Here's a quick and simple card I made for the Our Craft Lounge Zig Zags Challenge last week.

I totally forgot to post this during the challenge.
Oh well...I'm still sharin' it! This card was super fast and full of color! I used a new set from Our Craft Lounge called Every Heartbeat to stamp large zig zag and sentiment on a piece of beautiful designer cardstock from Pebbles Inc. A small paper flower topped with a matching button and silver cording finished it off. OH...and check out the blurred edges on the pic. I'm trying a few new things in Photoshop. Pretty cool!

Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge time!

You know the drill...use the photo above for inspiration to create a NEW project. Follow it closely or use it loosely...just have fun! Use at least one Paper Smooches stamp OR one of Paper Smooches FREE digi images. You can get all the challenge and prize details - plus check out the great DT samples HERE.

I used 5 Paper Smooches sets on my card. Do you know which ones they are? The answer is below in the Recipe. I colored with pencils to create a pattern similar to the inspiration photo. A few pearls and some washi tape finished it off.

My youngest granddaughter just turned 4.

I used 2 sets from Our Craft Lounge. Summer Sweets is really geared for 4th of July...but as you can see...it's PERFECT for a 4th birthday! The For-bitten set has some blood drops that made perfect candle flames.

Smart thinkin' huh?

I also used the 2 heart images from the For-bitten set on the inside of the card.

LOVE that Lemon Drop Yellow and Sugar Crafty Sparkles from OCL. I'm sure Emalie will love it too.

Here's a quick little Valentine Treat I made for this weeks A Muse Studio Love/Valentine's Day Theme Challenge.

These are treats that can easily be mass produced.
1 1/2" x 3" piece of Bubblegum Pink Polka Dot cardstock scored in half and stuck to the top of the 1" x 8" cellophane treat bags. Cut large heart from the Heart Trio Die set with Sugar cardstock and stamp image from Tweet Heart set. Color heart with pink marker. Embellish with Diamond Glitter. Punch a hole for the bakers twine. Attach with 3D foam adhesive.

Don't put away those Christmas stamp sets!!!! The "to: from:" on the back is from the Mini Holiday Messages Stamp Set from the Holiday Catalog.

All of the A Muse Studio Polka Dot Cardstock is being retired...so get it while you can!

Gently Seasoned Smooches

Time to spice things up with another fun Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge!

This pic has so many great details to pull inspiration from. Naturally that BOLD RED WALL with all the big circles JUMPED in my FACE. So I started with a red card base. The white bedside lamp with thin black strips on the top and bottom of the shade landed on my card for the main image panel. It really lights up the room...doesn't it ;) Bold black letters on the white pillows found a place on my card as well. Beautiful gold damask bedding...yep...got that too!

Bold red circles define the tree...and really make a statement. 2 little gold birds add a Gently Seasoned balance to the gold damask bedding. I LOVE my little room :)

It's always a blast to make OLC (One Layer Cards) cards. No need to worry about picking out papers, ribbons, rhinestones etc. -- which sometimes can take me HOURS!

Here's my "Perfectly Flat" creation for day 2 of my Clean & Simple Card Making Class.

I used 2 stamp sets from Our Craft Lounge, 2 Distress ink pads, 1 Tombow Marker and 1/2 sheet of white cardstock.

Clean & Simple Card Making - Day 1

Guess what! Instead of teaching a class...I'm taking one! Best of all...I don't even have to get out of my jammies or do my hair!!! It's on-line!

Clean and Simple Card Making will feature over 25 new card ideas and over 15 instructional videos. It just don't get better than that...right ;) Today is Day 1 and we had some GREAT sketches to follow. It took me less than 30 minutes to get my supplies out and make these 2 cards!

I used my A Muse Studio Mesh Background stamp on Winter Sky solid cardstock with Eucalyptus pigment ink. The card above also uses the Life's a Breeze set. The one below - Sleepy Sighs set and the Heart Trio die.

Now...taking a good picture of my projects...THAT'S a different story! uuugh! I want an "easy button" for taking better pics. Oh well...

Time for another A Muse Studio Embossing "FIX"

This week on the A Muse Studio Challenge Blog we want to see more embossing. But this time you gotta emboss using adhesive tape. Super easy! If you join us you could be the lucky winner of an A Muse Studio Stamp Set!!!! Click HERE to get all the challenge & prize details! Good luck!

I used 1/8" adhesive tape and black embossing powder to create a "string" for my heart to hang from.

You can see in the closeup how nice it looks! I stamped the black heart with A Muse Studio Onyx Pigment ink on white cardstock and then trimmed. Next I layered it on Cranberry cardstock and trimmed. THEN I took my Versamark ink pad and pat it down directly on top of the heart...covered with clear embossing powder and heat it. Matches PERFECT with the embossed tape! GIT-R-DONE!!!

By they way...the heart image is from a set called Heart's O Plenty...and it's being retired. So if you GOTTA have it you better GET IT NOW before it's GONE!

Same thing goes for the Cranberry Cardstock. YEP...it's that time of year when items get retired to make room for the new goodies to come. The background stamp is called Script and is available in the Holiday Catalog. I have no clue what is staying or going from the Holiday catalog....but if you see something in there you like...you might wanna grab it before the catalog expires this month! Just sayin'

I used Martha Stewart Fringe scissors to make the layer look like a blanket. Also, you can't see it in the pic...but behind the sentiment and heart I stamped rabbit feet in a very light shade of pink.

Isn't this Happy Hopper so sweet! The bottle is paper pieced. All coloring done with pencils & gamsol.

The tree and birds are stamped with VersaMark ink RIGHT ON TOP of the A Muse Studio Cherry Sweetheart Designer Cardstock. Cover with black embossing powder then heat it up with the fabulous Milwaukee Heat Tool...and BAM! SHINY PERFECTION!

The greeting is embossed in white embossing powder on a diecut heart. Both hearts are trimmed with A Muse Studio Black Glitter. That glitter is TO.DIE.FOR!

Cool Frosty Fun

Mr. Frosty is one COOL Snowman! He tips his hat to bid farewell to 2011 and say hello to 2012!

I made this card based on this weeks Our Craft Lounge Challenge.

It's our last challenge for the year...and the perfect opportunity to use Mr. Frosty and my White Christmas Set! I stamped snowflakes with white pigment in on a piece of beautiful Echo Park designer cardstock (thanks Kendra!). Snowman is colored with Tombow Markers. I used Stardust Stickles to make all the snow look cool & shiny ...cause the challenge photo looks that way.

I also put the Stickles on the snowflake button.

This totally made me think about "Things to think about for the New Year" But...there's something missing! "BE SILLY" I HAD to add it to the mix!!! :) You know me...gotta be silly!!! The colors look very clean and fresh...but softer and warm...so I went with that feel for my color choices. The perfect stamp set for my project...Perky Plants of course :)

Colored with Copic Markers. Glitter on flower and bee wings. This silly flower really makes me smile!

AWESOME sketch! I used the new OCL Every Heartbeat set along with the Hang it up Cupid set. The grunge look of some of the images match PERFECT with these 2 sets!

I LOVE that Cotton Candy Pink Crafty Sparkles used on the bow! BLING VA VA BLING!! And the Eyeliner Black Sparkly Fluff is perfect for the eye patch. Just a touch of Eyeliner Black Crafty Sparkles to the eyelashes...but it's hard to tell in the pic. Oh...and Pink Copic Spica Glitter Pen on those lips!

SOOO much left to get done on my to-do list....which means I haven't had much time for crafty stuff. BUT...I did manage to squeeze in a SUPER FUN & EASY project for today's A Muse Studio Challenge. I just LOVE the vintage images on the AMuse Studio Stamp set called A Christmas Carol. I also used another set called Snow Crystals. The snowflake border on the the Eucalyptus cardstock is stamped with A Muse Sugar Pigment ink. Snowflakes on the main image are stamped with Eucalyptus Pigment ink -- but I first stamped off 1 time to lighten them up a bit. Did you notice the fun Twas the Night cardstock? FUN STUFF!

LOTS of Diamond Glitter accents to make things snow sparkly :)

When commenting on projects, I seem to say "I LOVE IT!" all the time! Like ALL THE TIME! ha! But I really mean it...and I'm gonna continue saying it...so I guess you are gonna continue reading it.

Here's my tag. I LOVE IT!

This would be soooo CUTE in blue or pink for baby's first Christmas. Or on a scrapbook page or a card! Hang it on your Christmas tree, on a gift bag etc. Super easy to make!

The A Muse Studio Mini Alphabet set is perfect for personalizing cards and other smaller projects. Upper case, lower case and numbers all in 1 set! I stamped on Wasabi cardstock then sanded off the edges. The top of the mitten is diecut from Vanilla Felt - adhered with double-sided sticky tape.

A Muse has a wonderful fine grind Silver Glitter..and it really sparkles bright! Glitter is party of my daily diet ;) To cover the snowflake, I spread glue on the die cut snowflake and added glitter. 1 1/2" circle punch worked perfect for the photo!

YEAH BABY...I LOVE IT!!!

That little deer is one of my favorites...and that snowflake is SO original! I love all the little spots that can have glitter or bling added. Like it was MADE for that! It also looks like a flower in the center...so you could totally color it in for even more fun! Soooooo glad I have my set already.

This weeks challenge over on the Craft Lounge blog is Tags.

Since Christmas is just a couple weeks away, tags will come in handy. Even if you don't need any tags...it's just FUN to make them! I HAD A BLAST :) Check it out...

I used 3 sets from OCL - Reindeer Kisses, White Christmas and Merry Wishes

If you click the pictures you can zoom in on the details. The tree is embossed with distress powder. Then I sponged on green ink. Next I added Rock Candy Stickles. If you look close you can see the thin line of Our Craft Lounge Sparkling Silver Crafty Sparkles Glitter. WOW...a NEW FAVORITE GLITTER for ME!!! It's one you GOTTA see in person to really know how awesome it is! The first time I used it I about fell off my chair!!! YES...IT'S THAT COOL!

Let's not forget about the Sugar Sparkly Fluff on Santa :)

Our challenge for today over on the A Muse Studio Challenge Blog is to make a Winter Holiday or Christmas card.

Our challenge today over on the A Muse Studio Challenge Blog is - Anything But a Card.

These cube boxes are sooooooo easy! Think of all the possibilities!!! You could write names on the tags to make individualized place cards and have a treat inside. Wouldn't they look great hanging on the Christmas Tree!!! Make 25 of them and open 1 each day!!! Or how about as party favors for your guests! SO MANY ideas! The box measures 1 3/4" x 1 3/4"

The box is Kraft Cardstock stamped with Fern Pigment ink. The flower is one of the A Muse Studio Flax Paper Flowers that I trimmed to look like a poinsettia...then colored with Copic Markers. I know...I know...I'M SO SMART!

I used 3 fantastic sets from Our Craft Lounge. Yup...they are FANTASTIC.

Notice the 24K Gold Sparkly Fluff? Awesome! Wouldn't this look beautiful attached to a white gift bag with some holiday treats tucked inside!

The Merry Wishes set has over 20 stamps on it!!!! All sorts of Christmas and Winter Holiday sentiments & a few little images as well! I also used the Happy Holly-Days set...which is where the poinsetta and leaves are from. I KNOW you will LOVE IT TO! On the card base, I stamped an image from the Vintage Swirls set with VersaMark. I don't know what I would do without this set! REALLY!

I'm sooooo lovin' how this little card turned out....ESPECIALLY since it's quick and easy to make! THAT is something to be thankful for! You can change up the colors and the flower image to make it for any occasion!

If you've ever opened a can...then you've seen these:

And of COURSE I have a nice big stash of 'em...JUST for paper crafting!

Which brings me to this weeks A Muse Studio Monday Challenge: Metal Embossing. Anything you have on hand works. Heck...even a gum wrapper that looks like metal will do! Just use your imagination...you'll figure something out. Embossing can be done all sorts of ways. Embossing folders, impression plates, templates or stencils and a stylus, score boards etc. etc. etc. You get the idea. All the challenge details and prize info can be found HERE.

I ran the coffee can seal through my Big Shot with the A Muse Studio Swirls Impression Plate. Next I inked up the raised swirls with VersaMark and then heat embossed with White Embossing Powder. I love how shabby this turned out! The sentiment on the tag is also embossed and embellished with a single red twinkle sticker.

Seriously...this was so easy to make and would be an awesome design for mass producing. Yep...pattin' myself on the back with this one!

The tree and snowballs are from the Snow Place Like Home set....and that ADORABLE deer is from the Reindeer Games set. I just want to stamp and play ALL DAY with these sets!

I used Rockstar Red and Sugar Sparkly Fluff on the scarf, Irish Green Crafty Sparkles on the trees and Sugar Crafty Sparkles on the snow. The nose has dimensional glaze on it.

Michaela won 3rd in her group and received nomination for the skate off. Her program was to Cruella de Vil from 101 Dalmatians.

Kayla won 1st in her group and also received nomination for the skate off. Her program was to Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland.

Here's the mess I came up with...

I used 4 different OCL sets to create my card. How's THAT for miss-matchy!

Actually...they matchy pretty darn good if I do say so myself :) It's great when you can combine several stamp sets and they all work together.

I added just a touch of 24K Gold Crafty Sparkles on the gifts and ticket. The Santa hat on the sentiment is accented with Sugar Sparkly Fluff. I also used some gold metallic ink to paint & sponge different areas of the card to "mess it up" even more.

I'd stress like this anytime! LOL!

Here's the design I came up with for today's A Muse Studio Blog Challenge - Dry Embossing.

I used the new A Muse Studio Web/Swirls Impression Plate on Onyx cardstock...then sanded off to expose the white paper core. I LOVE the punched out eyes! This card is seriously quick and easy...but has SO MUCH character to it!

Drew lines to each skull with Copic Multiliner Pen. SPOOKY COOL! Then finished off with a strip of Washi Tape from the winter assortment.

Here's a fun card I made for this weeks A Muse Studio Challenge Blog.

The challenge is to use the colors French Roast and Bubblegum. Remember...you don't have to use A Muse Studio products to join the fun!

I used one of my new stamp sets - called Holiday Tags. SUPER fun images - 10 in all....AND...11 sentiment stamps!! The faux stitching is a stamp from the Mad for Plaids set. I swear I could NOT live without that set!

Yep...glitter on the card :) What a fun challenge!

Not Your Grandma's Bag of Buttons - Use at least 1 button on a project.

I love clean & simple designs. All the buttons are attached on one long piece of twine and then stuck down and tied the ends together. I used 3 different colors of A Muse Buttons - Pumpkin, Buttercup and Grass - along with the NEW Spooky Boo Day set.

The little owl is popped up on foam tape and covered with clear glaze.

Arizona Christmas Cactus

I made this for the contest going on over at Hero Arts - make a card using non-holiday stamps

The cactus and sentiment are from a Hero Arts set called Howdy. I stamped the cactus and colored with Koh-I-Noor pencils.The added some Prisma Glitter. Buttons and twine finish it off. Clean & Simple...just the way I like 'em.

DIY Designer Background Paper

Don't have any cool background paper or background stamps?
No problem! You can use ANY stamps you have to make designer background paper.

I stamped the large marigold from the A Muse Studio Marvelous Marigolds set with Cranberry ink - then colored with Koh-I-Noor Pencils. Little dots of white are done with Signo White Gel Pen.

Then....the icing on the cake...I sprayed the entire piece with Stardust Finishing Spray. That stuff is the BEST! I could totally spray everything with it!!

The butterfly is from the A|S set called Snail & Co. I stamped it on Acetate with Black StazOn then trimmed out. After I stuck it to the card I lightly bend up the wings the added an Onyx Pearl to the head. Sentiment is stamped with VersaFine Onyx Black. Card base is Blush card stock.

A little decor for the inside too. The web and sentiment are also in the A Muse Studio Too Cute to Spook set. I stamped and embossed with Silver Sparkle embossing powder. I don't know the brand name of the stuff...but it's clear embossing powder with flecks of silver glitter in it....and it's DA 'BOMB! Stamp Works in Chandler, Arizona sells it..and several other colors too!

Our Craft Lounge Fall Foliage Challenge

I created a Fall wreath with a single stamp! Colored with Copic markers then trimmed out.

Look close at my wreath....do you see the tiny little acorns? Soooo CUTE! It's a stamp from a set called For the Love of Birds

Psssst....I think this set is on sale at the moment!!!

I added 24K Gold Crafty Sparkes to the tops of all the acorns. Yep...that's right...GOLD GLITTER...just right for Fall

Notice I didn't stamp a sentiment on my card?? Welllll....I don't have ANY Fall or Thanksgiving sentiment stamps from OCL. Not even a plain & simple Thank You stamp!

Autumn Leaves

Happy Monday! Time for our next A Muse Studio Monday Challenge.

This week we want to see Leaf creations.

The other day I posted a card using the new A Muse Studio Autumn Leaves stamp set with Versamark and Pearlscent Shimmer Chalks. (You can see that card here) Today I'm using Nutmeg Pigment ink in place of the Versamark. You have to work a little faster with the chalks since the pigment ink dries faster than Versamark -- but you will LOVE the results! Didn't these leaves turn out AWESOME!

I stamped one leaf on Sugar Cardstock that I inked up with both Nutmeg and French Roast Pigment inks - then trimmed out.

World Card Making Day with A Muse Studio

A Muse Studio has a fun World Card Making Day Challenge on their Facebook Page today. Make a card using Buttons.

Onyx Button with Onyx Twine brings balance to the bottom of my card. The new Too Cute to Spook set includes the perfect little haunted house, a fun trio of bats and sentiments are just the right size. There are 20 stamps in this set!!! YEAH BABY!

I made the orange & black striped layer by stamping Onyx Pigment Ink on Orange Cardstock using an image from the Swaky Background set.

Can you believe I didn't use ANY glitter on this!

Something must be WRONG with me...right? LOL Well...I used PLENTY of other goodies to make up for it :) I'm LOVIN' the new cardstock. The clouds are diecut using Pebble Cardstock then lightly sponged Slate Pigment Ink around the edges. The other really cool paper is the Sleep Hollow Cardstock. The text of Ichabod Crane is printed on vanilla paper. Did I say I LOVE IT?!!

Time for a SCRAPBOOK Blog Hop!

For this months A Muse Studio Consultant Blog Hop we want to show how easy it is to use A Muse products for scrapbooking

Since I love mini albums...I've designed a 6x6 page. Now all I need is a picture and it's done!

I used a bunch of my new A Muse Holiday goodies on this layout. Slate Woodgrain Cardstock for the 6x6 page base. Web Background stamped and embossed with Black Embossing Powder. LOVE IT!!!! Spooky Fence Diecut with Pebble Cardstock. The new Mini Alphabet Clear Set includes upper case, lower case, numbers and special characters! I stamped 31 from the Birthday Builder Clear Set. It has nice big numbers! The frame is stamped on Vanilla Cardstock with Pebble Pigment Ink then cut out . Touches of Crystal Glitter are easy to apply with a Quickie Glue Pen.

Bat Trio Diecut and Slate Felt. Super fun and easy to diecut!

You don't scrapbook??? Well...just use the area where a photo goes for something else...like a stamped image or some other item as the focal point and make this into a card :) That's what is sooooo cool about stamping & paper crafting...you can do ANYTHING you want with it!

World Card Making Day with A Muse Studio

I have another design to share for World Card Making Day. This one uses a new stamp set from A Muse Studio called Autumn Leaves.

These images are so realistic looking! The beautiful sentiment is also part of the set. You are gonna FLIP when I tell you how EASY it was to make these leaves all those colors.

I stamped the leaves with VersaMark ink...then added Pebbles Pearlescent Chalks on top. YEP...that's right...CHALK!

The picture below shows how the chalks have a beautiful shimmer. Hard to capture on camera...but you are gonna LOVE this in real life!

HERE WE GO! Time for another A Muse Studio Monday Challenge!

It's all about TWINE!

I used A Muse Studio Onyx Twine to tie knots at the end of the sentiment strip. Sometimes it's the little things on a design that make a big difference. That big black glittered spider and the embossed web are the main elements...but the dark pieces of twine draw your eyes down to the bottom of the card.

Isn't that web COOL! It's a NEW impression plate from A Muse. A web on one side....swirls on the other! You get 2 designs from 1 plate. GIT-R-DONE!!!! I used Onyx cardstock and sanded off the raised web impression. Super easy!

For my Christmas Sparkle...I....ummmm....welll.....I sorta went a little overboard with this new stuff I just got from Stampendous called Shaved Ice. I just couldn't stop! It's DA' BOMB!

OCL Fall Color Challenge

It's challenge time over at Our Craft Lounge!

I used 3 sets from Our Craft Lounge -- the NEW Scaredy Cat Mini set, Spooky Borders set and Spooky Nights set.

After I stamped the fence and ghosts on the card base, I took a sanding block and scuffed it all up. Walnut Stain Distress ink applied around edges.

Didn't this card turn out AWESOME!! The best part about it...my daughter Michaela came in while I was coloring the image and handed me a jar of Flowersoft and said "Wouldn't this look cool on your card mom?"

Happy Monday!

Today over on the A Muse Studio Challenge Blog our challenge is to make your own embellishment.

EVERYONE can do this...if you DARE!

To make my embellishment I used the new A Muse Studio Web Die.

After cutting out the web with onyx cardstock, I smooshed it on my Versamark ink pad and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder. Then...while it was still warm...I sprinkled on more embossing powder and heat it again. This made a nice thick coating on the web. SUPER easy!

A little row of Lime Twinkle Stickers and some bakers twine add the finishing touch.

The spider and sentiment are from a set called If You Dare. It's one of the Spotlight Special Sets on sale right now.

The little sentiment comes in set called School Time. I think it's still for sale. The apple is covered with red glitter. Coloring done with Copic Markers. Blueberry Polkadot Cardstock is available from A Muse Studio.

Our Craft Lounge Challenge #82 - Photo Inspiration

OK...so it's the LAST DAY of this weeks OCL challenge....but hey...
at least I got-r-done..right?

The colorful line of crayons caught my attention. I decided to use a set from OCL called Witch to Wear.

Coloring done with Copic markers. The stars are stamped & embossed silver then cut out. The broom and the laces on the boots are colored over with Spica Glitter pens. The frogs eyes have 3D glaze on them. Yep...I had FUN making this one!

Notice the black glitter. OCL Eyeliner Black Crafty Sparkles are NOT like any other black glitter. And you thought you had all the black glitter you needed....right? Trust me..you will LOVE this stuff! I actually used 2 colors of glitter on the cape. Eyeliner black on the outer edges...where it's darker...and Sugar Crafty Sparkles over the rest of the cape. Pretty cool huh!

Sooooo...what color boots shall I wear for the first day of school?

Our Craft Lounge just recently released several new stamps sets. I'm using Proud as a Peacock. This set is FABULOUS! The images are so fun....AND the sentiments are ALL to die for!

Seriously...I couldn't WAIT to post this card!!! I'm a BIG fan of glitter & bling...sooooooo.....I HAD to let my Uniqueness SHINE with gold embossing powder. THEN...I went to town with OCL's Crafty Sparkles!

This card definitely says "CHECK ME OUT!"
That's actually one of the sentiments in the set! Go ahead and click the closeup pic. You can really see all that bling in there!

No need for designer paper...I made my own with the stamps!

They are finished off with little Twinkle Stickers and hand drawn stems & leaves. Soooo cute! 1 flower for each year.

Silver glitter is new from A Muse and SUPER EASY to add a perfect strip of glitter using double-sided adhesive tape!

Fabulous Felt from A Muse Studio

A Muse Studio now has FELT!!!

10 colors plus an assortment pack. Each piece is 9"x"12" and made of a high quality wool/rayon blend. It's DA'BOMB!

I die cut these tiny bats using Slate Felt and our NEW Bat Trio Die Set.

That tiny little bat is about 5/8" and the largest is 1". They cut out awesome with no effort at all.
I'm in LOVE!

Some other fun NEW A Muse Studio goodies I used are the Onyx and White Bakers Twine; Sleepy Hollow Cardstock; Wasabi Cardstock and stamped images from the Too Cute to Spook Set.

It's Challenge Week #3 over on the A Muse Studio Challenge Blog

This time it's all about Dimension. Foam tape, pop-up folds, glaze, flock, felt, pearls, rhinestones...you get the idea! Anything that makes your card not flat. See samples from the team and get all the challenge & prize details HERE.

I gave my card dimension in several different ways. I embossed the cardbase and label with A Muse Studio Satin Pearl Embossing Powder. Gives the card dimension and texture.

I also added the paper flower and button -- which is tied with some Onyx Twine. The sentiment layer and flower are popped up on 3D foam tape for added dimension.

Isn't that Satin Pearl embossing powder TO.DIE.FOR!!!
I seriously want to embossing EVERYTHING with this stuff!

A Muse Studio Challenge Time!

Are you ready for a little inspiration?

Today is our 2nd challenge over on the NEW A Muse Studio Challenge Blog and it's all about "Inspiration"

Create a project using this picture for inspiration:

Here's how my creative brain pulled from the picture...
The first thing I noticed was the colors...then the floral pillow. The white butterflies caught my attention. The last thing I noticed was the wicker blind in the window -- which I incorporated on my card by using Vanilla Twine at the top edge.

A Muse Colors = Sky, Ocean, Orange & Toffee.
Sentiment and butterflies are embossed with white EP.
After stamping the flowers and leaves, I added shading with Koh-I-Noor Colored Pencils. SUPER EASY & FUN!

Challenge Time!

I made this card for the Our Craft Lounge Friday Challenge #80 - Clean & Simple - Lots of Dots

I used 3 sets from OCL - Birthday Wishes (line of dots to the birdhouses), Swingin' By ( birdhouses, bird and sentiment), and Fancy Fringe (dots on cardbase).

Three of the roofs I popped up for added dimension. All coloring is done with Copic Markers. I REALLY wanted to pour glitter all over the place on this card...but I had to prove to myself that "it's OK NOT to have glitter and bling on a card!"

I didn't even add any ribbon or fibers!!!!

Have I gone CRAZY?! LOL! Hey...it's all good ;) This card is VERY post office friendly! I might even send it to somebody.

Have you ever heard of Mortise Masking?

Well...here's a card I made using this technique.

First - I made a mask by die cutting out a piece of cardstock using Spellbinders Labels 8 set. Next - I put the mask over the card base and stamped the Mesh Background. Then - leaving the mask in place, I used a Sponge Dauber and inked around the edges to darken it up a bit.

THAT my friends is Mortise (reverse) Masking.
PRETTY DARN COOL!

I LOVE the NEW A Muse Studio Holiday Catalog that was just released...but lets not forget the AWESOME holiday stamp sets available in the regular catalog. Like the sets I used on my card: Harvest Blessings, Happy Jacks and Mesh Background. BUT...I did use the NEW Wasabi ink on the Mesh Background and NEW French Roast Flocking on the pumpkin stems. MAN I love getting new stuff!!!

WOW...what a fantastic Monday! NOW...I bet you can't WAIT to see something I made using some of the NEW A Muse Studio Goodies....right? LOL

Here's the card I made for the first blog challenge: GLITTER

I LOVE the new set called too cute to spook! The ghost and sentiment are from that set. The branch is from another new set called creepy hollow -- another MUST HAVE.

NEW Slate Woodgrain Cardstock! OH YEAH BABY....LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!! AND BAKERS TWINE!!! We have it in 3 colors! Onyx, French Roast and Cherry!
GIT-R-DONE!!!

I used A Muse Studio Onyx Glitter on the the faces. Even small touches of glitter can add a BIG PUNCH to the project. Don't get me wrong...I love using gobs of glitter and bling...but sometimes less is best.

Did you notice anything on the ghosts? I used another NEW set called mini alphabet and stamped BOO on them. It's a clear set (all our alphabet sets are clear) and has 137 stamps!!!! 2 each of all capital letters, 2 each of all lower case letters and 2 each of all the numbers -- plus a few punctuation marks and symbols!!!

WHEW! Are you still with me?
That was a BUNCH of stuff! But...I'm not done...LOL!
