so I was able to take some pictures. They aren't the best...I just couldn't get the settings right...but they are better than nuttin' at all.



Now I'm home and SUPER CRAZY BUSY getting ready for A*Muse*A*Palooza. FUN STUFF!!!

House Mouse & Friends Challenge #72 - Something NEW
Christine came up with the idea for this challenge. Any creation/card to celebrate something NEW House/Job/Baby etc. Just make sure to use at least 1 House Mouse, Happy Hopper or Gruffie on your creation. My card is for a New Baby. I designed my card from a Go-To Sketch layout by Mauren -- one of Paper Crafts Go-To Gals. It's on page 44 of the Paper Crafts Go-To Sketches Magazine. If you don't have this magazine...you NEED to go get one. 66 Sketches and TONS of samples that will knock your socks off!!


Happy Hoppers are so cute. This one is called Baby Itty Bit. I colored it with Prismacolor Pencils & Gamsol. "BABY" is spelled out of stickers from Creative Imaginations alpha sticker sheet. Been saving that for some SPECIAL project...and I guess this was the one! LOL! DP and buttons from American Crafts. I just picked up the new EK Success Zig Zag punch. That punch is awesome! I'll be using it a bunch.

You can see in the closeup how I added Baby's Breath Art Glitter to the top of the bottle. I also put glitter around the edge of the oval. Isn't this image sooooo cute!

Each candy is topped with glitter. I also colored over all the letters and the fronts of the candy wrappers with Spica Glitter Pen. All coloring is done with Prismacolor Pencils & Gamsol.

Solid Zinnia is stamped in blue and then I colored over it with a bright green Copic Marker. Add glitter...trim out...attach bow...pop up on foam tape...DONE!
