Dry Embossing

Where is your light box?

Does anyone ever do dry embossing with brass stencils and a light box anymore? Well I got mine out the other day and made this. I have one of those Merry Glo Round's and really like it.

OK...I admit it...I don't have any embossing folders with a dots background that I could just quickly run through my die-cut machine. I've been seeing lots of cute stuff made with the Cuttlebug swiss dots embossing plate. Since I don't have it, I made due with this. It's still fun to play with the brass templates...but they are time consuming.

Recipe:
Stamps - Penny Black Zoophabet; (eeek! I can't remember where the friends one came from)
Paper - SU Bliss Blue, Very Vanilla and Close To Cocoa CS; Image Stamped on SU Whisper White.
Ink - Ranger Adirondack Pitch Black; Prismacolor markers.
Misc. - Marvy Uchida Punchs; Lasting Impressions Brass Stencil L9351; Copic Spica Glitter Pen (on butterfly); Inkssentials White Opaque Pen (for dots on scallop oval); SU Grossgrain Ribbon; Dimensionals.
Techniques - Hand dry embossing for dots and hand doodling for grass

Adorable card! About the dust, I have given up! We have major issues with dust being that 1) our backyard is not landscaped yet and 2) across the street from my house there are no houses built. Our builder sold the land to a developer and it will just stay empty until the market picks up again . . . so yeah, DUST sucks! Seriously, it is on everything, tables close to doors are the worst! Fortunately, I bought a Dyson vacuum cleaner a couple weeks ago and it is pretty awesome and does baseboards with a tool really well. Anyway, sorry for the novel, but I thought I would reply to you! *grins*

Oh yeah, PS, I do have swiss dots -- since you are so close -- PM me your addy and some of your favorite colors to use and I can run some through the machine and send them off to you :)

Great job with that light box, and creating a great pattern of uniquely embossed dots! Very cool. I have to admit, I'm a little jealous....I do have the swiss dots ef, but don't have a light box. Beautiful card : )
