Somebody Feed Me!

Stamping Food

I told my DH (darling husband) the other day I needed to focus on getting some baby shower stuff finished. I was determined that "this time" I was not going to stay up all night the day before the event to get them done. So...for the past few days Mike cooked so I could focus on crafting. I didn't even ask him to do that...he just did! :) Now THAT'S LIFE right there....sitting in my craft room slaving (ha!) over paper and stamps while smelling something wonderful cooking in the kitchen. It don't get better than that I tell ya!

Mike likes to check out recipes from Dr. Weil. He had his eye on the Spaghetti Squash Casserole so decided to give it a try.

Yummy!!! It was goooooooood!! And it made 2 casserole dishes full so we have another dinner ready to go.

Here's a sneak peek at the baby shower goodies I'm "slaving" over. heeheehee Total FUN! I will take pics at the shower this weekend and post what they look like all finished. The shower is for my daughter Rhianna -- she is due January 22nd. It's a girl -- could ya guess??

I also have 40 more cradles and 6 more diaper bags to make for the following Saturday. Another baby shower for my niece. She is also due in January and having a girl.

I wonder if my sweet wonderful darling caring kind husband will keep cooking for about another week?! LOL

Now That's A Diaper Bag!

Baby Shower favors and gift bags for prizes.

I'm working on ideas for baby shower favors and gift bags for prizes. This is my first tote from a pattern I got from the Split Coast Stampers Fan Club. Of course I'm a Fan Club Member.....aren't you? What!? You haven't joined yet? Well well well......you gotta join if you want "Leigh's Totally Tote" pattern and lots more goodies too!

For more info on the fan club go to www.splitcoaststampers.com

Here's a couple pics to give a better visual of the size.

I stuck a mini lotion from Victoria's Secrets in the bag for another visual of the size.

The teddy bear was an afterthought and not sure yet if it will be stuck in there or not. The bottle isn't attached --- it pulls out of the pocket. I'm thinking the back of the bottle will be a good place to write a message? Both the bear and bottle are Sizzix Sizzlets dies. The pocket I made from a Tag Punch from Marvy Uchida - and I just folded over the top. Pink paper is from Making Memories & Cardstock from SU & Bazzill. Diaper Pin and baby tag stamps from StampinUP and stamped with SU Close to Cocoa Craft ink- then sprinkled with Heat & Stick power and embossed - then sprinkled with ultra fine white glitter and heat set. It's really hard to see the sparkles in pics...but they sparkle :) The stitching is done with SU Close to Cocoa Classic using a stitches stamp from CTMH. I used Chestnut Roan Colorbox Chalk ink around pretty much all the edges. I use Chestnut Roan for like everything! Making this tote was SO MUCH FUN!! These will have gifts in them for prizes at the baby shower.

THEN.....I had to make another little baby item. And of course the pattern is from SCS Fan Club - "MelMel's Baby Cradle"

These are made with the Canvas Background from StampinUP! stamped on white cardstock. I also used Chestnut Roan on the edges. One piece of the hood has a piece of white stamped with dots and punched out with a handpunch. That piece is actually a punched out scalloped oval cut in half from the Marvy Uchida hand punches.

The cradle actually rocks back and forth and the hood moves too! This is going to have candy put inside. I was going to wait till I could get a pic with the candy in them....but I couldn't wait that long to show off :) I'll post again showing pics from the shower.

My first Criss Cross Card

60 is better than 1!

One of the many things I've been doing this past week is making baby shower invitations. I got the idea for this card from Amanda. Check out Amanda's card HERE -- it's awesome! Click HERE for a wonderful Criss Cross Card Tutorial by Beate Johns on SCS. These are super easy to make and are tooooo cute!

My first Criss Cross Card isn't just 1 card.....it's 60 of them! :) Fun Fun Fun!!

I noticed after taking the pic above that the insert for the card wasn't in perfectly straight for the Kodak Moment! Oops! The pic below is the insert pulled out slightly so you can see it a little better.

The envelopes I ran through the printer for the return address. I set the text RGB color for the invitations and envelopes to match StampinUP Chocolate Chip Ink. Check out Marni's Blog StampMonkeys for all the codes to match SU Colors. Can you see the prego mom I stamped? Click on the pic to see it bigger and closer. Totally cute!! It's a stamp from MissyB Designs. I stamped it with Tsukineko VersaMagic Pixie Dust. "You're invited" and "Welcome Little One" are stamped using SU Chocolate Chip Classic.

Here's the rest of my "secrets" for the card :)

Paper: American Crafts -Baby Gretel (Dots) and Little Lamb (Stripes); White, Brown and Pink Cardstock from Bazzill

Ribbon: American Crafts - Baby; Unknown for the Pink stuff

Stamps: StampinUP! - Riveting (Welcome Little One); CTMH - Simple Invites (You're invited)

Punches: StampinUP! - Scalloped Circle, 1 3/8" Circle, 1 1/4" Circle

Inks: StampinUP! - Classic Chocolate Chip; Tsukineko VersaMagic - Pixi Dust

I used Dimensionals to pop-up the brown circle from the scalloped circle and again for the Welcome Little One circle up off the brown circle. I didn't wrap the brown and white bands all the way round. They are 5 1/2" strips - brown is 1" and white is 3/4".

I had to hold myself back from using brads & other girlie sparkly stuff cause these are being mailed. Who knows what that would have done for the postage!

Wild West Boo

I LOVE my new Alphabet Stamp Set!

I just got this new Alphabet set from Stampin' UP! It's called Wild West Alphabet. I couldn't wait to use it. Check out the Halloween card I made. Whatcha think? You like?

I used another new stamp set on this card - the Spider and Web I got from Inkadinkado. The patterned paper is called Gone Wild Mini Stripe from Bo-Bunny Press. The rest of the paper is SU. I stamped the BOO tag with SU White Craft Ink. Spiders stamped with Black Craft Ink and embossed with clear. I also stamped a few spiders on the patterned paper and embossed them as well. Photo corners punched from the new SU Photo Corners punch and paper pierced. The card base is 6" x 3 1/4". All the other details I'm sure you papercrafters can figure out just by looking at the picture. Inside the card I stamped Happy Halloween and a couple more spiders :)

This new alphabet set is so versatile. Don't let the name "Wild West" fool ya! Now you gotta have it too -- RIGHT! "Git-er-done" ha ha ha ha ha

Got Pictures?

Is it time to clean up my computer?

I was looking at all the pics I have on my computer thinking I really should get them saved on a disk. Does anyone else have this same problem? I have like over 9,000 pictures!! Not all of them are on the computer.....but.....at least 1/2 of them! So somewhere in my busy day I really need to save them before I have a computer crash or something!

Looking through the pictures I was thinking I could make some great scrapbook pages. I have never made a scrapbook page before. I always get stuck on some cute card layout or some other fun papercrafting project. I have bought tons of paper with certain pictures in mind that would make a great scrapbook page. Anyone else do this? LOL! Gotta love it!

Well...I guess I could post a few of my thousands of pictures and then I can say I have done "something" with them :)

Alisha my oldest daughter and her family
Jimmy, Kayla, James and Haylie

Sabrina my 2nd daughter and her family
Chris, Nicholas, Alexa, Brendon & Kylee

Rhianna my 3rd daughter and Robie
soon to be mommy & daddy

My son RJ is 17

My youngest daughter Michaela is 6

Of course family pets!
Jewel the Chocolate Lab is ours.
Jewel the Golden Retriever is a friend :)
Goldie the Rat and Candy the Bird

And just a few random pics for fun :)

My 1st set of swaps!!

Awesome Cards - Awesome Stampers!

I got my cards from the Holiday Card Swap I did with Corie at Creations by Corie. WOW!!! Totally CUTE cards! All these other cards make mine look so plain. I thought my card was pretty cute until I saw all the other ones. Want to see?? Click here to see a slidshow of the cards from all 3 groups. My picture here certainly doesn't show off their beauty -- they look SO MUCH CUTER in real life! I will for sure do a swap again!

Anyone miss me?

What Have I NOT Been Doing!

I started a new post...but didn't get it finished. So here's a quick post just so I "feel" like I'm not out of touch on my blogging. I've been busy doing just about everything and then some. I'm not sure what all it has been....but it has been. Did that even make sense?! ha! I'm all moved into my craft room! YIPPEE!!! I still have personal touches to make and little things here & there. I LOVE to just sit in here and look around at how great this room has turned out so far! Today Alisha did come over and we played in here for a few hours on her projects. So now my room is officially "used" because baby Haylie spit up several times on the carpet...and little James had fun smooshing a BIG JUICY peach into the carpet as well. hummmm....what's a grandma to do.

Anyhow......maybe I'll get a card made on Card Day! ha!
