House Mouse & Friends Challenge Time!
Today's House Mouse challenge was my idea Flower Power
I really have a hard time using flowers on cards for some reason. I love 'em...but just don't think they look right when I stick 'em on there. So when it was my turn to come up with a challenge for the design team...I picked something that was challenging for me. I'm not talkin' about stamped flowers...I'm talkin' about embellishments. Go check out all the wonderful cards the design team came up with HERE. There's also a prize this week!!!
I busted out a pack of flowers...one of those packs I HAD TO HAVE...but never used. (yeah...one of many!)
I also used Flower Soft. Yep...in my book....that counts too. :) Has the word flower in it...so it works. See all the pearls in the middle of the flowers...those are Lime Green Pretty Pearls. A Muse Artstamps sells 'em....and a bunch of other wonderful colors too.
Twinkle Toes is one of my fav HM images. I stamped her on Naturals Ivory cardstock and colored with Prismacolor Pencils & Gamsol. Her tutu is covered with glitter and topped off with tiny pink pearls.
The card base is stamped with a definitions background using Tim Holtz Spun Sugar Distress Ink - then embossed with Ranger Antiquities Frosted Crystal. The cool thing about this embossing powder is that it has a sort of tacky texture...so after heat setting I dusted Macro Pearl Pearl Ex powder all over. Sticks right to it....and looks amazing!
Hope you can join us for the Flower Power challenge. Don't forget to use at least 1 House Mouse or Friends image on your project. It doesn't have to be a card...it can be anything. And just because I didn't use stamped flowers...that doesn't mean they are not allowed. Anything flower goes...anything! Have fun :)

WOW!!! Lori I smiled from ear to ear when I saw your FLOWER card. What a precious girly design. Dont ever say you and flowers dont get along because this seriously proves otherwise woman!! Glad you got to use those stashed away "you had to have items". :) I do that too! LOL! I love this card!!! And your coloring is always perfection/amazing!!!!!!!!!
p.s. LOL about the snakefood rescue!
I was checking out your blog for the first time and saw the cards you made in March with Glitter Ritz. You are right, the glitter is just fabulous. The microfine glitter in comparison to ultrafine glitter is like velvet. Now, there are new colours and there is also a ultrafine transparent glitter that looks great over patterned paper. I also love using the cool highlights and warm highlights transparent glitter which also comes in microfine as well as ultrafine glitter. Glitter Ritz is the only company I know which has the microfine glitters which come in endless colours.
Aren't you just a bouquet of fun!!! Cute card, lovin' the tutu!
Lori,
I have been looking all over for my tutu. The pearls are all the glitz now. Cute, cute card.

Absolutely fabulous Lori, that background is sensational and your flowers are stunning (who can't work with flowers?). Love that gorgeous image, especially her pearl belt - all so pretty.
