Sparkin' up some Black Magic

Does this look like a Birthday Card?

Yesterday I had every intention of making birthday cards. Somehow I ended up grabbing Halloween stamps! Imagine that!! hee hee hee

I wanted to do Heather's "share your spark Friday" challenge & Splitcoaststampers Mondays Technique Lovers Challenge. I decided to combine the two. Heather's Spark Friday challenge is create something with embossing - any kind of embossing. FUN FUN FUN!! I love embossing! SCS TLC184 challenge is to use a technique called Black Magic. This one is new to me. Basically you dip your colored pencil in OMS(Gamsol) and color your image that is stamped with White Ink on Black Paper.

I did the Black Magic technique with my A Muse ingredients stamp. Everything else stamped is embossed. I also embossed the entire piece of punched out drippy goo with Vivid Green EP. The witches cauldron image is colored with pencils and gamsol. Shading done with Copic marker.

When I was done making the card...I thought it was a little over-kill. Hummm....oh well! I still had fun. I still think it turned out pretty cool.

Recipe:
Stamps: SU Haunting Halloween, A Muse Art Stamps Ingredients & What's Brewing
Paper: SU Whisper White, Only Orange, Basic Black, Bazzill Bright Green Textured cardstock
Ink: Clearsnap Colorbox Pigment Frost White, SU Basic Black Craft, Tsukineko Versamark
Misc: Prismacolor Pencils, Koh-I-Noor Colored Pencils, OMS, Martha Stewart Drippy Goo punch, SU Detail Embossing Powder, Stampendous Vivid Green Embossing Powder, CTMH Bitty Brads, Black Micron Pen, Embossing Pen. SU Dimensionals, Copic Cool Gray No. 1

Now back to making birthday cards :)

I love your card! I think it's cute. We can get the best ideas when we least expect it.

I put your blog and a couple other card making blogs on my reader. I've really enjoyed looking at your cards when I see a new post.

Thanks for all the ideas...I love stampin'.

Take care!
