Cool Christmas Greetings

Hello friends! Here's a card I made using a new stamp set from Crafter's Companion USA colored with Spectrum Noir Markers. I totally LOVE this NEW Nordic Christmas Collection! I bought all 4 stamp sets :)

Over on the Spectrum Noir blog, we have tons of helpful information and tutorials for coloring with Spectrum products. I was poking around the other day and ran across a post on coloring with reds. Lis Murphy has some great information to share, and I wanted to pass it on to you. By coloring a darker gray in the shadow areas, and then coloring with the reds over it...you get wonderful shading. Go read her post on the SN Blog HERE. Would you be so kind and leave a quick comment on the post, I know Lis would love knowing you stopped by.

I used different gray and red colors than what Lis did in her tutorial. If you don't have all the same colors listed on a tutorial, this shows that it still works beautifully with other color combinations. The colors I used for my reds are: BG6, DR6, DR2 and CR6.

I did the same with the green areas. BG6, DG3, CG4, CG1.

Here's a complete list of marker used to color the images:
  • Reds - BG6, DR6, DR2, CR6
  • Greens - BG6, DG3, CG4, CG1
  • Blacks - BG10, BG8, BG6, BG4, BG3, BG1,Blender
  • Snow Shading - BG3, BG2, BG1, EB1, Blender
  • Gingerbread Man - EB1, EB3
  • Nose - BG3, OR2
  • Star - GB3

The white card base is embossed with the NEW Crafter's Companion Sheena's Festive 5x7 Embossing Folder - Frosty Ice Border. To give it a fun "frosty ice" look, I applied the most awesome Crystal Glitter from Stampendous. While the glue under the glitter was still wet, I sprinkled on some clear embossing powder. Then, I carefully heat embossed, making sure not to scorch the glitter. I got sparkle and gloss shine all mixed in. It turned out really cool!

I added black, green, yellow and crystal glitter in various other areas of the images. Both red hearts are covered with glossy. There is also a little red rhinestone on the hat. A little fussy cutting gave the images a "die-cut" look.

Thanks for stopping by today.
